I heard on the radio a bolder dropped on the middle of the road in Colorado it saved us in a heart beat we were doing 65 mph in a 65 MPH road everyone slowed down even the 4 wheelers where slowing down after a ton of vehicles flashing their lights at us and truckers honking horns flashing lights.

I saw zero comments, so I thought you might want an actual opinion from a mediocre trained welder. If that was your 4th pass then it's not too bad of a cap weld. If that was your only pass, then you didn't get any penetration and wide surface weld is going to take increased side load due to leverage because it is mostly sitting on top the steel. You might have wanted to grind a V into break and filled it to create a stronger join.

@6shooterloggingandtrucking10410 ай бұрын
Sometimes mine won't down shift from 10th if the rpm gets to low if you catch it before it pulls down to much I'll hit manual and down shift or I'll hit the clutch a couple seconds and it'll down shift to 8th or maybe 7th depending how much it's pulled down. Hope it helps

Mine was doing the same exact thing staying stuck in 10th gear had to turn it off to reset. Mechanic diagnosed it and said it was the position sensor($150) on top of the transmission. I just bought it hoping that’s all it is.

Thanks for making the video. I have had a couple cutting done and viewed from the ground as expected. I filmed with my cell phone from a distance and while hiding behind a tree.😅 I never liked taking chances. I always wondered what was going on inside the cab. I saw that ding in your windshield. Did a rock kickback on you? That must be some thick safety glass. I know that many loggers lease their equipment, but do know approximately how much a new feller buncher costs? I see you got your wish to have some drone footage. Nice. Thanks again
@6shooterloggingandtrucking10410 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it , ya little rocks and chunks of wood will get thrown back and hit the windshield lol . We've never bought anything new but I've heard new skidders are about 300k so I'm guessing a new feller would be 250k to 300k
@tompalmer308410 ай бұрын
I couldn't imagine buying a new one and then taking it to the woods to put it through the hell and high water you men put them through. Like I heard a used car dealer say " Everyone drives a used car". I imagine a buyer takes a huge hit just like car buyers. Takes a little while to pay one off for sure. How to so take off in one? Mine bucks like a bronco and acts like it wants to stall… I let out of the clutch slow until I feel it grab and then I let off the brake and the clutch and start giving it gas. Also, what’s the technique for starting on hills?
@6shooterloggingandtrucking104 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I just ease off the clutch and give it gas easy, mine usually starts off in 2nd gear maybe yours is starting in a higher gear or something?
