no disrespect to you at all, but i hate people saying that 'he broke up with her, he shouldn't be sad because it was his decision to end it,' for two reasons, one because it's completely speculation and there's no evidence to how true it is whatsoever, and two because the statement in itself is false, immature, and lacking any nuance. there was an 'inside source' who was never classified- do you know how easy it would be for me to lie and say i, presenting myself as the inside source, said, let's say, ariana grande confessed her feelings for shawn mendes and admits that she wished she never got married, and do you know how quickly the public would eat that up?- and there is absolutely zero proof in shawn or camila's actions (what i personally know) that backs up this statement truly. also this statement from the 'inside source' has gotten horribly twisted by the public, to the point where i see large amounts of people saying that he broke up with her because he was 'bored'. it's also stupid because these people only know the outermost, superficial details of this event, though i'm not trying to say i know more than surface level details of what happened because no one except shawn and camila know what actually happened, and if they spent a minute of their time watching a single interview from either of the two, it would become clear that their break up was mutual and was for the better of themselves as individuals. secondly, even if it was true that shawn broke up with camila and doesn't 'deserve to feel sad', that statement just gives me such middle school relationship vibes, if you understand what i'm saying. it is okay to leave something and still miss it. i don't know when it ever became not okay. the people who say that sound like they've never been in an actual relationship, never experienced the complexity, feelings, and authenticity that comes with being with someone you love for such a long time, and they expect shawn, in this hypothetical situation that he did in fact break up with her, to not miss the person that was such a huge part in his life for 7 years at all? there's another layer to them missing each other, one as romantic partners, but another as best friends, which they'd been for years before ever considering a romantic relationship. somethings that people say and make up are just nonsense truthfully, it's absurd to me how half the things that get tossed around are actually absorbed and trusted by people like they are.
