What year is your Crosstrek? My husband and I just drove our Crosstrek out to Utah from Cleveland. Love it there!!! And i love this Subaru! Realized how well it off-roads! It drives well in sand and down steep mountains out there!

The only problem with cans is that the gauge only reads low side pressure. The high side pressure is also important. You definitely don't want to crank the low side to 50psi if you don't know where the high side pressure is. That's a great way to blow up an AC system. The Subaru Crosstrek/Impreza/Forester AC systems all have the same issue. Where the compressor will buzz loudly. And the AC will start getting warm. Common leak is at the expansion valve. Just look at where the AC lines go into the firewall. You'll see dye around there.

AAA plus plan gets you a 100 mile tow. I get the best quality tires I can and leave the spare and jack at home. Offloading weight and adding much more storage space makes sense to me. Haven't had a flat in decades. The storage area (previous spare tire compartment) is huge in my 2018 RAV 4. It's cool sleeping on the road when necessary. I hate hotel rooms! "Shelter line stretchin' round the corner, welcome to the new world order". Would love a really good estimate of the number of Americans now calling their car "home". Small SUV's are perfect for being "stealth". I enjoyed your video.

The rear seats are approx. 40 lbs total (10 lbs bottom cushion, 30 lbs backrest).

Thule Force XT Large (amzn.to/44Yvz3k) - you can check sizes & dimensions on the Thule website! Ensure that your crossbars are long enough to fit both. I also had some trouble mounting the box around the crossbar mounts.

I have a 2019 Crosstrek and I couldn't get the back part of the seat to come out. It seems like those pins are too long to slide out of the sides, like i'd have to remove the plastic housing.. I slid it off the middle bolt like you showed.. Wondering if they changed something from 2017 to 2019?

Nevermind. I figured it out. I needed to remove the two bolts on the smaller section that connects it to the larger section, then was able to take out each side individually.

as a 2nd subaru owner i would never use the spare tire as the difference in circumference will ruin your transmission in a short amount of time. i would use a plug kit in the rare event that i get a flat

I was driving up in the Colorado mountains during a snowstorm amd decided to pull off to the right to sleep. When i woke up, it was still snowing, and when i opened my door, my feet were dangling. I thought i had pulled to the right, but with the twists of the moutnain road, i was still too far over the on the left and on the wrong edge of the mountain road.

Will the airbag system deploy if the srs system light is illuminated on the dash? I took out my seat and plan to drive without it but I am worried the airbag system will not function properly in an accident.

@kurtdewittphoto I called a Subaru Dealership, and they told me that my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek will deploy airbags without the passenger seat. They also said the two little lights on the dashboard would not go away. The passenger seatbelt light and the red square exclamation mark doesnt go away. Hope that helps.

The seatbt trick didn't work for me. Mine is 2016. I tried twice. Do you know if I leave a side door open for hours, will it kill the battery? My interior lights are always off

1.Turn the key to On position, do not start it. (2 clicks forward) 2. Wait till the first set of chimes starts. 3. Quickly take your drivers side seatbelt buckle and insert and remove into latch exactly 20 times within 30 seconds. Don't rush it, just make sure to fully insert the tab all the way into the latch each time. You should end with the seatbelt unbuckled. 4. After 20 times, turn key to off, and remove key, then try turning back on and starting vehicle.

I have left my doors open for several hours with no issues. Just ensure that all lights are off, including the one in your hatch!

Might not be a good idea if you have the airbag system hooked up, looks like the airbag would depoly next to your head instead of on the window side..

It’s a Curt Cargo Basket and it doesn’t come with the license plate holder. Both were purchased from Amazon! I’ll post the links soon.

@@bearlycamping It’s actually a flexible silicone license plate holder that I zip-tied to the cargo basket. The zip ties go through the screw holes in the plate and the silicone holder just adds sounds dampening.

No, I did not do that! I’ve had no issues, but if it’s in the manual it’s probably a good idea to wait.

Yes, it’s a TableMate II. The monitor was on an arm mount clamped to the plywood sheet, but I no longer have it in my car! You should check out the new build on my channel.
