I can't figure out for the life of me how to make a mask, I tried so hard to do what you did, watched a ton of tutorials, but masking just doesn't work... Do you have any advice please? :( a mask sublayer just does not appear
@MorrisBarrier Жыл бұрын
The shortcut is Q but you have to have the footage selected or else it may just try to draw a shape. You'll know you've drawn a mask if everything outside of what you drew disappears from the screen. hope that helps. Good luck!

This was a great tutorial. I like the pace of how you show and explain things - not too fast, like so many other tutorials. It makes it easier to learn how to do it. I also like that you showed how to do text as well. Thanks so much for this!

Why did you rig it with all the nulls and points rather than just use a stroke with a trim path?
@MorrisBarrier Жыл бұрын
For a single line, yes. By all means use trim path only. This tutorial is for creating stripes. And at the time of this recording and perhaps even now, creating stripes isn't as easy as setting lines side by side. Try it and you'll see once you make them curve. So the null takes that into account.

Took a few tries because it was hard to understand what you were doing in the Project panel at 3:22...the checkmark on the Reset button which allowed the stroke style to be seen.

How do you import specific PDF pages on AE?
@MorrisBarrier2 жыл бұрын
You can't, probably. What you can do is just import the PDF then hit Q and mask out the other pages but the easiest thing to do is export the PDF as one page. AE doesn't know how to split up PDF docs.

Tutorial not very clear you forgot to precise a few things... When I click on "paint on transparent" the circle disapears.

Same here! Either its unchecked and the circle exists but the solid layer under it remains too, or its checked and both disappear entirely.

It does not work for me: 1) After copied-pasted circle to the "brush" layer, you said, the brush only occupies one frame, but mine occupied the entire time span. 2) To control the animation time, you open a lower-right panel with a bell shape white curve. But, my lower-right panel does not have this bell shape white curve. 3) On the left side of "End" (in Stoke Options), you button like "< o >". I do not have these buttons. Is there a way for me to send a screenshot to you?
