The 25 comes with a GPF that’s a gas particulate filter…. And you don’t want that. It reduces fuel milage and HP because it causes a lot of back pressure in the exhaust just like they do to a diesel motor. These Bronco Sports don’t get that great of mileage as it is. Especially the 2.0 4 banger. I have a fully loaded Badlands and the fuel mileage is not good. And that’s running in ECO mode and babying the throttle. These things are extremely noisy on the highway too. Road noise is terrible. The adaptive cruise leaves to much distance between you and the car in front of you and people keep pulling in between you and the adaptive cruise is constantly putting the brakes on to increase the distance between you and the car that just filled the big gap between you and the car you were following. And that’s with the setting set to run as close as possible to the car you are following. It’s a cool little vehicle but all those options just don’t work that well. Even the B&O Stereo system is no better than the standard system in my 2018 Colorado. The Bronco Sport is a great concept but Ford needs to put more effort into sound deadening and better performing options.

I see some of the posts here. Acting like if you say something bad about an engine you’re some kind of a-hole. I’m 72ys old. Had lots of vehicles in my life. Only had one vehicle that I had to work on the engine. I’ve got less than 50,000 miles on my Ram Promaster. Oil and air filters on a regular basis. Never,NEVER have I’ve had so many problems with my Pentasrar then I’ve had in the last year. Most of those problems are from the coolant tank that broke and water went into the #2 spark plug well. Common known problem with this engine. That is if I knew about this when I first bought it. Not even going to mention the drain on one and only drain on the cowl that’s put together in two pieces so there’s a gap in the middle that I had to fill to keep the rain water from dripping on to the engine. Oops I guess I did mention it. Let’s not forget the plastic intake manifold. I think some where I read 30% of the engine is made of plastic And how it takes a couple hours are so to take enough things apart just to change the spark plugs. I would say it’s a great engine. That’s just a few things. I love about this engine 😂

I do have the 2024 Traverse and the gas mileage I get is 24 city 35 highway... Yes, it is complicated, but they do come with a 6-year 100,000-mile warranty... And like anything new there will be a trial and error... But so far satisfied with the product...

@@thejmcGarage You may seriously doubt all you want but I do own one and I do get the mileage. I drive one daily, and the warranty is called an extended warranty. Also, anyone that knows about getting gas mileage on a vehicle should know the milage depends on the driver. A driver that drives sensible are the one with a heavy foot. So, I will say you are not telling the true facts of the everyday driver and someone that actually owns one.

I own a 2024 GMC Acadia Denali with this engine in it. There is more than enough power to accelerate to 70mph when going onto a freeway or to pass a vehicle on a 2 lane road. The only thing about it is that I expected to get better than 27mpg on the highway. Other than that, no issues so far.

Well these engines have been out now for at least 6 years and I have been looking for video's of known faults for in them. I have found just one, and that was a guy who strips dead engines and posts video's of it trying to find the cause of the failure in the process. The one he had was not out of a jeep but this engine is in many vehicles, with around 60,000 miles it had failed because of detonations caused by the engine oil leaking up past (being sprayed from underneath) piston rings and combusting together with the fuel mix. This had busted the piston rings and even blown parts off of one of the pistons. So either nobody is bothering to do video's on the reliability of these engines or they are on the whole pretty reliable.
@thejmcGarage
@thejmcGarage 9 күн бұрын
Actually I've seen that same video and from what was gathered that engine died because of pre destination not because of oil being sprayed under the piston
@Daveyboy1066
@Daveyboy1066 8 күн бұрын
@@thejmcGarage Yes I said it was detonation but the guy reconed the "detonations" were caused by engine oil which had leaded UP through the rings and part of the reason for that was the high pressure oil being sprayed up under the pistons together with out of tolerance rings. Watch it again, at the end of the day "something" caused the detonations.

I have also seen this failure on other such engines like Toyota engines on the car nut guy. Seems to be a common weakness of direct injection turbocharged engines which is why you will often hear how critical it is to do timely oil changes and use the correct specification oil which is specifically formulated to be resistant to such detinations. Having said that the super thin oils they seem to recomend these days cannot help.

I recently bought a 2024 Tundra. The dealer explicitly stated to me that the crankshaft bearing problem was fixed for 2024. He was underinformed or lying. The 2024s are blowing up, just like the 2023/2022s, and now there are reports of 2025's blowing up! What is a camel? It is a horse designed by a committee! That committee seems to be working on Toyota trucks. Instead of focusing on reliability in engineering and manufacturing, Toyota has focused on complicated, expensive and increasingly absurd trim items. Complexity is the enemy of reliability. Here is a great Care Care Nut analysis of the bearing problem: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6qsZaign92rq80si=kjGux5M Here is a report on the 2025's: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3rCan-Ilq93q5osi=puqoLfUpc4nvEizj

I then heard a click, reattached the hose, and a couple seconds later the systems on and I have heat! Real HVAC is coming in the morning.
