I would've loved to have gone to Disneyland and met Aunt Jemima as a little kid. My grandma made me an Aunt Jemima sock puppet. It was a black sock, and she sewed on a red bonnet, dress, button eyes. It's still around somewhere. There were no negative racist connotations with it. I wasn't raised to look down on black people. She was just the cute lady on the syrup bottle and grandma thought I'd enjoy that.😄

I went to Disney in middle school in 2005 and absolutely loved pin trading. It was one of the highlights of my vacation. I've wanted to go back to a Disney park for a while and bring my collection from 20 years ago, but hadn't heard much about pin trading in recent years. I know this video was posted before pandemic, but is pin trading something that still goes on in the parks?

Something interesting about the haunted mansion holiday’s evolution is that it had a completely different soundtrack in its first year due to rights issues. They scrapped this version of the soundtrack in 2002 when they got the rights to use the songs from the film but a few tracks from the original version are still in the ride, mainly the original attic music being used now in the crypt/Oogie Boogie scene.
