Basically, the adversary has been trying from the beginning to get humans and all other celestial beings to question God and His perfection, His goodness. And unfortunately he has succeeded many times. ☹️

Peter, I would love to attend your class and participate in discussions. I would like to point out a couple of things that I think you should think about… 1. In the story of genesis chapter 3, you seem to have fallen into the same trap that Eve did. You believe in the serpent instead of in an all knowing God. God created Eve in His image. She was perfect, but the serpent made her question that, he led her to believe she was lacking knowledge of good and evil. That’s what He still does! The serpent is the problem and the character that you’ve forgotten to evaluate in your series. When you start thinking about the serpent you realize God has an enemy, and we have been placed in the middle of the battlefield. There are times when for the sake of goodness God has intervened in order to prevent Evil from destroying the whole world or His chosen people. Peter, if you start considering Satan/Devil/Demons in these stories then you will also have a better understanding of who God is and how these stories can be interpreted in a different context- that of the battle of good vs evil. Just consider where humans may be a part of the problem and the solution…

Thanks a lot, Peter. If only the other souls with whom we share this earthly haven grasped this celestial message, the world would be mended in its entirety. As a collective, we would rise, the human race enlightened in unison. Picture a spiritual Utopia: Where hearts beat in harmony with the rhythm of the stars, And the whispers of wisdom drift on the wings of the breeze. In every corner, peace would plant its seeds, Blooming into gardens of compassion and understanding. The rivers would sing of unity, flowing freely, Merging our spirits in their crystal embrace. Mountains would echo with the laughter of newfound kinship, Reaching heights where only love can breathe. Under the canopy of shared dreams, we’d dance, Our steps synchronized with the pulse of the universe. Every dawn would herald a renaissance of the soul, Each dusk a reminder of our collective grace. With every human touch, the world would heal, Wounds soothed by the balm of empathy and grace. In this sacred Eden, we'd find our place, Bound by the light of a thousand sunrises. For in the embrace of divine understanding, We would weave a tapestry of celestial peace, Threads of golden enlightenment intertwined, Creating a sanctuary where all spirits thrive. In this spiritual Utopia, a cosmic truth unfurls: When we listen with our hearts and see with our souls, The world becomes a haven, a harmonious whole, A paradise of unity, where every spirit is free and whole. Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is, botanically speaking, a fruit salad. Knowledge is knowing this is also true of cucumbers. Intelligence is being able to argue this makes that amazing Greek tomato/cucumber salad is technically a fruit salad. As is pico de gallo. Wisdom is knowing that when you Mom says "Honey, can you bring a fruit salad to the 4th of July party?" that bringing a tomato/cucumber salad or pico de gallo, while technically correct, is not what she has in mind. I would add Hillel the Elder to your list of wisdom teachers.

A fact about Isha/Ishavasya Upanishad. It is the only Upanishad which is directly part of Samhita portion of Vedas. While other Upanishads like Brihadaranayaka, Chhandogya, Kena, Taittiriya, Aitreya, Svetashvatar, Mundaka, Katha, Mandukya, etc are parts of Brahmana or Aranyaka parts of Vedas. Each Upanishad is affiliated to a Veda/Vedic school. Isha Upanishad is 40th chapter of Shukla Yajurveda/White Yajurveda. The last chapter. It is related to Jnana Kanda(Or Knowledge portion) while the 1 to 39th Chapters are parts of Karma Kanda(Ritual/liturgical portion of Vedas). I love your teaching. It is so well done. However, you should leave a little more room for interpretation. For example, the story of Sodom’s destruction and Abraham’s bargaining with God could be interpreted this way: God was engaging with a human to show His character. He wanted to show Abraham that He had thought this through, and if there had been redeemable people in Sodom He wouldn’t destroy the city. It was not Abraham that convinced God He shouldn’t destroy Sodom if there were 10 good people there, it was God showing Abraham that He’s just and merciful. I question even if the only reason God saved Lot was for Abraham’s sake and not because Lot was just… as we see Lot’s wife didn’t make it and his two daughters were as devious as the sodomites they lived with…

Hindu Concept of God Personal God In general Hinduism considers God not just as the Supreme All-powerful Gigantic One, Who commands the humanity to tread the way He/She/It says, but also a personal God Whom the individual can worship out of love and not necessarily out of fear ! The fear brings one only upto certain point and beyond that it repels, but love takes through to the point. Devotion or bhakti as often referred to is a very key concept in Hinduism, even for the philosophically inclined ones. While the shashtras - be it vedas, Agamas, purANas - describe the Glory of God, one finds abundance of stotras that praise the God in love. God is Formless or with Form ? For Hindus God, as is, is beyond any attributes of form, color, shapes ... That is, God does not have any specific form or name. In this state God is referred to as nirguNa brahman (attributeless god). However God takes forms as perceived by humans and this perceived form is called saguNa brahman (god with (good) attributes). These forms could range from calm to fierce to yogic (1). Each form has its significance. For example when one is depressed and sees the form of God Strong and Powerful, the seeker feels the moral boost that God would definitely be the support for the right thing. Similarly when in an auspicious ceremony would like the God to be the calm provider of boons. In a spiritually elevated state, the choice would be the yogic form of God. The forms provide a basis for the Hindu worshipper to easily pursue the otherwise incomprehensible Supreme. So Hinduism supports both form as well as formless worship of the God. Whether one worships in saguNa or nirguNa way, it is ultimately the same God. Let us hail the God, Who does not have a name or a form or anything like that, by singing thousands of Its names! - thiruvAcakam Is there an evil force against God ? God is the Almighty and Supreme. So how can there be anything good or bad against It ? If the good things are the creation of God and bad things of some other evil force, will the gravitational force of the earth be attributed to God or the other force, as it is vital good element for us to live at the same time kills somebody who falls down from a high-rise building! In the system made by God, normally one gets to enjoy the good or bad things based on what have been their inclinations and the actions they made because of that. (This is called karma). There is no evil ( satan type) against God. In fact atharva veda puts it very clearly, "na dvitIyo na tR^itIyashchaturtho nApyuchyate na pa.nchamo na ShaShThaH saptamo nApyuchyate nAShTamo na navamo dashamo nApyuchyate ya etaM devamekavR^itaM veda" There is none second to It, neither third not even fourth. There is none fifth to It, neither sixth not even seventh. There is none eighth to It, neither ninth not even tenth. It is the only Supreme. This is to be known. The concept of good and bad things is at a lower level and that too in a different way than strictly good and evil. The divines called devas are the protectors and the essentials who support the worlds. For example, air, sun, moon, water, fire etc. Those who disrupt the life supporting mechanism are the daemons called asuras. The conflicts between the two often arise and the Hindu epics talk in detail about them. However it should be kept in mind that as specified in purANas all the devAs are not the perfect beings and the asuras the worthless evils. Is God in some heaven beyond ? God is not just something that stays in a far off heaven, who would be met with after death, if one gets to heaven etc. God is omnipresent. It is right in front of us. Oh, It is right inside us too. Well, It is in each and every minute of the minute particle present/void anywhere! Does It stay in a world beyond ? Of course It does there too. Very renowned gAyatri mantra hails the Supreme to be the earth, the world around and the skies beyond). One need not wait for the whole lifetime to get to meet God. The important concept in Hinduism is that God can be realized right here in this world and the God is not just Magnificent Almighty, but is also a sweet lovely One, with whom you can have a relationship - devotee, spouse, sibling, child, parent... God is not just in some heavens, It is right in us. It is both transcendental as well as intermixed in everything. Those who realize Its presence reap the grand reward. Those who say He resides up in the sky, say so; Those who say the Lord of divines residing down in the world beneath, say so. I would say, the Lord of wisdom, Who got His throat brightly adorned with the stain of poison, is residing in my heart ! (2) Is God a He ? Hinduism says, God is not just a He. It is beyond the created contours of gender. For this reason the scriptures very often use the term "It" to refer to God apart from using He and She. Especially when it comes to the Supreme in the natural state (Formless, Attributeless), they prefer It to He or She. The form of Lord ardhanArIshvara(3) clearly conveys that God is masculine, feminine and neuter. When the God is called the Lord of all creatures, It is the God irrespective of the gender, animal race, or whatever other differentiation one could think of. God is understood not only postulated The beauty of Hinduism is that the concept of God is tried to be understood, experienced. There are purANas that elaborately tell through the voice of the divines the glory of God. These are one part. On the other hand the scriptures like upaniShads analyze through questioning and reasoning the concept of God. These two types go very much hand in hand. Neither the divine glory limited to the reaches of the human mind with the purANa like scriptures telling the things beyond the normal human reach. At the same time they do not command a blind following of some super-human texts, but also very much permit analysis. The presence of a range of philosophies in Hindu system is the testimony of this. There are texts like yogasutras that cover the scope from reasoning to divine glory too. So the total and complete spectrum of human verification to super-human wisdom is richly available for the smooth progress of the follower in Hinduism. No need to be blind-folded, explore your way to the Supreme !! Those who did not get the deeper sense out, keep lecturing out the book-confined knowledge. - aRpudhath thiruvandhAdhi Source: shaivam website (org)

Comparisons are odious. Comparing two different things or two different religions is always incomplete, misleading, unproductive, and distasteful. Creation Hymn in the Rigveda seems to have caught the imagination of scholars and intellectuals around the world, who have read it, because, it is unique, and there is nothing like it anywhere else in the literatures of various other religions of the world. Vedic Religion: 4000 BCE to 2000 BCE. Its Sanskrit name is Sanatana Dharma or Eternal Religion. Sanatana Dharma continued after the end of the Vedic Age in 2000 BCE and is as vibrant as ever to this day. In English, Sanatana Dharma is popularly known as Hinduism.

The Supreme Soul, The Ocean of Knowledge, incorporeal God Father Shiva incarnates into the body of Brahma in Bharat (India) at the end of the World Drama Cycle. God speaks the murli through the lotus mouth of Brahma (the true Gita) This is remembered by the festival Shiv Ratri or Shiv Jayanti, the birthday of Shiva. His descent or incarnation is to purify the impure and to transform Hell into Heaven. This is also why He is remembered as the Purifier Father the Benefactor, and the Bestower of Salvation. Brahma will take birth as Krishna in the new world and rule the kingdom (The Golden Age) as Narayan after his inauguration with Lakshmi in year 1-1-1

God loves all the different religions? Tell that to the 450 prophets of Baal. What does it mean to be Christ-like? Jesus told Peter to buy the sword. This movie is one in many installments designed to silence the church. The goal is this: the church must coward themselves to the point where they are afraid to speak out against sin. The movie is a part of a larger movement to silence the church...Revelation 13 warns against this...and those powers at be are smart enough not to declare war in Christianity...so they have created a concept called Christian Nationalism.

Ive been having the most intense existential depression, struggling to find meaning in life and ending up in quite a nihilistic place. It led me to others who have experienced the same thing, and one suggested that i reacquaint myself with Brahman and with interdependant origination, and to go back and notice the truths within each group of thinking including the abrahamic religions despite me personally being agnostic. That led me to your channel! Which has worked wonderfully because youre putting structure and positivity to my exact thoughts and sharing wisdom that i couldnt possibly have obtained alone! Just wanted to note this because existential questioning can be scary as a human, but its also a beautiful and natural part of life, that can lead you to far deeper peace and understanding if you're willing to let it. I’m not familiar with that one. If it’s the same translation then yeah. Easwaran is way better than all the others. And thanks for watching. 🙏🏼

@@PeterBolland Hey Peter! thanks for the quick response. Ah it's actually 'The Bhagavad Gita For Daily Living' by Easwaran. Its's WAY longer, has full commentary ry it seems by Easwaran. I really love the way he speaks so I think I might go for that version. This would be my first read of a book like this but I really connect with what I've heard so far, largely thanks to you! I love how you describe and connect to the wisdom. Your book also sounds like a great fit for me so I'm think also to get a copy of that :) Thanks again

No purpose...jus begging gods and wanting Ill for their neighbours...trust me that's all they got..but as there is no authentic test, now vedas seems to becoming more adaptable in interpretations...no ancient traveller ever mentioned about Hinduism, instead about budhhism..Hindu word is non existent 😂😂 .not even sanatan dharma.Muslims called them Hindus prior that they were nameless..on 14th century adi shankara revive this Brahmin cult religion and superimposed it as Hinduism..before that there is no existence of Hinduism..but only budhism..word Dharma came from budhhist dhamma....

Thank you for posting this discussion Peter. We were out of town when we heard of this screening. Your thoughtful words on how the tolerance of the intolerant can lead to the termination (or repression) of the tolerant was spot on.Your words were the highlight of this discussion. I still remember your ethics class some 20 years ago...do we tolerant the KKK marching through our streets? I remember that from your class. Years later as a mother of a trans child I know I am no longer tolerant of the intolerant...I have seen the harm and and soul crushing despair that intolerance can inflict on others that are different. I was told by christians that they would love the sinner (my son) but hate the sin (a gay trans human). Who my child is... is not a sin. I was raised as a Catholic...but I no longer call myself a christian. I am a child of God...but I am loving Pope Francis too! Anyway....I love what you are doing and knowing you are out there opening minds brings me much joy!

In earth modern Humans are just 250000 years old. But before humans there are millions of great civilizations like humans are originated and destroyed in earth we are not first And vedas explained this deeply like Yugas theory. I think today humans are not capable of understanding Vedas theory may be after 3000- 4000 years we will understand. Just like 2000 years ago people are laughing on Vedic Vimana theory people believed this is impossible to flying any house like things. But today this is proved and Aircraft, plane's are flying. May be many things we will understand in future because vedas are countined form first life with deep knowledge. Har Har mahadev

@PeterBolland Absolutely! And since I'm on the topic, I grew up Christian, I'm wondering if there is veracity in Jesus having traveled to India before his ministry? And if you see much of Hindu thought in concepts that are attributed to Jesus in the gospels? I personally see a lot of Hinduism in Greek Philosophy, and I know that the Jewish world was Helenized by the Maccabees, and that Thomas the Twin traveled to Carala,.India after the Crucifixion. I know there is a lot here, but what do you make of it? Thanks!

Nature abhors a vacuum, and there's just so much we don't know about Jesus, especially between his birth and his 30th year. There's no evidence that he traveled to India, or anywhere for that matter, and in the vacuum people have inserted all sorts of wild speculation. What we do know is that during Jesus's lifetime there were thriving communities of Hindus and Buddhist in the major Near Eastern centers, and there's little doubt that an inquisitive fellow like Jesus could have run across Hindu and Buddhist ideas. It's plausible.

Cool, another possibility out of an infinite amount of possibilities. This concept is interesting but once they came with castes and karma, dharma, etc. the whole thing collapses into dogmatic, nihilistic bs. Evil even. This concept doesn't however answer anything or add anything to our lives and reality. It's beyond understanding anyway, and it doesn't explain the world with all its evils and kindness either.
