Hi Jack, I share your good wishes towards Steve. Let's hope he can get back on here soon. I have a mint copy of that Laura Nyro album, but it's only the cover. My old favourite record shop (now closed) gave me the cover in the anticipation that I'd soon find a vinyl record to fit in it. About seven years later, I'm still looking. 🥴 I have managed to find OTHER Laura albums, but not this one! Can't go wrong with Wishbone Ash. The first three are 'WA', 'Pilgrimage', and 'Argus'. The latter one is considered their best, but 'Wishbone Four' and 'There's the Rub' are also superb. I don't have that Lucinda Williams album, but just a couple of weeks ago I bought her re-recording of her 'Sweet Old World'. She's made so many great albums. About 25 years ago, I had my one and only trip to the PNW, and recall Nanaimo having lots of totem poles in display around the town!

Thanks David. Trying to find records to put in empty covers is hard. I am looking for a Johnny Winter record like that. Perfect cover, but the record had a big bite out of it 😁. Just picked up WA There’s the Rub. Cheers.

Catching up with some VC videos Jack, and yours never disappoint! I'm like you: $10 or less is the way to go, and no shortage of great inventory to choose from. Big Laura Nyro fan myself, and New York Tendaberry is stark as you say, but the intimacy of the record grows after a few listens. Nice Garland Jeffreys - I need to get that one myself. Tracy Nelson - fantastic! I mention her as much as I can, and gave her 1974 release (on Atlantic) a big push on my Jt's Record Room contest entry for albums with food. 'Satisfied' is one Mother Earth I don't have yet. I've sent Steve my good thoughts as well - a great guy and and all around cheerleader and supporter of my channel since I'm just starting out in the VC. 😎 Best, Ed

Hi Jack, your sentiments on Steve were said beautifully. Thanks for that and my thoughts match yours. Ian Dury I am going to stream tonight based on your comments. You just turned me on to both Tom Robinson and TR band. I just snipped his songs off discogs and it sounds really good. The Marshall Tucker Band - Greatest Hits has been on my list for quite awhile. Can’t you see is such a great song. Your videos take me a long time to get through since I pause look up/ sample and ponder. Lastly the conditions of those records are incredible for the price.

Hi Jack, i had no idea Steve's channel was hacked, that is soul destroying as that happened to mine 18months ago. and having to start over is terrible but the love and support of the VC will encourage him im sure. i love that Ian Dury album. i have a couple of Marshall Tucker albums, theyre not bad. never heard of Tom Rrobinson but i love that album cover mate. i like Lucinda Williams but never seen that album. great pick ups mate, enjoy your listening, and enjoy your 'working holiday', safe trip - Lloyd

Hey Jack! You’re right, there weren’t too many female lead guitarists in 1972. Wow. Wishbone Ash “Argus” is the one you were thinking of. That and their live album are their best. Good luck with your son’s house! Take care and safe travels.

I remember seeing Marshall Tucker Band along with Firefall back in the late 70's. Great concert, and I still pick up things from them when I see them. I have that Wishbone Ash album, it's pretty good, but you don't see that one as often. I keep seeing Mother Earth records around, but for some reason, I've never picked any up even though I believe I would really like them. They seem to be right up my alley, and then try out some of Tracey Nelson solo records while I'm at it. Very nice Lucinda Williams record, nice find! Enjoy your time in Kingston, ON. I've heard that there are some great record stores there

Hello Jack. Shocked to hear what's happened to Steve.I'm sure the VC will rally round when he gets up and running again. Some nice finds. If you like the Sector 27 album you will also like the two TRB albums. I only discovered Laura Nyro a little while ago and I'm on the lookout for more of her albums. Another Steve Harley for your collection as well. Cheers Mike

Hi Jack. Loved the video and the different (to me) background. Thanks for updating us about our favorite Chicagoan. Upsetting but also slightly comforting, I thought it was a health issue and I don’t have means of contacting him. He has been very kind to me in his comments and advice. Cheers Jack.

I love Nanaimo bars. My wife learned to make them. So you’ll be able to see me get rounder in future vid’s. Onya for the shout out for Steve. Poor bugger. Love that photo of Ian Dury. Scotty Moore produced!! It’s gotta be good. That was a bit of a Mother Earth bender. Sounds like you’ve gotta lot of work ahead of you with you son. You’ll definitely deserve some records as a reward Jack. Cheers….Ben

Lucinda is playing here in Maine next month ! Haven’t gotten tickets yet, but plan on doing so. Use to listen to Tracy Nelson back in the day. My favorites would be Living With The Animals, Bring Me Home and Make A Joyful Noise. She started out as part of the 60’s folk revival. Been looking for her first album Deep Are The Roots recorded in 1965, which has Charlie Musselwhite on it, forever. Terrible to hear about All the Worlds A Stage. Hope he comes back soon. Thanks for sharing

I clicked because I thought we would see a cameo from Rachel. Dashed hopes. I am bummed by Steve's departure from YT. Inspired finds, as always. I have that Tom Robinson record. Cool Lucinda Williams LP. I am a fan! Have fun with the continuing renovations! You are probably just passing through Toronto, but if you happen to find yourself with free time while in TO, give me a buzz, of course 👍

I'm back ! I've heard about Baker Gurvitz before, I will listen in a few. Your showing one of my favorite Dave Mason albums from way way back ! Gordo's playing a Martin D-28 on that Don Quixote cover. In '75.. We waited for Blues For Allah to be released, there was a lot of hype about it here in Northern California / Nevada.
