They are original pipes but the previous owner had them modified. Theres a company in the USA that you just send your pipes to and they send back an option of three modifications. Cant quite remember which these are. They sound great though.

Great! ;) Youre going to want to tune in to my upcoming Nose Hill Park Series then. Its not just about deer and coyotes. Due to the sheer size of the park many Calgarians like myself believe that in the unexplored interior there may be uncontacted indigenous tribes, and many rumored cryptid species. No roads, and in keeping with the theme of my channel, I'll explore it all on my Harley. You'll probably see me being interviewed by Joe Rogan at some point.

I wonder how those bike covers are in the snow
@mark-dietz
@mark-dietz 2 жыл бұрын
Its great. Ive seen it with 2 feet of snow on top and with blowing winds and no snow gets inside. I can brush snow off but cant shovel around the shelter as its up against a fence, so sometimes the snow actually seals it even more around the base. At the most, in the spring I can sometimes see a little water on the floor from the melting snow trickling in at the base. The cover you see here is the first one. Lasted about 5 yrs? 6 maybe, and I bought a new one last year. If I had more space I might have put a small roof to shield it from the sun. Thats what eventually weakened the roof material, constant direct sunlight on it. It was a canvas material and the new one is a thick vinyl and much better. Well worth it. The bike has never sat in the sun for long periods or been rained on while parked. Its added a lot of life to my bike.

@mark-dietz
@mark-dietz 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes Nakusp is very nice. Its secluded because of the ferries being almost the only way in and out. One highway will take you out but it would be the long way around for sure for most of ones travels. So its kind of a sleepy place. I sit on a bench where I took the pic, and most everyone will stop and chat. Refreshing after the hustle and bustle of city life. If you get the chance, GO, and look at a map of the whole kootenays. Many unique little towns and beautiful highways criss crossing the whole region. Right next to it, the Okanagan Valley which is California north. More population, and facilities, and more spectacular with desert hills turning to forest, all along a long thin Okanagan Lake. Wineries, shopping, nightlife, camping, bike trails, train adventures, Not to mention fresh fruit at your fingertips. Its got it all.

I just came home from the dealer where I was looking at this 2005 Deluxe. Went in asking about the new Street Bob, ended up convinced I want this! Sleeping on it tonight. Let's see what I decide. Awesome bike man! Do you still own it? How are you liking it?
@mark-dietz
@mark-dietz 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, yes I do still own it, and I LOVE this bike. Ive taken it through the Rocky Mountains 3 times now, all loaded down on some of the steepest highway passes, and it never even sneezes. I Know there are HDs with bigger engines now, but I feel no buyer remorse wishing I had more CCs. Its very comfy on the highway. I got a drivers backrest off the internet, because I have a bad back and I do very long days on it with no issues. Depends on you though. I could probably find a more comfy seat for long days, because I had a 2002 V Star that was pretty much a copy of this bike, with an incredibly comfy seat from Ultimate Comfort Seats. But I dont feel the need to change it. Its got a nice big tank, that Ive had up to 220 kilometers on and still didnt hit reserve, or got "the warning light" on this model, so Im sure Id get 260 out of a tank. Im 5 ft 8, and its like the bike was made for me, like a perfect pair of shoes or something, it just fits. I really have to think of cons, and they are nit picking for the sake of argument.... When it hot out and your crawling in traffic it can get hot on your inner thigh, but there is a shield you can buy. Still not a big enough issue for me to bother getting one. Its not a powerhouse of speed, but its a cruizer right? It passes just fine and if I wanted mind blowing speed Id buy a crotch rocket. I dont hate the brakes, but dont love them either. They could be double disk on the front for a bike that weighs 670 lbs, but they are adequate. The little back seat really is for decoration or for setting a travel bag on. If you take a girl for a ride with that, she wont be your girl afterward. But, back to buying a seat that suits you if this doesnt. I cant find anything in me that would tell you not to buy the bike. If its in good shape, looks well maintained, and you have nothing that makes you skittish, like huge miles on the odometer, buy it. I was lucky. The person I bought it from admitted that the bike was dropped on its side in the driveway. So I went to the dealer it was purchased from and they had the records of damage. It needed a new side mirror and a new rotor because the rotor had pressed up on a lawn sprinkler. All inspected, no real damage, and THEN the guy looks back further on the computer and says Oh wait a second, this was MIKES bike, and he sold it to who youre buying from! I said yeah? And? He said Mike is a long time customer who babys his bikes, and its only had 8000 kilometers put on it since he owned it...Then he said, Buy the bike! So you might want to ask if the dealer has records, it sure eased my mind. Anyway, I hope this helps, and I hope you buy a good ride in whichever model you choose! BTW what color or colors is the bike? CHEERS
@flavioespaillat31
@flavioespaillat31 3 жыл бұрын
@@mark-dietz Thanks for the details! Well, as far as the color, idk anymore because I think I am going to opt for a different Deluxe. The one I saw today, has 31k miles on it, and that would be fine with me but their asking for $12k! After looking around at 2 other HD dealers in my area, I see 2018-19-20s for $16-18k and just a few thousand miles on the Odo. I found some lower priced 2005s-6s but a VIN check revealed issues. Idk what I am going to do at this point but I am going to take a couple of months, looking around and checking things out. But I have to be honest, the Deluxe is calling my name! :D Initially, I was thinking 2021 Street Bob 114 or Lowrider S, but when I saw the Deluxe, that was it. Time will tell. But if I can get my hands on a 2018 (Black or White) with <5k miles for $16k, I am going to finance that thing! Thanks again man!

@@flavioespaillat31 Youre welcome. It pays to take your time. I looked for months before pulling the trigger. I bought this in 2018? I think? for 11000 Canadian (not sure where you are) and it only had 19000 km on it (11800 miles) so yeah that price might be a little steep. I forgot...another reason I bought it was that it has floorboards. I had a 2003 Lowrider beforehand and although it was an awesome bike, the forward pegs and a bad back were a bad combination. I always felt like I just needed to shift into another position all the time. Now I have the boards and highways pegs. Lots of position options. Just telling you that incase you dont have experience with FWD controls. Very comfy though, if you dont have a bad back. So good luck. The right one will come along. Cant wait for spring!

Summer nights we would visit our usual haunts and if we were bored we could just go sit on the steps of city hall and watch hot cars racing down Main St or every car club known to man would come through there. There was the HUGE square dance jamboree and the Billy Graham church came summer and set up a tent that covered half of Queens Park, along with all the cute American girls that got dragged along with their parents. Hi Lawrence. Thanks, Im well and looking forward to some riding weather. If youre looking into long haul stuff you should check out the trunk attachment from HD. I have one, plus a hard (but soft) kuryakyn rear seat bag which is actually more than enough for your basic long haul, plus theres room to bungie a quick change bag in between the trunk and seat bag...then I have my saddle bags, so to me this bike is perfect. I can just buzz around town and its small enough to be nimble or I can go full touring mode. Happy late birthday. Be well.
@smilingbiter
@smilingbiter 4 жыл бұрын
@@mark-dietz I've been thinking of using the large trunk used on the ultra's. I would make it an easy take off. I put a duel seat on my bike, the hammock, and get the passenger back rest and luggage carrier. I could use the available luggage on bothe the rack and passenger seat. I have always been a tenter so Unless the weather is really bad, I only tent. So far I've gotten the windshield, cruise control, passenger foot pegs rear crash bar, battery tender, Hammock seat and backrest, and Amazon hard saddlebags. The other thing I am considering is reach handlebars and maybe a hand bar heater. In 1976 I had a bike accident and ended up with a compound fracture of my right elbow. I can't completely straighten it so The reach may make it a little bit more comfortable. I want to ride for several months, the only thing holding me back is my wives breast cancer and my old dog who relies on me to take care of him. Glad your still a round, great hearing from you.
