This album, back in maybe 78? 79? Changed my life forever. As a teenager, 15, 16 years old, I was a sponge for music, wide open, discovering new stuff all the time. When I heard this, I was like, "WOW, this is really different!!!" Took me a while to really learn it, as Todd's music was so different than the usual mainstream top 40 radio garbage out there. Yep, to this day, one of my all-time fave live albums. As a kid I honed my emerging drumming skills to this album too. Learned it song to song, front and back!!! I have two CD copies of it and a double vinyl version. I LOVE TODD. When I have to set up questions to confirm my identity logging into a website.... the question who is your favorite musical artist? I don't even have to think about it.

One of the best songs about modern religion ever. Because he’s such a musical wizard (😉) Todd’s themes aren’t paid as much weight as Dylan or Paul Simon but he’s a sharp observer of modern society and actually very profound.

I once heard the phrase "Todd is God" Equating Todd Rundgren to Eric Clapton. As a songwriter Todd is better than God= Eric Clapton

I was born in 1955 and I graduated from high school in 1973 when this song came out. I had forgotten about this song until I heard it recently in the movie, Paul. I am here listening to Hello It's Me, January 4, 2025. HAPPY NEW YEAR! I wish I had a Time Machine to travel back to the beginning on 1970 when I entered the 10th grade in the Fall of September 1970. I remember seeing this on a Friday night watching Midnight Special. I always watched The Midnight Special on NBC on Friday nights back in the early 70's. I truly miss those days and I will be 70 years old June 26, 2025.

I remember this tour and was amazed at how it did not get the press it should have. I always liked how Todd used that Philly influence in his music independently of whatever his current project was. Utopia was unique in that all members were great singers.

I had never heard this before and it was late at night at the shop and I was alone. I had a bunch of CNC machines up and running. I don't know what station I had on, it was satellite, and this came on. I cranked it, it went well with the machines. I was quite surprised when I found out who it was!

Mvg.
