Nice video! I just ordered a Grade Comp. Can’t wait to get it. Sold my full suspension bike since I never get to ride it as intended. Looks like a great bike and was an amazing deal. How do you like the Sport Comp?
@thebikefam2 күн бұрын
I wish I had more time on it before now, but until this week the weather‘s been 120° in the day. The brakes are mediocre, everything else is great. I’ll make a proper video about it and what my plans are. Originally, I was going to put the GRX group set you’ve got on, but I think I’ll make some small upgrades and wait to see what happens with CUES. I haven’t had enough time on it to decide anything on the gear range in all honesty.
@marclayman87992 күн бұрын
@@thebikefam I won’t have mine for another week. Gamble not being able to ride it or test fit. Looked at quite a few other bikes, mechanical disc were bad on all of them. Excited for GRX groupset and hydro brakes. Sale price blew everything away. Probably should have spent more and gotten the Carbon model lol
@thebikefam2 күн бұрын
All my thoughts as well. I have a large GT aggressor, so I went with a large grade. Seems to fit well. Hydraulic brakes, I don’t know how much better they are… But in my hand, they feel amazing, so ultimately that’s what I’d like to have. I picked up some brake calipers I’ll try out this week I hope they are as good as they look

I've been going back and forth with deciding on which color to go for. I'd pretty much settled on the red bike (day-glo orange in reality) until viewing this video whereby the yellow logo on the after-market Maxxis tires looks awesome with the yellow bike!
@thebikefam8 күн бұрын
I actually purchased the orange/red but for whatever reason I never received it. Honestly, I’m glad, the yellow is awesome.
@sambagogo7778 күн бұрын
@@thebikefam Absolutely. It's of course subjective but the yellow when coupled with those after-market tires is the winning combination for me. I'd be swapping out the yellow grips for black ones to match the seat, tires and stem though. Yes, I'd be removing all of the pads because to me BMX have always too kiddie with the pads on. Albeit in this specific instance I might leave on the top tube pad as its mostly black color neatly breaks up the large expanse of yellow by just enough to look good in tandem with the aforementioned other black parts.
@thebikefam8 күн бұрын
Yeah, it’s my wife’s bike, there are a few things I would do, but this is how she likes it. I did insist on the handlebars, and since she likes the grips, I got some black and yellow grip donuts. I’m not sure if they were in that video, but they look sweet

Hi guys, looks like you did a good job, only issue is that by having a 40t cog as the lowest gear on the back and what seemed to be a 30t chainring you are effectively having a lowest ratio of 0,75 which may be insufficient if you are planning to go uphill on challenging routes
