The Brush Tool in Adobe After Effects is a great but rarely used tool in the animation arsenal. Today, we will make use of this valuable tool in a tutorial created for beginners. Using the pen tool, you will create a path and animate it for your own purposes, whether it is to circle text or highlight an object using lines. I chose the brush tool over shape layers because the brush contours match those of a bold marker, giving it a completely different look. Enjoy this tutorial!

Took a few tries because it was hard to understand what you were doing in the Project panel at 3:22...the checkmark on the Reset button which allowed the stroke style to be seen.

Tutorial not very clear you forgot to precise a few things... When I click on "paint on transparent" the circle disapears.

Same here! Either its unchecked and the circle exists but the solid layer under it remains too, or its checked and both disappear entirely.

Are you on the RGBA color channel? I have a feeling this might be the problem.

It didn't work for me. When I pasted it, I didn't see highlighted circle pop up in the comp panel.

Did you double click the comp to enter the layer and then paste?

It does not work for me: 1) After copied-pasted circle to the "brush" layer, you said, the brush only occupies one frame, but mine occupied the entire time span. 2) To control the animation time, you open a lower-right panel with a bell shape white curve. But, my lower-right panel does not have this bell shape white curve. 3) On the left side of "End" (in Stoke Options), you button like "< o >". I do not have these buttons. Is there a way for me to send a screenshot to you?
