Prior to covid I had Japan trip planned on a bike and then everything went to peanut butter. So happy to have found your channel really excited to go through your episodes. I travel all the time on my bike through USA. My best defender against cold is good separates rain suit. Easy to put on easy to take off. I have gore tex gear and it does not stop the wind. I've ridden in low 30s for hours on end. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the vid. I think it is pronounced "yo-kan" (ryokans). Japan has varying climates from region to region. Funny seeing how much snow there was for a summer month!

Hi Don. Glad you liked the video. I was there in March this year which was the first month of spring, however, winter weather was still hanging around when I was there. But, loved the experience.

@@mcjourneys1031 That's right. You did the 14day/13night Deluxe tour with RushCorp. That was done and you are now just editing and uploading the video footage collected. I am doing the 4-day Deluxe tour with Rush this coming August 2024. Then I head off to do Vietnam for 9 days and back to Tokyo for a 3-day Tokyo to Mt. Fuji tour. Will be back doing the Deluxe Hokkaido 5-day tour in February 2025.

Brutal weather. I hope I don't run into any monsoons or heavy rains this coming August for my 4 day motorcycle trip. It is one thing to be rainy, a whole different story with rain and cold. Makes those days not so pleasant of a ride, and you can't even enjoy the landscapes, worrying the whole time about your safety on 2 wheels and the elements.
@mcjourneys10312 ай бұрын
The weather was harsh but the ride was thrilling. Safety was a big consideration and I put a lot of trust in the bike. All the best on your trip in August. Should be amazing weather for you. Enjoy.
@donnguyen84432 ай бұрын
@@mcjourneys1031 You never know how the weather changes in rainy season in these countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, etc. One moment it is sunny next thing you know it pours for 10 minutes then it's done. Next day could be snow and sleet, and day after that could be blistering heat wave. I have my fingers crossed as RushCorp does not give rainchecks or refunds.

Nice pleasant ride through what is modern day Hiroshima. I can't imagine what it was like being there post WWII and especially on that dreaded day of August 6, 1945. Thanks for putting together the video. Liked.

Beppu ... it's got a ring to it. Boat trip nice and the food section interesting. Your obvious joy with it and the references to Sake adds to whole thing.

Japan is so cute and clean. Everything is so well-kept compared to Vietnam. Clean streets, paved roads, not much litter and garbage at all. Can't wait to do my solo trip in August and September 2024! RushCorp NinjaTours here I come! Big like and thank you again.

I just got my international driving permit and realized after that it doesn’t even have the Vietnam translation in it… Does yours have Vietnam in your license?

Not a problem. Your international driving permit is still valid for Vietnam. It names Vietnam as one of the international countries its valid for.

@@mcjourneys1031 I saw you did that Vietnam North to South trip. It was probably much cheaper than Japan but the quality (especially hospitality) in Japan is so much more refined. For Vietnam, you have to do the Ha Giang Loop! Especially if you have an IDP and Motorcycle license, which I am sure you have. I have done the Ha Giang Loop and will be doing it again (offroad version this August) and then to Japan with RushCorp/Ninja Tours. Be safe and happy travels!

Sorry if I missed this but how much was the bike hire and insurance costs etc.?
@mcjourneys10314 ай бұрын
This a prepared self guided tour, a package with a set price which included bike hire, accommodation and Satnav with routes and included some insurance. Additional waiver insurance was also paid. altogether, approx A$11,500 Hope this helps. All the best.
@donnguyen84434 ай бұрын
@@mcjourneys1031 $11,500 AUD is about $7,500 USD. And this price is for 14 days of riding (i'm assuming) which works out to be about $820 AUD or $535 USD per day for the bike hire/rental, accommodation, and self-guiding SATNavigation. This is very affordable for Japan standards which is traditionally very expensive. Other bike rental places can charge about $250 USD per day just for the bike hire! Did your price include meals and for how many days was that $11,500 AUD for? Thanks in advance.

Is there a part 2 or 3 to this? I am contemplating doing a solo self-guided motorcycle tour of Japan for 14 days since I'm getting old and need to do this before health and old age kicks in where in a few years I might not be physically able anymore. Plus, USD is strong against the yen right now so it makes Japan less expensive. Did Vietnam already, and half of Thailand. That leaves Laos and Cambodia. But Japan is next due to favorable exchange rates! Nice video. Very informative.
