TWINE is the most underrated film in the series IMO. Peak Brosnan, fantastic opening, great plot (M more central), great villains, Zukovsky is badass, amazing soundtrack and Denise Richards is really not that bad. The only (minor) gripes I have are the locations and not focusing enough on Bond and Elektra's romance.

Funny enough, I finished watching this as apart of the 25th anniversary for the world is not enough. And to be honest, I think this should have been perice's final run. And some of the green screen and cgi seems to age well like a fine champagne that has been just opened after 20 years and tastes delicious. Anyways welcome back.

It would not have been anywhere near as successful as it is now and might have been considered a flop. Connery would not have returned for DAF and instead Roger Moore would have started there. Diamonds would still not have been a direct sequel.

Goldfinger stylish and iconic, but if you carefully think about it, Bond did nothing but get captured and get other people killed. Most notably the girl painted in Gold. It also bothered me how vulnerable he was and could have easily died of a gold paint job too. With the exception of passing a note to Felix Lighter, he did nothing. He couldnt even turn off the aromic bonb at the end. Q had to do it with 007 seconds to spare. Basically the movie was about him getting captured and doing nothing.
@DutchBondFan21 сағат бұрын
@@dexterfurman9118 I disagree. I talked about it in detail in my Goldfinger remade review (you'll find the two-part remade review on my channel). But in short, Bond does so much more. He unraffels the plans to Operation Grand Slam, and gets Pussy Galore on his side switching the Delta 9 gas to a harmless gas and alarming the authorities. If it had not been for Bond, Goldfinger would have succeeded

This movie is good, but definitely not a favourite which is probably unpopular. It was a film made for Timothy Dalton who left after the 6 year hiatus, as producers wanted him back for many films putting him well into his fifties. Brosnan is my least favourite bond actor as he only copies previous actors, namely Connery and Moore. The Bond girl is pretty mediocre in my opinion BUT everything else is absolutely strong. A good bond film but let down by the fact I can’t get over dalton not being in it, Brosnans performance and the Bond girl. 7/10

Dutch fan speaking American accent. But Bond is British, isn't he?
@DutchBondFan3 күн бұрын
Its because outside of the UK, most media people are exposed to is often mostly American English, hence why we tend to speak more American English when we learn it as a second language
@besserschreiben94813 күн бұрын
@@DutchBondFan Thanks, I see, this is plausible. I learnt English at school, not American, but since then I spent a lot of effort to protect my English from American accent. Generally, English is much better understandble, mainly for two reasons, first the vowels and second the consonants.

I'd like to see an AI program be able to place Sean Connery's head on George Lazenby's body and use Connery's AI voice to re-dub al of the dialogue in this film too. It could happen... and sooner than you think.

Unfortunately, Cavell is not created an outstanding performance as yet... He should a created that unforgettable character with Argyle, just as Daniel Craig did with Knives Out... or another contender, Elba did with Luther. Cavell is great to look at and he has some charisma, but he just doesn't have the unforgettable character.

Here's another regarding SPECTRE: I don't mind the retcon of having Silva being a part of the organisation. I understand why some people don't like it because his vendetta against M is personal, but that would only make it so that he and SPECTRE have a common goal, and it explains how he got the resources and manpower to execute his plan in Skyfall.

"No Time to Die" Is gonna be a difficult film to assess without hindsight, I think the overall opinion will be strongly influenced by what they do with the series *after* it. I can very easily see a world where time is either very kind to it... or very bad to it. Regardless I do think that the opening hour or so up through Cuba is the peak of the Craig series; so much fun. As for Nomi, I actually felt like she really worked in the film largely *because* of the metatextual reasons. So many of the Craig films are all about "Is Bond still relevant/does the world still need Bond?" so to have a "next generation" 007 come in and kinda annoy Bond is pretty funny to me. Moreover I think it's funny that she makes a point to rub it in and get a rise out of Bond, because that's *exactly* the kind of smarmy thing that Bond himself would do, which makes it an oddly perfect situation. But the back half of that movie is a mess, so it's a real mixed bag for me. I'm glad "The World is Not Enough" got into your top 10, it's one of my personal favorites.
@DutchBondFan7 күн бұрын
I respect your opinion, but would have to respectfully disagree. I don't feel had Bond taken his 007 number from a previous agent he would rub it in that much. He's above that, doesn't care about it, and it's to childish. The annoyance about it to me also came before the production of No Time To Die, the countless articles of how they all fed into: "Bond is going woke" - 007 is now a black woman!" "and the countless feminists, who really don't care about Bond in the slightest, cheering out loud for this 'progressive move'. It was more politically charged than story based. (Had Nomi been any other Double O, the story would have been exactly the same, it really played no meaningful role....) Again though, the fact all this was a personal allergy to me, doesn't mean we should all agree. Thank you for watching my ranking !
