Hey Leo I have a Question.. Is there any possible way in the future that AbelSet will ever have live volume fader adjuster capabilities that can allow any user to lower or higher any given channel on Ableton through AbelSet? Similarly to how certain Mixers have iPad apps to control Mixer faders from afar?

@@jorgeworshipfocus I've been meaning to add some customizable buttons and faders to AbleSet, but this might take a while. In the meantime, I'd recommend checking out TouchOSC. It's super flexible and should work for your use case.

So - hey my name is Steve - I have 2 Big Shows running with Ableton Playback Sessions in Session View. I'm very new here - Just discovered the page a few hours ago. So I have some very basic questions to understand the system. The Connection between iPad (AbleSet) and computers is done via Network (WiFi)? And then the pad recognizes Playaudio12 over the network - because it is connected to the Ableton Computers, am I right? So on bigger shows we have sometimes issues with the stage router. Any suggestions how to solve that or avoid that.🤔 I'm wondering how the Lyrics come to the band members? Ist that via Network and the Ableset app, too? Or is there a special reader app, to avoid playing with the wrong functions? 🙄

Hey Steve! That's correct, your iPad is connected to your computer via a network connection. This connection can either be wired via Ethernet or USB, or wireless via Wi-Fi if you have a good stage router. You could try using Ubiquiti routers - I've had good experiences with those so far, but if it's possible, I'd always recommend a wired connection over a wireless one to avoid interference by wireless mics, IEMs, and other signals in a venue. Your band members could also use a tablet or phone with a browser to access the lyrics as long as they're on the same network as your playback machines. If you don't want them to be able to control playback, you can set up a password within AbleSet. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions or feedback! :)

Hi Leo! I need your help! My 'Jump Mode' feature is not working. I've tried to switch my Jump Mode feature to "End of Section", but it still does not allow me to Jump to a different section. Can you help?

Hey there! To be able to jump to sections while Live is playing, you'll need to ensure that these sections have a locator. If you're using a sections track, you can have AbleSet automatically place locators at the start of each section clip. Leo, I can't get this controller to connect to my XioXM connected via the back of the box in HST 1, there's an RTP port connecting the XM to my PA1U, the songs still won't populate. Jeff mentioned to me to rename the HST port on the XM in Auracle and I did that, but still no luck!!

Hey Brandon! You don't need any Max for Live devices to use the Floor Vista with AbleSet - once you plug it in, it will work automatically. This also means that you can use Live Intro, Live Lite or Live Standard with the Floor Vista.

Hey Adam! Unfortunately, since the Stream Deck is not a MIDI controller, it can't be connected to both computers at once via a PlayAUDIO1U. However, by default, AbleSet forwards all commands from the Stream Deck to your other computer when AbleNet is enabled. To make this more robust and to account for AbleSet completely crashing on the machine your Stream Deck is connected to, you can set up the Bitfocus Companion integration to directly send all commands to both computers by adding their IP addresses in the configuration. Let me know if you have any further questions! :)

Hi. Can you set the section transition quantise (4 bars/2 bars/1 bar/ 2 beats etc) only globally, or can you do it by song or by section too? Thanks

For now, this can only be set globally, but setting the quantization per song or section sounds interesting! Would you like AbleSet to change the quantization when a new song or section is reached or rather before, when jumping to a given song or section? For the first case, you could create a workaround using OSC tracks: ableset.app/docs/osc-tracks/ Create a new OSC track and then place a clip spanning each song or section where you'd like to change the global quantization. Then name the clip **/global/quantization 1** where 1 is the number of bars. Allowed values are: 8, 4, 2, 1, 1/2, 1/2T, 1/4, 1/4T, 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/16T, 1/32, none I hope this helps! :)

Hi I hope someone can help me. I have redundant setup with 2 MacBook m1 connected to each other via ethernet and using ableset. The Ableton set on both laptops are exactly the same. Ablenet is enabled and everything else works i.e., play, stop, midi mapping etc. But when I go to change my playlist order it comes up with "The loaded Ableton projects seem to have different markers. Please load the same project on all computers to prevent playback inconsistencies. Would you still like to edit the setlist anyway? When I select 'ok' to edit, the 1st MacBook will change but not the second. I have tried re uploading same exact sets again but same problem. How do I fix this? Any help will be appreciated thanks. My setup: 2 x MacBook m1 Playaudio 1U Akai LPD8 controller Ableton Ableset

I prefer to directly hard wire my control surface to my Ableton Live session laptop through Ethernet (I try to avoid WiFi onstage if at all possible). If I connect two laptops running the same session using an Ethernet connection, can I ALSO connect the control surface using the same switch or router? Basically, will Ableset be able to sync the two computers AND receive the Ableset control data if I hard wire the entire setup...or am I obligated to use wifi for the control surface?

You can also hard-wire everything and still run AbleSet in a redundant setup, no need for WiFi :)

Hey Leo I’m confused about multi file projects. Why does it set up each whole ableton session as one song? Is there a way to set it up that it loads for example a session with 12 songs and then another 12 songs and you can create a setlist which loads the appropriate setlist? Right now it’s just open the sessions as if they were a song and I’m not able to see any of my markers.

Hey Desmond, unfortunately AbleSet currently only supports one song per project file. This is something I’d like to improve in a future version, but for now I’d recommend either merging the two project files into one or splitting them both into one project file per song.

what does the safemode does?

The Safe Mode disables jumping to a different song or section while Live is playing to prevent mistakes that might cause a song to be interrupted. I hope this helps :)

amazing software really happy with my purchase . could be nice to have a option to move inside the the song I mean to be able to jump few secs forward or backward . another cool option maybe is to add when u jump to next locater to play like a bar before that locater so for example I have a locater called chrous and I want to play it for the band , I want to be able to give them few secs before that section

That's a great suggestion! If you'd like AbleSet to place the locator a few bars before each section, you could take a look at the Count-In feature: ableset.app/docs/count-in/ Jumping forwards or backwards by a few seconds or bars isn't possible yet, but would be a great feature to have. I'll add it to my todo list!

Hey Leo. I'm planning to use Ableset on my next tour, it's been highly recommended by colleagues. I was wondering if at any point you are a planning to add a function to switch STOP to Song End Markers or vice versa in Realtime with midi mapping for toggling between the two options? This would make on the fly setlist changes even more flexible. Thank you.

Hello! Just got AbleSet and I'm loving it ❤I have a quick question though... is the 'jump between sections' option only available when the sections have locators? I've tried with 'MIDI Sections' but when the track is playing the sections and songs in the setlist view are greyed out (they do work when I click on the 'Place Locators on Section Clips' option). I'm testing this with a Multi-File project. Thank for your hard work and keep rockin'!🤘

Unfortunately, you currently need to have a locator at sections that you want to be able to jump to while Live is playing. This is due to a limitation with Live's third-party plugin system.

In my case, the message, (/notify/big all "pause in 5 sec") stays on the screen for a long time without disappearing, even with the short midi clip.

AbleSet just sends an OSC command when the beginning of a clip is reached - the length of OSC clips doesn't matter in this case. If you'd like to shorten the time that the message stays on screen, you can add it as an additional parameter in milliseconds. For example, to only show the notification for one second, send this command: /notify/big all "pause in 5 sec" 1000 Let me know if this works for you! :)

I'm glad you like the update! I could imagine adding an option to hide all song information from the performance page, which would leave you with just the lyrics on the left and the setlist on the right, along with playback controls that you can hide if you don't need them. Would that work for your use case?

@@ableset something like only displaying sections that are ‘jumpable’ (with an > marker) would be awesome aswell. That way you can cherrypick the jumpable sections beforehand and only see those ‘important’ buttons during playback.

After the update I can no longer see the duration of my songs in the setlist view anymore! I know I can use the square brackets and do it manually, but it was so much easier when Ableset did it it self just finding the time from start marker to end marker.. Tips anyone?

6:23 how did you make it switch so fast between the songs? With our setup it takes 5-8 Seconds to load the next song with ableton 12 and ableset

Enter Shikari use one big project file that contains all songs. This means that jumping between songs doesn't require loading a new project file, so it can happen instantly.

That's already possible using AbleSet's MIDI mapping and OSC features. You can assign buttons to solo or unsolo, mute or unmute, or toggle the state of the click track in the MIDI mapping settings, depending on what you need. Please let me know if you have any further questions! 😊

Hey Isaac, in this video, both computers are connected to the PlayAUDIO12 via USB using a USB-B to USB-C cable and to a router using Ethernet dongles. I hope this helps!

Hi Leo, thank you for this. This is amazing. However I can't can the position and the LTC time code. It's says N/A on the stream deck. I followed the steps in this video. Everything else works except the position and LTC time code. Is there a step I'm missing?

I'm glad you like it! Regarding the issue, could you check if you have the AbleSet Controller and LTC Display devices loaded in your Ableton project? They provide the information that is displayed on the Stream Deck.

@@SSPMusicGroupInc you can find the controller by going to AbleSet's settings menu and selecting "Get AbleSet Controller". This device requires either Live Suite or Live Standard with the Max for Live extension. To load it into your project, simply drag the file onto a track of your choice. I usually drag the device on my Master/Main track, but that's up to your preference. The LTC Display is a separate purchase. In my experience, guide track is still a problem regardin live jumping mode: end of section... would be better if guide tracks mute till the jumping is done.

Hello Leo, I have been expiriencing some dificulty regarding section clips... I created the new midi track, changed the name to Sections, ad the empty midi clips and renamed them... but nothing change on ableset setlist... I have tried with capital words for "Sections" track name, I tried adding the + sign before "Sections", nothing... I tried with markers, the locators works fine, but I want to try the sections Track alternative, I think thats a better approaching. Do you have any Idea whats happening?
