Great watch! Thanks for breaking down the blog article. I had no idea they had one either until now. 🙌🏼🙌🏼

I don't understand how people can continue to say that Serato stems sound good. They sound horrible. Every night club I've been to including the one that I run sound at, the DJ's that use stems are easily identified from the crap quality sound coming out of the speakers. It sounds bad. And let's not mention that they're using them so much and at the wrong times that the crowd gets So annoyed because they're cutting out the beats, the drums or other parts of the track via stems at the wrong time ...dont fuck with the chorus of a track. JUST DON'T. (The chorus is what dj culture has renamed to "the drop"). People want to hear that part of the track more than anything...so dont think you are being creative when you strip out parts of the chorus or bring in a stem from another track thinking they go well. DONT DO IT. Also Serato makes use of the low quality stem algorithm in order toi achieve realtime stem extraction. You might think it sound fine, but thats because as a DJ you are most likely clinically deaf. Dont use realtime stems. Extract your stems before your gig. Get a biggger harddrive if you are running out of space. You know how every friggin DJ tries to sound better than the previous DJ by turning up the volume (you know you all fucking do it)... well get better sounding files and you wont need to turn up the volume to the point of distortion. Higher quality files means a better SNR...this means your sets will sound more clear and crisp and punchier than the douchebag using 320k mp3s and using realtime stems... plus you wont piss off the sound guy who would just turn down your level anyways. Better SNR means the house system gets more headroom and the soundguy can make you louder . Traktor doesnt use the low quality demuxing algorithm...it also doesnt offer realtime extraction too. Thats why traktor will always sound better than serato. their output is also measurably superior than serato..

Great video, thank you! An aside... I searched your videos titles for "Ableton" and last one with that title was about 6 years ago. Have you stopped using it for DJ'ing? Not a critical question but was curious if you have cycles to answer. It seems like you largely use controllers and that sort of thing now. Thanks again!

Question so can i record my mixes straight from my controller to the computer and hearings what im doing on the headphone jack on the computer instead of hooking up speakers as im offshore alot and want something to do mixes off of for the time im out there without connecting speakers to it so i can just carry in my bag i was looking at the reloop ready which is pretty much made for that but it looks to small in my opinion

I used to download songs on my desktop and transfer them to Serato . But then my computer was getting overloaded so I had to get a hard drive . After i did that I had to move them from my hard drive to Serato but I still have problems till this day smh .

1st good reason to don't switch to Rekordbox from Serato is Live Input feature of the latest one! I'm a NI Maschine user, and when I tryed to run Maschine 3 as a virtual input in Rekordbox I came to the conclusion that simply it doesn't support any Virtual Input live in the decks. And I'm sure the reason is that I should buy an AlphaTetha dj gear which supports inputs within the mixer controller. Serato supports Live Inputs, and I'm able to route Maschine 3 Virtual Input into one of his decks (even Traktor has this feature)

What rules do you have set for the PARTY NEW smart crate aside from the rule [Party] for the comment column? I assume you don't just also add the word "New" to the comment column as you'd have to delete that word from those songs once you deem them to not be new, correct?

How did you connect the 3 deck. I have a Crss12 and I can’t get it to work with just the rca and ground on back of Rane Performer
@PDot15 күн бұрын
@@Poppi3579 make sure you have 4 deck mode activated in Serato and DVS activated. Alternatively you could probably use the CRSS12 in usb mode instead of RCA.

At 11:03 I think you mean Serato. MyTags is an overlooked feature. Heck, half the stuff in Rekordbox is overlooked by most DJs.

Do you organise your music straight after you download it, or do you wait until you have lots of tracks before you organise it?
@Sheriffvlogs16 күн бұрын
Maybe make a video on how to beat grid transition tracks, especially hip-hop tracks that have a switch up in the beat.

I started an event called @Getbrunch in Atlanta in 2014 that was my first real opportunity to DJ infront of crowds weekly. I learned the basics of Djing in the 90s when my best friend Dj Rick Geez (Clipse and Pusha T's old DJ) was learning to Dj. I started the event with DJ Dibiase (Big K.R.I.T's former DJ), every week spinning sets back and forth with him helped me sharpen my skills.
