Loving your videos! Just wondering why you have 2 calendars in your class?

Girl are you explaining my year right now?! This was/is my first year and I am in 1st grade. It was SOOO hard. So much physical violence!! I feel like such a failure. I am going to a new school next year, but I was constantly hit, kicked, my hair was pulled, I was choked. My kids hurt each other so much. It is draining and sooo sad.

Hi, am new to your channel. Love the gumball machine. I have a question, do students buy the toys in it? My school doesn’t allow for us to take money from the kids. Does your school allow it?

I do something similar for my Kinders, but I rotate the boxes in their mailboxes (#1-30), so that no child has the same task each day. It ensures each child will use at least 20-25 of the boxes per month. I just wish I had those boxes. I will look out for them this year at Target or look around to see if I can find better ones than I currently have.

I've been going through my class library all year as a new teacher...hoping to get the books sorted this summer before school.

Why not just ask admin for a purchase order? I know many of you will laugh but I think there is more money than we think for classroom materials. The more teachers spend, the less school districts purchase. Please ask!

Great ideas. Would you say having one for each kid worked ideally? OR Could you see having morning choice bins for 2-3 kids per 1 bin? I have seen it done many ways, such as each kid gets their own bin, 1 bin per 2-3 kids and once there are 3 kids at that bin- that bin station is full, or 1 bin per table (5 kids per table). I am implementing bins this year and am trying to figure out what way I want to do it. I have also seen morning bins done MWF and paper morning work or handwriting practice is done on the other days.. So many options. What are your recommendations?

I absolutely love how organized you are! Please make sure to cover your book shelves with some type of curtain so your students won't be distracted by all there is to look at. Less is more when is comes to overstimulating young brains.
