My sister yells at me to put my phone away even when we’re in public, my mom yelled at me and told me to stop reading everything on the internet cause a lot of it is propaganda, misinformation, or really dumb. But, I’m pretty much on the same boat everyone else is in when I say that I too wish the internet went back to the early days when you can have civil discussions online and meet people while expressing your creative side and sharing pictures of cats and dogs. I hate how the internet is now and days. Everyone seems so narcissistic and mean spirited, you’re constantly flooded with negativity, there’s drama happening either with an industry or a online community, and you can’t even have a discussion or disagree with people without them getting upset and deeming you toxic or problematic. Also yeah with the AI craze, you truly begin to question what’s real or what’s not online as well.

he mentioned the reason for his slow gains may be his diet, unrealistic expectations, inconsistency or not working hard enough, its possible that he may be working too hard, its not something people seem to mention alot. just from personal experience, i was working out 6 days a week hitting personal bests with a great diet and sleep, however, i gained more muscle mass and got leaner when i switched to 2 days a week, mike mentzer recommended 1 workout every 4 days with intense workouts, allowing the whole body to recover, despite only training legs on a monday for example, you must wait till friday to train chest and back because the whole body needs to recover and lack of soreness is not a good indicator for a fully recovered body, i was allowing the body to recover while also allowing for high intensity quality workouts, whereas before i was probably just getting the reps in and sacrificing real quality workouts and proper recovery.

I think the best solution is eat more proteins , buy gymnastic rings it will humble you. You will see some gains because it’s unstable so it reveals your weaknesses so it recruits more muscle fibres. You will struggle the 1st month and will be noticing more strength and muscle gains.

eating more protein only helps up to a certain point - if you're essentially still in caloric maintenance or deficit, you're not generally going to build much mass regardless.

Gains in strength highly depend on the compound selection. You have to ask yourself in the most critical manner why since their invention and synthesis they have been used by every single elite Olympic strength based team and athlete in order to absolutely smoke their competition. If you haven't, you should definitely watch "Icarus", it's incredibly thrilling as well as truly eye-opening in terms of really revealing the the true extent of anabolic use. Also, you have top tier genetics as well as phenomenal work ethic my friend. Im afraid you can't paint celebrities with insane time constraints and MILLIONS OF DOLLARS on the line with the same brush as yourself... I want to believe just as much as you do bro, its just so unlikely these days man... Finally, as one relevant example in terms of doping in general, take professional football/soccer players for example, isnt it strange that as of the last two years over 80% of these pro soccer players have suddenly developed adult onset asthma?? All of the treatments for which are banned performance enhancing drugs...

Took me probably 6 months just to get back to where I was. I guess each person is different but for me nothing yields the same results as squats for my legs. The thing is I can't find any study that would compare back work and direct biceps work mesuring hyperthrophy. But extrapolating knowledge of correlation between how close to failure the muscle is at the end of set and muscle hyperthrophy, we can estimate just how much gains we can expect from compound lifts. if we talk about pull ups for example, we should also take into account resistance curve, bcs exposing muscles to high tension under stretch results in 5-10% additional growth. So I we could esstimate, if we modify technique such that biceps will be 1-3 reps from failure when lats fail completely than we can probly get most of the gains of direct arm work. Unfortunatly dew to the resistance curve we cannot take advantige of strech medieted hypertrophy, but it should be comparable to standard curls. Therefore I would be confident in saying, if you do sufficent amount of back work with right technique you could expect 70-80% of potencional biceps gains? You could use these principles to determine the effectivnes for triceps as well I think you would arrive on 80-90% of gains, dew to abundance of compounds lift you probly do that use triceps and their resistance curves, except for the long head which greatly benefits from overhead extentiuons. So you are correct that you can get most of gains without direct work, but you should take the effort to modify the lifts so you can get most out of them for the arms.

I actually think training arms is a bit like training calves. At some point, you just won't grow due to genetic limits. I have huge calves, naturally. Very large, rounded, lean looking. But most people couldn't train in such a way to give them my calves. I do a little tiny bit of training, but all my calf mass was basically there since I was an adult. I think that you will get the bulk of your mass, in your arms, from using them extensively as secondary muscles to major lifts for your chest and back, then get very minor results from direct arm exercises. All of this is assuming the average person is natural, none of this applies when PEDs are in use. Bodybuilders on PEDs can clearly get much larger than the average person.
@TheHimboProject
@TheHimboProject 2 ай бұрын
likely some truth to this! that said, I'll definitely admit that I've often in the past thought that I "reached my limits" when it came to calves/arms, only to find that I was still able to keep growing with a bit more consistent/focused/smarter training, so it's certainly not a "genetics = destiny" situation only

I work from home, mostly on my notebook tablet PC. So I can walk many steps. I have been doing 40k steps per day constantly. A lot of it depends on mainly 1) the time you have to dedicate to do it and 2) your level of cardiovascular fitness. I regularly bike for cardio health and fitness so people like me have built it up from years of biking. For me I have very little fatigue from 40k steps. But I only do it for a few weeks at a time for small aggressive cuts. And I cycle them. I find that I can comfortably do 25k steps daily. 40 takes a bit more work but still is fairly low fatigue for me. I think people who are not used to cardio and have not built up tier cardio based add too many steps in too fast and that’s where they get fatigued. I burn about 1700-2000 cal per day walking 40k steps at 194 6’4”. It allows me to eat a lot more while cutting rapidly. Even at 25k steps per day I still can eat a decent amount and still lose decent weight after my bulks. Without steps, I have to cut on 2500k or less calories to lose weight. The constrained model of energy expenditure is a flawed model because the amount of calories it conserves is NOT linear. Otherwise concentration camp victims or pro athlete cyclists would not all be thin. But there is good literature refuting that model. What actually happens is your body conserves a certain amount of calories *up to a point* and then that’s it. There is a limited. It will generally conserve a few 100 calories on average. To me it sounds like you went into steps too quickly without building a good cardio base or level of fitness. If you try to burn that much off from running you’ll likely be more fatigued and have more wear on your knees as you age. At least try biking if you want to do something that burns calories faster with less wear on the joints. But walking burns mostly fat and is less intense so it won’t cause the hunger spikes like higher intensity cardio will. But again, most ppl have to slowly work up to that level of fitness as with any cardio.

Have you ever experimented with splitting up the volume/frequency? As in, rather than doing full body twice a week, doing it legs (squats), push (bench), pull (back) twice a week with one rest day a week?
