not using a torque wrench is an unforgivable mistake when you want to make a video to teach people the right way to work, especially with spacers on the wheels. in short you are not using good safety practices.

Been running these tracks through the toughest swamp in Alaska and haven't had a problem.
@danmcdonagh89249 күн бұрын
Same blocking should be the same between the floor joist. I know you don't have code restrictions in Alaska but for your own safety.
@danmcdonagh89249 күн бұрын
Any of that blocking should be every 7 ft. Minimum.
@danmcdonagh89249 күн бұрын
There is a way to remedy that by putting another block inside the rafters on the bottom.
@danmcdonagh89249 күн бұрын
Oh you did some block I see now but would need to be on edge to strengthen. I know you can't do that due to ventilation 😅 .
@danmcdonagh89249 күн бұрын
I hope your going to do a bunch of blocking in your rafters . As is that roof will not hold the snow load in the length of rafters that I see.😢

Joel, I’m surprised your pipes froze last winter. What did you skirt your trailer with? Did you wrap the pipes with heat tape? I have found that skirting with bales of hay is VERY insulating. Might save some time for you leading into moose hunting to give that trailer another winter try. Also, if you didn’t do it last winter try opening cupboard doors before going to bed to allow heat to circulate. I don’t live in Alaska but I have friends who do and these things worked well for them in their trailers. Good luck. Love the vlog. Dave

Good tips! I moved into the basement last winter and never looked back. I traded my 5th wheel for a 100' hoop house :)

No one is preventing Americans from accessing public lands just because there aren't maintained trails, are they? Leave some of the land wild, let some trails go back to nature. I don't want these lands to become overcrowded, like many are in my state of Washington.
@WildWestTrailАй бұрын
I disagree with you completely. Not only do the trails need to be maintained but more need to be cut into the wilderness. The preservationist mentality on display with your comment (and with the USFS) is antithetical to the creation of wilderness areas in the first place. These giant wilderness areas are man made constructs and were created for the purpose of increasing recreation. The best way to deal with overcrowding is to make more trails.

It's paradise, except for the short summers, long winters and cold, wet weather. Btw, did you get religion up there or were you always into that?

Dan Noakes sent over some missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, they helped me immensely. Moving all that material to the second level was a huge help. Aint nothing wrong with the weather :)

Descent instructional video. You must be fishing some private spot with NO snags if you're running 35lb test all the way to your hook. You'll pay hell getting unsnagged with 35lb test...yikes. Would not recommend that for most people...put a barrel swivel below weights then run 20-25lb test leader to hook. BTW that was 100% a Pink.

It's too late now, but for anybody else struggling to lift walls, Google 'Wall Jack'. It's a jack that slips over a piece of 2x6 and will jack your wall from floor to upright. You may need two or three for your long walls, but it's an option.
