The problem I have with car cards is that they only have 4 Destinations for a car, sometimes a car needs too go somewhere else.

You only need one destination in most cases (One Side Way Bill(, In my case after the waybill cycle is done, I pull the waybill and the car cycles to staging. When the car arrives without a waybill, I install a new waybill. What are you doing that requires more than 4 locations? That is a lot of movement for one car.

Did this in the 80s with an atlas in ho. Long as it's dc, not a problem, do not do this with DCC.

why do you tin the solder iron, is it easier to work with and cleaner?

It protects the tip and prevents corrosion. Hit helps with the heat transfer from tip to work.
