Great comparison video/review! I've owned the F90 for the past five years and was considering the G90 to replace it. The G90 looks great in person and looks extremely menacing. However, I found the interior to be very disappointing. Not a lot of reviews have discussed this, but the interior materials leave something to be desired. The doors are mostly vinyl and hard plastic, the dash is vinyl, the lower area where the glove box and light controls is vinyl, the center area is mostly vinyl and plastic, the doors in the rear are mostly vinyl and plastic. In the F90, the B&W speakers are high end brushed aluminum and are illuminated, whereas on the G90, I couldn't really tell if they are real metal, and to top it off, you get two extremely cheap black plastic speaker covers towards the floor on the two front doors. The F90 had matte carbon everywhere, but the G90 barely has any. And, the F90 had stitched leather in the locations where the G90 has either vinyl or plastic. It is too bad BMW cut corners like that, because for $140,000, it should have at least retained the quality of the F90

I had a F87 M2 Comp, switched to RS3 and now I’m getting ride of the RS3 for a 2025 M2….BMW is the way to go

They were supercars now they’re super turds. Why would I wanna pay $130,000 when my ZL11L Camaro out handle it smoke it for 70k don’t make sense you can keep it.

The CTR is built a lot more aggressive from the factory compared to the Golf R. That’s why people rave about the way the CTR handles. But all it is, is upgraded chassis and suspension bits, put on in factory form. Slap some suspension, stiffer RSB, and bushings, onto the Golf R, and it will feel just as capable and aggressive as the CTR. That doesn’t cost a lot of $$ either. Do those few things and you’ll have a much more capable and similarly fun Golf R over the CTR.

This is my dream vehicle. One quibble…the 12 volt charger is in the worst place, by the cup holders. It’s almost like putting an electrical outlet in a sink.

Just went to the dealerships website for this vehicle (looks like the same one) and they have almost $1k of worthless dealer options like $699 Toyoguard, $129 LCD screen protector (which is absolutely ridiculous) and some cables….🤔After they add that, they discount it about $1500 so really it’s just $500 off. NTM, they don’t show the mileage clearly and it looks like it has +50 miles on it (blurry so you can’t tell exactly). A smart buyer would take this video in there and get another $1500 to $2k off the car because it wasn’t broken in before it was driven like that.

Great review! Liked your fair approach, not many KZbinrs have been able to do that. Both cars are great and just take different approaches in executing a hot hatch. Best manual experience in the civic outside of Porsche, but a properly tuned dsg can be epic.

Can’t wait to get my 2025 GR Corolla Premium in Heavy Metal! I was finally able to see the Heavy Metal color in person this week and it is definitely the color I am getting. It was on a 2025 premium Plus. Personally, I don’t want the carbon fiber roof because of the extra maintenance (rain and sun), unless I could get it for $45k OTD😂 Another good thing is the GR’s are FINALLY starting to come down and can be gotten at a discount….$2-$4k off!! Some dealers are marking the 24’s down $3k and the 2025’s $2k so all those market adjustments are basically gone on the GR’s now….FINALLY! If the Type R was being marked down, I would consider it because of the Blue it comes in (If I could get it $45K OTD I would), but they are still ridiculous! This summer it was +$10k markup, now it is down to $5k….refuse to pay more than $50k. Also, The GR is built in the special plant at Toyota and the techs are like the samurai’s of mechanics. That combined with all the improvements they made in the 2025 GR Corolla is what sold me on it. Only issue I have run into are whoever is installing the PIO/port installed options is damaging them, don’t know who at Toyota is ordering roof racks on them (already see 3 with damage, 2 with roof racks that were gouged to the metal and the one this week had a spoiler that was scratched). That is why I only want all weather mats and door sill protectors, THAT IS IT FROM THE PORT! Anyway, like I said, I can’t wait to get it….but I can wait till I get the deal I want! Thank goodness the X4 lineup and the 8 Series still have the iDrive 7 interiors going into 2025. Those new touchscreens are excessive and so unnecessary.

They raised the price to absurd levels for only some aesthetic changes. Looks like nissan is taking notes from toyota and charging 50k for a 35k truck.

The Honda is not a hatchback. Not sure why Honda didn't just make it a sedan but I figure it's to make it more difficult for kids to rebadge their Civic sports as "Type R"..... The new CTR is technically more a fastback but with 4 doors.

This truck is wild, which i kinda like. I even like that cringe "frontier" on the inside.😂 Regarding the backseat, i can't imagine any male friends being willing to take a trip back there. It would mostly be reserved for quick runs to the store or something like that when you've already reached your your destination. To be honest, unless you have children, that backseat is going to be empty 99.5 percent of the time.

I wanted to get the 2025 AEV Canyon, but that red and white interior trim is atrocious and there is no other option, without terminating the AEV upgrades. If I am paying that much money for a vehicle, I should be able to spec the colors that I want.

Beautiful car. Really a shame when they put their egregious dealer stickers/badges on the trunk. I'd at least hope they'd remove it for a 52k car

Just bought one of these. Suspension is definitely on the firmer side all things considered, much more so then my RS6. Audi almost tried to turn this car into a bit of something it's not suppose to be (SUV sports car!). Overall, these are still a bargain in the super sport SUV eco system as mentioned by you, especially when you stack it vs. Cayenne Turbos, Urus, Bentayga, DBS, etc. While it is a good car it is far from what most would consider the ideal daily driver (highly compromised car after all). So you chose an ES With a small screen to make it seem like there is no larger one? Just the 2GR FKS makes this a no brainer. The interior is much better material as well on the ES.

I have been doing research on midsized trucks. I test-drive all of them. Taco, Ridgeline, Marick, Colorado, Canyon, Santa Cruz, Ranger, and Frontier. I went back to test drive the Ranger, Ridgeline, and the Frontier. They all have one thing in common, no leg room on the back. But, I discovered that the Frontier Pro4x long bed has extra inches of leg room in the back. Also, I like that it's still old school style. It's not too exaggerated as the Taco, Ranger, and Ford. I'm referring to technology. The Ridgeline is cool, but it doesn't convince me. It looks like the Frontier Pro4x long bed is the winner. Despite the fact that the back seat is straight and might not be comfortable for passengers on the back for long trips, it's won't matter to me. Why? Because it's only my wife and I.

Congratulations on one of the best reviews that I've seen on KZbin. I come from a 2017 Ford Focus RS which I could not drive anymore due to back issues aggravated by clutching. Got a 2024 Golf R with DSG and although not as exciting as my RS is definitely faster primarily due to the DSG and much more refined. Loved the Type-R but was not an option since I can no longer drive a manual. Thank you for this objective and balanced review of these two cars.
