On his Day...Waqar Younis was the fastest bowler on the Planet...I seen him bowling in the early 90's in Australia at the SCG... his pace and hostility was frightening...I travel and follow the tours regularly, and to this day I've never witnessed such a spell of outright speed in my 32 yrs of cricket touring!

overall consistency of insane pace-Brett Lee is still the King. Nobody bowled that fast, as consistently as he did.

Ask any gen x’er , no bowlers compare to Lille / Thompson, from the 70’s, they will always be the goats of fast bowling, Thompson was probably the fastest bowler of all time.

Shoaib bowled a lot of mess at these speeds but when he was on, it was breathtaking. Unplayable. My friend is Pakistani from Rawalpindi and he knows Akhtar and he told me he has had both his kneecaps replaced due to the decimation of them over the years doing what he did.

kinda stupid, the speed calculations they use in the modern era is calculated over the first metre after it leaves the bowlers hand...............when jeff thomson was measured, they calculated the average speed over the entire 22 yards, which means he was a good 5 km and hour faster than shoaib akhtar if measured by todays metrics...........basic maths gentlemen

Correction needed to title....10 Fastest RECORDED Bowls. To be more accurate and relevant the real indicator should be for the fastest average OVER bowled. The ambient conditions for each of these will be different meaning there is no level playing field. Same goes for the calibrations of the measurement devices.
