Thanks for the video and I wish I saw this earlier. I been fighting over the hard shank for more than a year now, thinking if I did anything wrong.. Is there any trick that I could try to soften it up a bit to safe the day? Many thanks

I dance but not on pointe yet, and not sure if I ever will however, I figure skate and have been looking for a solution for my toes. The dots look thin enough to fit between my foot and my boot. I've tried the figure skate pads but they slip off and they wrinkle which becomes really annoying. I'm going to try the dancer dots and see what happens!

I am thinking about trying Gaynor Mindens in my future. Currently wearing RC20 (formerly Russian Pointe Almaz). I'm finding I have very specific needs as far as platform/box width. Russian Pointe Rubins were slightly too wide and I would sink. I measured them and they were 2" width platform compared to Almaz at 1 and 11/12". 2007s Felt nice but platform slightly too narrow and my toes would overlap in them. I have an old pair of Grishko Novas and measured those and platform is identical in width to Almaz, and I did well with the box in those, but of course I stopped wearing them due to killing the shanks too fast and heel was way too low for my foot. Do you have an actual measurement in inches for a size 8, wide width, box 3+ in Gaynor Minden Sculpted? Curious if that would match the 1 and 11/12" I am looking for. I'm one with very wide feet at the metatarsal, but very tapered Egyptian style toes and compressible feet, very high arches, diamond shape (narrows to heel). I do well in a lower profile shoe and I am attracted to GM pointe shoes for this reason among others. Unfortunately the closest fitter for GM from where I live is almost 3 hours away. I find it frustrating to have such wide metatarsals but very tapered toes with very long big toe and compressible feet. It feels like everything is made for either very wide feet all around or very narrow all around.

Do these work for other pointe shoe brands too. I haven't been able to find a Gaynor Minden shoe that fits me (street shoe 11 with narrow feet). The brand that I did find that has my size, even their most narrow shoe still isn't narrow enough for me.

They’re so beautiful and I’m so excited to go to class with them :) they’re only in 1 store in my country luckily it was really close ❤ i AHVE a high arch and dance en pointe 6 times a week

I am a dressage rider with a total mess of a left foot, and these things are saving my life right now. I have frost damage on two toes that swell like ticks and hurt like crazy in the cold--these are perfect for covering those toes and protecting them inside my boots. I also have a bone spur on the fifth metatarsal about an inch below my toe joint that bleeds when it spends too much time in contact with boots. These dots dramatically reduce the friction and the discomfort. So--I know, I'm in the wrong sport to be giving you a shout out, but I LOVE these.

If someone do not want to strengthen their feet and just want comfort and not pain, what shank should use??

Is the size back to normal as well? I bought a gaynor a couple months ago and had a terrible experience - not only it is super hard but much smaller than usual. And I used the recommended size.... a HUGE waste of (a lot of) money

Can these be used in non-GM pointe shoes? I wear Bloch Hannah and think these could help with the sinking in experiencing now that my shoes have stretched. Any recommendations for sizing? I wear a 6.5 0X in Bloch.

My Gaynors used to fit well when I first restarted pointe, for about a year, but now I’m sinking into the box big time and having really bad big toe pain. Could it be because my foot is stronger, or I stopped breastfeeding, so maybe less relaxin or slightly different foot shape? Anyway, would the Instant Wings help, or do I need to get fitted for a whole new shoe?

Thank you Eliza. Arguably the most innovative thing to happen to ballet. For those not amenable to Gaynor Minded pointe shoes: it is a travesty and almost criminal to cling on to 'tradition' for the sake of tradition and denying dancer athletes with the best tools to do their best work. Literally every other athletic profession uses cutting edge technology and invests in R&D to help improve performance and reduce injury. Ballet dancers deserve better!!

Could you start considering making pre-pointe shoes too? I think these product could help a lot of us aspiring adult ballerina to train our toes against resistance when pointing , as well as training a different type of balance even when we are flat on the floor.

will they ever try to produce in usa again, we make some of the best stuff here, and dont our ladies that are red white and blue deserve a shoe that also is and the finest made? we can print rockets for space, we can come up with a vaccine to a novel desease in 6 months, but we cant make pointe shoes or running shoes in the usa, of course they are a very specialized type of shoe and not just normal shoes especially with the box and shank aspect, but still, makes you wonder and makes you kind of sad how far we fell
