My old Epson projector is dying and I'm stuck contemplating between waiting for this projector or getting a HT3560 right now. Do you think this would be worth the wait and the price increase over the HT3560? My main use is just movies. And thank you for the reviews

Thanks for the video I have subscribed. I still think that picture still looks too dark on your projector. Could you do a video where you use a panasonic 4k player and convert the HDR2020 signal to SDR2020, I am interested how the results would compare because projectors cannot really do hdr properly so its more of an advantage i have found to convert the HDR signal to SDR. You then get the full contrast range the projector can handle and you will still get 2020 colourspace to boot and you could do away with the processor altogether. Thanks

How does this compare to the X500i? Is the loss in color/contrast worth no RBE + more brightness? I'm also considering the TH690ST to save on costs since people rave about the image quality of that projector. Hello, I was hesitating between the x3100i and the W4000i/HT4550i then this one arrives. If compared to those 2 do you believe the TK710 has better blacks? Overall between a X3100i and this one which one has the best image quality according to you? Thanks.
@thedaingeonАй бұрын
I do think the laser tends to provide better black levels than the X3000, but the HT4550i would be my pick of the 3 if I had to choose.
@memenoihousedesuАй бұрын
@@thedaingeon Super interesting thanks. OK so I remove the X3100i from my list, it’s either the TK710 or the HT4550i (but this one is much more expensive). Do you the blacks are better on the HT4550i? For the rest I deduct that the HT4550is is sharper / has better colours.

Hello, I've been happily using the BenQ TH671ST for four years now, but the draw of upgrading to 4K and HDR is very strong. Because of room limitations I need to stay with the same throw range, so I've been looking at the x500i with 4 LEDs and the TK710sti with the laser. I'm projecting directly on a light grey wall in a dark room, but lose some image quality due to a white ceiling. I also have a large 3D collection, so that is a very important feature. I do movies and TV only, gaming is not a big draw for me. So here's my quandary: the x500i seems like it should have better color reproduction with its HDR-Pro and Cinematic Color features, but the brightness is 2200 lumens. The TK710sti has 3200 lumens on a laser, but doesn't mention features geared toward color accuracy. But the added brightness might make 3D content more enjoyable, and both models boast much higher contrast than my current lamp projector. Do you think there is going to be a significant drop in color accuracy and saturation between the 4 LED and the laser model, and do you think the 2200 lumens of the 4 LEDs would be bright enough for 3D viewing? The TK710sti seems close to the brightness of what I have now, but I don't know if the laser light would be too strong for the space. If I was smart I would keep enjoying the TH671st as it still has a few more years of lamp left, but adding 4K, HDR, and higher contrast sound pretty great. I appreciate your time, and any advice you might have.

I commented earlier about the dead pixel. It is above Issac’s head in Dead Space at the 11:34 mark. Can you tell me if this is the projector, or a recording issue?

Don't mean to alarm you, but there is a dead pixel on that screen. I thought it was my projector, but I switched to a television, and it was still there. Its on the close-up of the UI interface. I had to return my TK700STI for repair last year because of this. I had multiple dead pixels. Hopefully, this is not the case with a brand new projector!

Saying 600,000:1 contrast is the most "I just read this from their spec. sheet" statement you can possibly rattle off. A good real world contrast ratio is anything above about 1,500:1, and if this model is capable of more than that, it would be a shock. Would be great for a 1% contrast ratio measurement instead of just reading from a spec sheet. Good to see a basic walkthrough of the menus and such, but without a single meter, this isn't really a review, but just showing off in video what is already on the spec sheet.
@thedaingeonАй бұрын
Totally understand your point and yes I followed the spec review sheet from BenQ in the video. I have reached out to BenQ to clarify “native” contrast for you and I will report back. I will also look in to purchasing the tool to gauge contrast in the future. Any tool you would personally recommend? I currently just purchased a tk860i and then this just came out. I’m within my return window and I am slightly feeling buyers remorse here. I have a Living Room set up and deal with a fair amount of ambient light all around. Usually we watch our main shows or movies at night. Just casual viewing during the day. If you were me, would you return the 860 and purchase this instead?
@thedaingeonАй бұрын
I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. The 860i is great because it has the media stick and a ton of premium features. I’d say if you are going to use it a lot for a long time get the 710, but if you will only use it for 1 movie every couple weeks then stick with the 860i

Depends on what you need. X3100i is the latest cube and it also has lens shift but it’s LED not laser. I think the laser is the big difference maker because it seems to have eliminated any rainbow effect. If you need good sound and the added media stick then maybe the X3100 is the better option for you

Thanks for the review! Do you think it is the 4k version of HT2060? If possible, can you test the native contrast?
@thedaingeonАй бұрын
HT2060 does not have laser light source. 2060 uses LED which is great and lasts long, but laser is way better imo
@paulvail7926Ай бұрын
This is very unlikely to have the native contrast that the HT2060 delivers. The HT3560 is kind of the lamp-based version of the 2060, and the 4550i is truly their 4K version of the 2060. The 2060 is NOT a entry level model, it's just their 1080p model. It's actually a very good projector with really good features. The price is lower overall because of the resolution, but in reality, it's one of the more expensive 1080p models on the market these days.
