1:10 I love how Bach immediately knew that voice wasn’t coming from the kid! You can’t fool the master! Fun fact: God help any choir boy who let the air drop down in the hand pumped bellows of the organ while Bach was playing. The punishment would be swift and severe!

One must only wonder - as textual evidence certainly suggests - what dear Bach would have done had he only had access the the steel frame pianoforte. I'm absolutely certain he would have forbid the harpsichord. The same is certainly true for the female voice: after Kozena -- Nicht! Nach! No returns!

Isn’t he fabulous? I just loved singing any of his music, sacred or secular, and listening is almost as good! There are so many composers who’ve been lost to time, which is sad, but we can be so grateful for those whose music is now ours!
