Funny enough vanilla buttercream cake is actually my favorite cake my family always get it on my birthday, but if your kid wants chocolate cake then give them chocolate, it’s thier birthday not yours? Another thing this short film is amazing, the acting in all , it’s just brilliant!!

Oddities and details I’ve found: That wasn’t a Babe Ruth baseball card, but Mike Scioscia. Babe Ruth died of cancer. In the flashes, there was foreshadowing of the mother’s death. The TV had an image of her being drug down the hall. Under the father’s Navy photo, there were the books “Mommie Dearest” (about an abusive mother), and a Hitchcock magazine from 1971. The knife was already bloody, even when she was in the kitchen getting it ready. His cup had “mom” written on it. In the picture on the wall behind him, the father and son were smiling and happy, but the mother was not. There was blood on the shovel before he started digging, but that could have easily been from his blood covered hands picking it up. When you see the father’s body, his neck is very bloody and it appears as though his throat was cut. The father is wearing exactly the same clothes when his body is found as he was wearing in the picture in the house (top shirt open, showing undershirt in both).

This is brilliant. In modern society this honestly terrifies me. Also, love the filming angles like the shovel dragging over the axe/tool, really nice touch. And the garage light swinging. Really great touches that totally build the anticipation and uneasiness of the situation. I do think its really interesting that everyone is so understanding, to the point of justification, for his murder. Interesting that society has come to a place where people recognize theres always a back story, and try to understand others. But also Interesting that everyone instinctively picks up on the films cue/forshadowing to blame the mother!

Honestly, the dad doesn't sound like he was a great husband either, not wanting her to have a garden. Don't know that it was worth killing him over, though. This "kid" had awful parents.
