The mix of steep climbs and stunning views makes this ride so appealing. It’s a great way to experience the mountains from home.

Thanx guys...but it makes me sad that you don't want to introduce the “Which route have I already driven” function. If you have made dozens of journeys (or 100+), it becomes very confusing to constantly switch back and forth. There was a suggestion to switch to 'Training Log'. Sorry, far too confusing. Too bad, I probably won't renew my subscription when it expires. I'm not the only one who would like this feature. Zwift, Rouvy & Co. install something like this...

Another excellent cycle!! I did Col de Biche in July which is very similar being a few miles north along the eastern side. But I couldn’t then go up GC from west due to a road closure issue- locals were helpful but firm it wasn’t accessible even on a bike!

Thank you for posting. You make my morning workouts much better. That you put one up from the Faroes is such a pleasant surprise. I was watching your one from Iceland, thinking how it reminded me of the Faroes.
@BiketheWorld2 ай бұрын
Glad you like them!
@mountaindew71902 ай бұрын
As someone who is half Faroese and lived there when I was younger it always continues to astound me that people consider it to be a tourist destination now. The years spent living there were cold dark and generally unpleasant. I could count on one hand the amount of days the temperature was above 70 F. Never above 80F. Mostly rainy dark, and cold, although in the summer it really never gets dark. Still is cold though... Barren landscape. One time a storm blew my Dad's Landrover over a guardrail down an embankment....Faroese food is pretty bad as well, unless you love boiled fish and potatoes. Maybe some pilot whale breaks the monotony, although I refused to eat that. The kids there eat dried leg of lamb like candy. It smells terrible. Bring warm clothes if you visit.

Please remember to mark the completed journeys in Open Road? Many people have been waiting a long time for this... It helps to keep things clear. It would be enough if you could mark them yourself (also retroactively older journeys)

I quite enjoy the videos you make Some of these silent ones, do you have them with natural sounds as well? Those are the videos i use more, because they are more immersive

Yes, there are also videos with natural sound. Try to look into the videos from the Netherlands. Most of them have sound.

From chat GPT because I didn’t know The large areas of land in Great Britain without trees are a result of several historical and environmental factors: 1. Deforestation for Agriculture: Large-scale tree clearance occurred over centuries to make way for agriculture. Beginning in prehistoric times, forests were cleared for farming and grazing land, which expanded throughout the Middle Ages. 2. Industrial Revolution: During the Industrial Revolution, vast amounts of timber were used for shipbuilding, charcoal production, and construction, leading to further deforestation. 3. Sheep Farming: In many upland areas, sheep farming, which requires open, grassy land, contributed to the suppression of tree regrowth. Sheep eat young tree shoots, preventing natural reforestation. 4. Peat Bogs and Moorland: Some areas, particularly in Scotland and northern England, consist of peat bogs and moorland. These ecosystems are not suitable for dense forest cover due to poor soil conditions and high water retention. 5. Climate and Natural Factors: The cool, wet climate in some regions, especially in the uplands, limits tree growth, favoring grasses and shrubs instead. Furthermore, areas exposed to high winds or located on poor soil are naturally less forested. Efforts are underway to restore woodlands in some areas, but the legacy of centuries of land use and climate factors still plays a major role in the distribution of trees across Great Britain.
