Michael G. Wilson. The "Stan Lee" of James Bond films.

Plot twist: he didn't really want to do cameos he just wanted to save money on extras 😆

4:26 when I saw Goldeneye at the cinema in 1995 I noticed Michael G in that scene - I was proud of myself for being such a fan!

I guess Michael G. Wilson is the Stan Lee of the Bond films lol. I had no idea about his voice in A View To A Kill. I think my personal favorite of his cameos is probably from Tomorrow Never Dies.

Holy cow so that makes Wilson the only one to share screen with Moore, Brosnan and Craig?

Entertaining video. The cameos are a nice bit of fun, especially when it's pretty prominent like 'Casino'.

In the official James Bond Encyclopedia there is a little section where they go through under all of Micheal Wilson's cameos. He's depicted as a possible double agent for the CIA whose identity is unknown, but is suspected to be Russian hence the boardroom scenes in Octopussy and Goldeneye.

I wanna see Michael G Wilson wearing a _Where's Wally_ outfit in his next cameo!

Michael G. Wilson was a partner in a law firm when his stepfather, Cubby Broccoli, brought him in to help during the 'divorce' from Harry Saltzmann after 'Man with the Golden Gun' and was key part in ensuring Cubby took full control of Bond. He's also worked as an assistant director [Goldfinger], Cubby's assistant [Spy] and as a writer [uncredited on Moonraker, co-writer for FYEO-Licence to Kill]. Slight correction 4:10, while Goldeneye was Barbara Broccoli's first time as producer [having previously been assistant director on Ocotopussy +View and associate producer on the Dalton films], Michael G. Wilson was a producer alongside Cubby from View to a Kill onwards.

I believe that he has a kind of on-screen cameo in Licence To Kill - when Bond cuts the police tape to get back into Leiter's house, the close-up of Bond's hands is actually Wilson's hands.

Fun Fact: Albert "Cubby" Broccoli's daughter & Bond producer Barbara also has a cameo in *"The Living Daylights"* but unlike her step-brother, her cameo was just a one-time thing.

Spotting the MGW cameo is always a highlight of watching a Bond film a second time on the big screen. Some are obvious like TND, CR and some like Spectre we don't know about until much later. Unless it's been done far more discreetly I've often wondered why Barbara hasn't had any prominent cameos. Knowing her love for DC I'm surprised BB didn't slot herself in as the girl Bond has with him in the villa in Turkey after the intro to Skyfall.

Podría haber un video sobre breves apariciones de actores famosos, que cuando aparecieron no eran muy conocidos. Como Gerard Butler en Tomorrow never dies

In Goldeneye Michael G Wilson's hand can be visible on scene when you see guy killed by Xenia Onatopp. The hand takes document (passport?).

On a much-smaller scale, I know that Michael Nesmith had cameos in at least 2 of the films he produced, TIMERIDER (near the beginning) and TAPE HEADS (as a guy delivering water who's mistaken for a record producer). If he's in REPO MAN, I've never noticed him.

In "The Spy Who Loved Me" I think that Michael G Wilson is the one with the dark blue T-shirts. I don't know, but for me he looks younger and thinner for that year.
@DutchBondFan Жыл бұрын
Thats what I sometimes leaned towards myself. But apparantely from research, he's the tan shirt one ...
@elinformedejamesbond Жыл бұрын
@@DutchBondFan Well, this time I think differently and I respect your opinion. By the way, I also posted a video (three months ago) about the MGW cameos. Even for me the one in the blue shirt looks more like the MGW that we see in "Moonraker". Just have to make the comparison.
