You are all missing one thing and that is what the Bible says about the clothes that Jesus was wrapped in. It clearly states that there was a separate cloth wrapped around the head. The main cloth did not cover the head. The so-called shroud of Turin is just another piece of junk. All such relics are junk

this depiction of the crown of thorns makes a lot of sense... so much sense i feel weird. the "crown of thorns" depicted in art is in the shape of a halo and is aesthetically brutal. i never questioned it before, but really the resemblance to a halo seems like a later religious interpretation rather than a historical fact. and if it truly were made of only thorns, looking so brutal like the depiction we are familiar with, it would hardly be called a "crown" by the ancient sources. this depiction of it as having leaves and flowers and beautiful fruit, yet also having thorns along the sides and back, makes way more sense. it looks like a laurel. the romans commonly took plants and made them into laurels and awarded them as crowns. we're all familiar with the roman laurel crown, but there were many others like the grass crown for example. and they don't form a full halo but have an opening in the front. this depiction of the crown of thorns is very similar to that. take a local plant that looks regal, bend it into a laurel crown type shape, put it on the head. but even though it looks regal, it has thorns. and those thorns would be around the back and sides of the head, not the front, like a laurel crown

I am a believer, a Christian, and I have always wished with all my heart that the shroud was real. But there are details that I still do not understand. It is known that the bodies of the deceased were washed and anointed with oils and herbs, as well as adorned with their religious paraphernalia, as shown here. But we also know that a dead body does not continue to bleed, much less after being washed with vinegar, as was customary. So, how is it possible that there was so much blood to pass through such thick cotton? And, why would they have left the nails in his body, being this so painful for his loved ones as a reminder of such suffering? Please, if anyone knows these answers, I ask you to help me understand. I don’t understand why the nails would still have been in the body. Surely they would have remained in the cross when the body was pulled off? Or at least removed from the body out of respect? Like, you wouldn’t prepare the body of a person stabbed to death for burial leaving the knife still stuck in the chest.
