Were thinking of gling here in june. Married couple late 30s. But im reading two complete different opinions. Some people say its a great spot for the craic with good music spots and cheap drink Then others say its a "dump" with loads of places closed. I know to each their own but which is it?? Is it a good spot for good nitelife and food and drink ?? Thats all we want! Thanks

It's a great location which overlooks the bay from the top of the valley, the hotel itself has entertainment on but there's also entertainment literally 5 min over road, plenty there for everyone, or, grab a taxi down to the bottom where there's a shopping mal and more bars and restaurants....

Hi there, no there was no aircon. However, being on top of the valley helps as it's slightly cooler, with the patio door open we had a cool breeze..

It's well placed and has something for everyone. Go out the main doors and opposite is a great entertainment square. We enjoyed our stay there. Will be there again in two week

Dawsons music, i remember it well. The little arcade that it led into was a great cut through, is where i used to busk on guitar and mouthorgan back in the mid eighties. Up the next ally there was an alternative music shop, the name escapes me, and a solicitors office above. We used to play around in the lift and get lobbed out, always smelling of patchouli oil.. good times.. really sad to see Wigan council letting our heritage crumble ..

The Bar is called Mary D's. It's located at the left end as you enter from the side next to taxi drop of pick up.

Like most of Wigan's builidings, just left to rot, even Haigh Hall is in decay, the window frames are rotten, the old Town Hall was left until a point of no rescue before they finally pulled it down, such a waste. I honestly wonder what Wigan Council do with all their money.

They're deliberately letting liated buildings go to waste and when the right development comes along they pay their 10 % and destroy the buildings this happened to a great pub in Dundrum Co Down lots of great Bands played there Ash was one of them listed building then suddenly knockec down and is a souless apartment block an fews it will look like bugger all

Excellemte pretty tricky flying. I remember the old Dawson's music store used to go in there a lot. How is the Royal Court rebuild going ? It will be a great music venue one day
