Weird people out there. Why would you want to use vaseline when you can use bearing grease that under heat will melt and flush down with oil? Do you know the chemical reaction of vaseline when it's mixed with oil and exposed to heat? Noo!!

I've restored a few of these old bikes 4 Honda's and 1 Yamaha. Looking for another one but people are asking stupid prices now. I get it there rare but they're not that rare that people are asking $1500 for 1 with a seized engine and completely clapped out.

I’m not sure if that’s OEM. I have a trailer hitch on my 250SX that I bought from the Honda dealer back in the early 90s and it doesn’t look like the one in this vid.

Nice work. You torque converter is installed backwards, yes it is, the springy side is opposing on the symmetric torque converters. Just flip the front around, possibly some shimming but its worth it.

Is there a way to keep them running in the winter, we have no garage. And the throttle gable gets stuck. Cant start maybe cause it needs thinner oil. Idk what else. Any tips would help. We use it for towing the kids sled.
@nate32185
@nate32185 Жыл бұрын
I keep my go karts outside under a tent all winter. I usually use 5w30 in winter and 10w30 in the summer. The throttle cable issue is common. Usually water makes it’s way in the cable and freezes and or corrodes the cable. Replace your throttle cable with a new one. They are all over eBay for 10-15$. Also get yourself a trickle charger to keep your battery fully charged during the cold months. A can of starting spay goes a long way to. Give the air filter a little spritz before initial startup. Good luck and have fun!

I can't unscrew the bottom bolt! in all the videos, people just unscrew with a hex key and that's it! I have it scrolled together with the rod into which it is screwed! I don't understand how it can be disassembled! what is the problem?

If you are referring to the 6mm Allen bolt at the bottom. Try soaking the bottom of the forks in PB blaster or diesel fuel. Mine came out real hard!

How do you go about figuring out what chain you need to go from the engine to the wheel?
@nate32185
@nate32185 Жыл бұрын
Usually you match up the chain with the sprocket from the quad. In most cases though, clutches for predator 212 engines will use #40 or #420.

@@nate32185 So your running a 3.5:1 final ratio and hows the bottom end power like torque wise? I have a 1 seater woods buggy that weighs around 600LBS and am trying to find a good torquey gear ratio for strictly woods/hill climb riding using the same Ninja 250 engine. Does it do good at hill climbs? I am thinking running a 9:1 ratio but want to hear your thoughts on your set up as a reference first.
