I made my website using Wordpress. I track my inventory, formulas, etc in databases I made on Notion. WP and Notion are both free. I save on packing by making my own box inserts (no peanuts) + candle boxes from cardstock at home using a Cricut. Also sticker paper from OnlineLabels is cheaper than Avery especially blank pages that you can cut with a Cricut. I got my COGS down to $4.27 per candle, that includes the candle, labels, packaging, care/promo cards. I use cocosoy. All this to say, you have to do/make a lot of stuff yourself if you want to see profit. I see packing vids on TikTok and I can quickly tell these SB owners aren’t keeping much for themselves 😢 Hope this helps! ❤

I only do a giveaway for Mother & Father's Day. That is the only time and g8ve them 4 Oz sizes with 2 different scents.

Before accepting payments always due your due diligence to learn he the underwriting guidelines with any financial institution folks. I totally agree with you and understand where you’re coming from. I moved from Chandler AZ to GA last year. I was blessed to find local vendors to buy supplies from but the prices aren’t even worth it at times. Even with me driving to pick them up myself 😩. Vending fees and all of the background fees we have made me say the same thing regarding it no longer being a business and more like a hobby at this point. I too make concrete vessels to cut costs I’m just not sure how long I want to do that. Being in GA there are so many other candle makers that I couldn’t even get into new markets even though my candles are dessert replicas. I’ve kind of given up and started making Resin products just to make some money when doing markets. Good luck to you all dealing with the struggle.
