Stating that Brightline is "off to a rocky start" is not a fair statement. That insinuates that Brightline has problems. Brightline is not the problem...it's the morons who fail to pay attention to all the warnings given before a train arrives.

Of course the solution would be to elevate the trains, avoiding grade crossings like they do on NYC, Chicago, and European countries, but that will never happen here. That's one reason we'll never have high speed rail in this country.

there is no way they won't build a pedestrian bridge over the highway to the mall... it won't even be that big of a bridge, it's easy!

Nice video. I also live in Fort Lauderdale. You don’t think they will build a pedestrian walkway from the aventura station?
@dccopeland64474 жыл бұрын
A pedestrian bridge is part of the plan. Construction has already began on the station. The bridge and station will also receive art from the Art in Public Spaces. The pedestrian bridge is looking for lighting to accentuate the "v" engineering structure.

Keep them coming! Interesting to see the site for Aventura station but surprised there is no walkway to the mall which I'm sure would be a source of traffic.
@LasOlasPix4 жыл бұрын
I have not seen site plans, so I am just speculating about that. The way the other stations are organized is that the entire area over the track is secure, and ticketing/check in is on the ground, which would be on the other side of Dixie Highway. So they need a bridge over Dixie Highway to get from ticketing to the secure waiting lobby. (Tickets are scanned to enter the lobby, and that is the only time.) Then there would have to be another bridge from there across US 1, which is very wide, just to get to the mall parking lot. I seriously doubt it would be worth the $Millions it would cost to construct that, and the cost of running more escalators. Not to mention the changes the mall would have to make and ongoing costs for them, like insurance. It makes sense to have a shuttle bus instead. Besides, I do not know how much longer the concept of a shopping mall is even going to last. In addition to working from home, everyone has learned how to shop from home.

if you ever watch Spitting Image, check out the episode "US Election Special (Part 1) ", which is on KZbin. Very funny sequence with Branson, Musk, Bezos etc. Hilarious. Branson could not have timed his cruise line launch any worse, so it will be interesting to see how well the empire holds up.

At crossings that have 2 or more tracks people get impatient & never expect a second train might be coming on the other track right after only one train passes. Instead they just go on ahead & cross over while the gates are still down for the last few seconds.

Is there an "IRS schedule" for the costs of renting/buying private/public transportation to go the places you want or need to go and do the things you want or need to do "at work" if you "commute" to your job by "privately-owned" railroad instead of driving your own vehicle? Or is that where the BIKE RACKS come in?
@deeremeyer17495 жыл бұрын
Boy it'd be GREAT TO LIVE AND/OR WORK ABOVE/NEXT TO A RAILROAD STATION....
@deeremeyer17495 жыл бұрын
There are no "private railroads" in the U.S. and if you want to find out IMPORTANT information its out there. How many people rode last week is not part of an SEC filing. If you want railroad info, check the FRA, Surface Transportation Board, Department of Transportation.... This is a fucking INFOMERCIAL.

I wish I was some kind of law enforcement official in Florida, Every person who violates a train crossing would be heavily fined ($500). Especially those who climbed on the train while it was Stopped, That actually is Trespassing.
@harrygruber23026 жыл бұрын
Why didn’t they elevate the tracks for the Bright Line train Like this you wouldn’t have a problem with accidents the train would be able to go at higher speeds. And even those going at street level there should be a high rot iron gate that you can’t cut

liked the vidio, other information you might add when reviewing stations is what public transportation is available, how far to areas of interest, are there cabs, and are rental cars available. I live in Pensacola and plan on making a trip this summer to Orlando to ride Amtrak to West Palm and ride Virgin trains to Miami.
