If it's a group ride, you should be in a "Group". If you are leading at 75-80 mph, the people in the back have to run 85 to try and catch up. Not fun and not safe. Respectfully sir, you ride like you're by yourself.

You did one of the most dangerous things you possibly could have as a car rider especially as a bike rider at 5 minutes and 47 seconds you pull into the gas station and you cut it sharply behind the truck carrying the huge trailer a fifth wheel? I mean you literally went right behind him having no idea if another car or truck was pulling out legally to get behind that trailer you could have died right there you should have went up another 30 to 40 ft and then turned into the gas station and instead in your attempt to save two or three seconds you almost cost yourself your life you need a ride more aware
@davidalantroyer3 жыл бұрын
It’s a valid point… but at 10 mph I think you might be a little over estimating the danger lol

Hello David..I have lived most of my life in San Jose, 101 hwy & 280 hwy area. It has some EastHill roads up to Mt. Hamilton Lick Observatory that goes out to Tracy & Livermore 580 hwy. Then further north is SF. But got to get out of area for no traffic to riding. Hollister south also and then Santa Cruz beach area is Highway 1..good to go on that along the west coast. But now out of SJ to Los Los Banos.(south). Sometimes too frecking hot (100+) to ride. Yosemite not to far. So I look to ride & find that good road while I can. Keep it up and rkeep rolling down the roads.😎 Thank you, keep safe. Happy Trails to you & your girl. Goose_HD 883 Lady🙂

That’s a fair point to make, but cattle living on a well traveled public road is not cool either. It’s a serious traffic hazard on some of those corners and pushing them off of the road did no harm as far as I can see

Nice ride but you suck as a road boss. The idea of a group ride is to stick together so the informed can point out things of interest, not run off and drag bag or peg. You want to do that, do it alone. If you're always having to pull off because you're jetting ahead, you're doing it wrong. Keep everyone in view unless its a big group.
@davidalantroyer3 жыл бұрын
At least you provided good input instead of just bitching, lol. Everyone on the ride was very familiar with the route, it’s a small town and we all know the roads like the back of our hands, so one person cruising ahead to enjoy a set of curves while whoever wants to stays behind at their pace is exactly what we all enjoy. If it were with a group of people I didn’t know, or an area we didn’t know, it would be different. We were all perfectly happy on this ride. Regardless, thanks for the input, you’re not wrong!

I've stayed in / ridden through Libby (Hayabusas and ZX-12 14's) a few times after leaving GNP, but I just booked it to Bonners Ferry to return to AZ. I didn't think to check out the local roads. Usually, the locals will give me recommendations. I tend to just roam around. Thanks for posting - are those roads ever really crowded? I know Montana is now a suburb of Cali and TX!
@davidalantroyer3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great ride, and I have to say Bonners is much nicer to stay in than Libby. No, these roads are almost always empty, except in hunting season, but even then they’re empty comparatively to the rest of the country. There is an influx of people from mostly liberal areas, for whatever reason, but it’s not terrible, yet... there tends to be a trend with liberals toward attempting to shut down local logging and other major sources of revenue, which leads to much worse forest fires activity and a crippled economy, but it’s not as bad here as other places

But as an alternative your friend could have wetted down his shirt and put his jacket back on Yes always put the jacket back on this slows the rate of evaporation yet still it will evaporate and cool him down try it next time

@mikebarron58053 жыл бұрын
@@davidalantroyer & Jeriah, I had to go back to see what gear Jeriah had on. I like the chaps but they're better suited to horseback riding than motorcycle protecting. 😉😁 When you unzipped your jacket I was surprised that you had it zipped all the way up.🤤 That shuts off all of the ventilation and bakes you in your own juices. That's Great for roasts and hams, not so much for people.😁 I have zero experience with motorcycle leathers but firefighters bunker gear has similar issues and I still remember when a blue jean jacket felt like an oven in July and August. Even at 60 to 70 MPH! Unzip that jacket 5 to 10 inches. The ventilation will evaporate the sweat and might even give you goose bumps. 😁 The main thing is, it can keep or lower your core temperature by 5° - 10° which can lessen the effects of heat exhaustion/stress. You've still got to drink enough water to prevent dehydration or nothing short of an IV drip running wide open will help. FYI, the H2O you pour down your neck is cheaper than the Saline IV a paramedic pumps into your arm. 😉 Wishing Y'all Good Luck & Great Riding
@davidalantroyer3 жыл бұрын
Mike that’s some solid advice. So true, unzipping the jacket and pouring water down the shirt is going to be a lifesaver next time.
@mikebarron58053 жыл бұрын
@@davidalantroyer LMFO, David, I meant pour the water into Jeriah and let nature take it's natural course. 😂 If you have plenty of water it certainly won't hurt to wet his shirt. Just make sure he's got enough in him first. In the fire service we pushed the fireline personnel for 3 - 20 oz bottles of water an hour. We considered 2 bottles would get most of them through but 3 would give us a fair safety margin. We were lucky if we could get them to drink 20 oz of Gatorade an hour. A sketchy but we'll worn field test used by some crew chiefs, if you suspect 1 of your guys may be experiencing dehydration ask him to spit. If they can't spit on command it's most likely because they don't have enough water in them.
