Looking forward to see more reports on the development of passenger rail in Florida! As an European I’m always fascinated by the American love for horns and bells...

If the quiet zones for Brightline/FEC are going to be like instituted in Martin county in the 1990s, I think, FEC just posted signs at crossings stating no horns on trains will be used. Back then I believe it was only night time maybe 6 pm to 6 am, do not remember exactly. It was welcome relief for all the condo/golf course communities in Hobe Sound and Port Salerno areas right along and near the tracks.

I went to meetings about two years ago where they said they would be improving fencing to implement quiet zones. Given the number of people who routinely cross the tracks all over the place, not just grade crossings, I don't see how they can silence the horns without fencing the tracks. Of course the engineer will sound the horn if they see people on or next to the tracks, quiet zone or no. But there are so many footpaths that cross the tracks, and people routinely walk on the tracks. That's why I want to go look for myself. There used to be "no train horn" signs around the Griffin Road Tri-Rail Amtrak station, in fact I went there a few months ago to get pictures but the signs are gone.

Great video!! But i have to pint out a typo in description. It says brightline service between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale starts this weekend. Its actually West Palm and Miami. Great videos as always and subscribed!!

Thanks! I fixed it. That's what happens when you do videos in the middle of the night!

Can you do a video about the percentage of train users? Or views of the users and also their views
@LasOlasPix6 жыл бұрын
I am going to do that. I ride the train every day and I have some observations I can share. It really is a great service, and I rarely hear anything negative from my fellow passengers.

why don't you upload anymore?
@LasOlasPix6 жыл бұрын
things have gotten really busy for me lately, and I have had equipment problems. (i.e. fancy new stuff that doesn't work like it should.) I stopped uploading until things settle down. I actually ride the brightline every day and I have accumulated a bunch of footage. So watch for that soon, and also on my railfan channel. I'll be back next week.

Great UPDATE video. I am starting to be a fan of yours. Maybe I can meet you at the Brightline Miami one day and get on one of your reports

I will be at the Miami station Saturday on the first train. I will be going back to Fort Lauderdale at 3 PM, but I don't think I will be at the station for the entire day. If you are around, look me up! I'll be the one walking around talking to an iPhone. (I am quite sure I will not be the only one!)

What time is the first train? I would be on it too, but I have a wedding to go to in the afternoon. But I could be there for the LAUNCH. I live across the street.

First train is 7:42 AM from fort lauderdale, in fact right now that is the ONLY train with seats available, the next available train is 9:42 PM (the last train). So if you want to go, book it right now!
