AHHHH, so good! Was literally thinking of auto-expand yesterday. Is there a way to auto-play from a Multi-Project File? Or to have the option to not have all the songs in the projects folder pop up, that way you can manually only add the ones you want to play (I’m a church musician, so being able to quickly add the 3 songs we’re doing that week from a folder library of songs we’ve already created tracks for)

Hey Cody, thank you for your kind words! Could you elaborate on the auto-play option for multi-file projects? Regarding the option to not show all available songs, if you go to the setlist edit mode, there's a toggle all the way at the bottom left, after the last song, that allows you to remove all songs from the setlist. After clicking that toggle, you can click on the button with the eye icon on the bottom right to hide all removed songs. The setlist should now be completely empty and you can use the Plus button to search for and add new songs. @@ableset Hey Leo! Continuously amazed by your hard work. To elaborate on the auto-play for multi-file projects… When putting a setlist together in the multi-file project, reaching the end of the song will auto-load the next project, however the play head won’t start playing the song until you hit space. This is time consuming only because you have to wait until the project is fully loaded before playing otherwise it won’t go. I could be missing something, but even though I have auto play enabled (when I have multiple songs in one project, it will automatically start playing the next one), it doesn’t start. When I have the “click auto play” feature enabled, where you click and it starts without you having to press play, on a new song in the multi-file set, it loads and then automatically starts playing right away, dramatically decreasing time between songs because it can fire as soon as it detects the project is loaded, instead of having a human try to do it. Does that make sense? I know my explanation is a little long-winded TLDR: Auto-play to start the next multi-file song in a set so you can press play once at the start of a set, and have tracks roll through the entire set start to finish with no breaks (aside from loading time) Thank you! -C

@@codywrightmusic thanks for elaborating! Since AbleSet can't read the markers of project files that aren't currently loaded in Live, it has to assume there's a STOP marker at the end of each song. I could add an option similar to "Always Stop at the End of Songs" that forces AbleSet to treat all STOP markers as SONG END markers and automatically load and play the next song once the playhead reaches the end of the current song. I'll add it to my to do list! In the meantime, let me know if you have any further questions or feedback :)

@@ableset thought of another use case at the church the other day. It would be great if ableset was able to make it so your computer never fell asleep. I don’t want to change the setting on my laptop so never turn off for battery and screen reasons, but if the keys player or drummer is running tracks, after rehearsal when we’re going on stage they need me to type in my password every time. Would be great if it just stayed on while the ableset application was open as an option. That and, if ableset somehow had the ability to open a pre-determined ableton project from a folder. That way I wouldn’t have to go digging through the ableton projects folder to find the one I need, it could just load with the setlist in ableton like prepared ahead of time. Just some thoughts, your work is amazing!

@@ableset I’m also not sure if those things are possible with my limited knowledge, and I fully understand if Ableset can’t control things in the OS or things of that nature, but couldn’t hurt to ask :D

I really like this program and will most likely purchase a copy. What I would like to know is if this is compatible with the midi ‘Oaktone’ product suggested by Will on his website. I really really like what your program does but I don’t want to have to use my laptop to start and stop songs when performing. Look forward to your reply. 😊

Hey John, thank you for your interest in AbleSet! AbleSet comes with a Max for Live device that you can load into your session to map incoming MIDI notes to playback commands. You can learn more about it here: ableset.app/docs/ableset-controller/ I assume the Oaktone controllers are MIDI controllers as well, so you should be able to map their buttons to AbleSet. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Hey Leo! This is awesome bought it right away. Just wondering if there's a way to transpose the chords done in chordpro format without having to rewrite them or add an additional track. We have multiple singers so they don't always sing the songs in the same key.

Hey Andy, you can transpose the chords of a song by adding a transpose attribute to the song marker, e.g. "My Song [+2]" to transpose it up two semitones. You should also be able to add this attribute to the name of the lyrics track if you’d like to transpose all songs. Hope this helps!

Hi Leo ，Glad to see your update.And I found the lyrics can not show emoji like ➡⬆↘↗⤴⤵,could you make it ?and more I found If I set the position mark and the track of SECTIONS the same time , they are in the same place, then I show the lyrics, when near the position mark it will jump to next section and can not see the next section's lyrics, but if I removed the position mark, only leave the SECTIONS track it will be OK,hope you optimized this, thanks .

Regarding your other question, could you elaborate on what you mean or send me an email with the project file you're experiencing this issue with to [e-mail]? Hi Leo, 1、the Visual Metronome I can Open the option but no color bar shows 2、When I am at the performance layout and open the Lyrics,the lyrics shows as gray bar not the text.

Hey Leo, thanks for your report! I forgot to mention this in the video, but the visual metronome requires AbleSet's latest Max for Live Controller device to be loaded somewhere in your session. This device transmits the metronome information to AbleSet while Live is playing. You can find it by clicking on "Get AbleSet Controller" in AbleSet's settings menu. Regarding your 2nd point, I just managed to reproduce this on my end and will release a bugfix update for this soon!

Currently, the visual metronome needs the AbleSet Controller Max for Live device to be loaded in your project file. This is a limitation with Live's API, unfortunately, and I hope they provide access to the information needed to make this work without this workaround in the future. You can find this device by opening AbleSet's status window, clicking the settings icon on the top right and then selecting "Get AbleSet Controller" in the dropdown menu. That's a good idea, I've added it to my to-do list! This could be pert of a per-device settings menu like the one the performance view already uses.

I have been looking for something else and found your app. It's terrific, and I love how user-friendly it is and how clean it looks. Congrats! It's a buy for me! Now, the question about 'something else' - would you consider adding a feature (or maybe do you know any manager/plugin that will be close enough) for a quick projects preview? What I mean by that: I have a lot of ideas for new songs, phrases, riffs, and rhythms, and I have been trying to develop a routine for creating quick sketches. And I would LOVE to browse the Ableton projects with audio preview while browsing samples. I know Ableton is not rendering the downmix audio file by itself when saving the project file, so I was thinking about the preview.mp3 / .aiff / .wav nested in the folder. And man… having a project manager like that? With tags, tempo, genre, and plugins used. Even if all of this would be a text field for the user. A progress bar? Notes for the next planned actions for this song? A thumbnail cover? Embedded links to YT or streaming services with working timestamps to save the snippets of inspirations with a note "make big drums like this!"? I have been using a lot of different project-managing apps, planners etc. Currently testing Capacities. But it looks like no one has thought about supporting audio creators. That's a cool idea! It might be a bit too much to integrate it into AbleSet and I'm just a solo developer so I'm not sure how long it would take for me to develop as a separate app, but I'd love to have something like that as well for our projects! If you ever find something that suits your needs, let me know!
