Our ride to Kinderdijk and its surrounding area takes you through the iconic polder (land below sea level) landscape of the Netherlands. Kinderdijk itself has 19 historic windmills and is categorized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It attracts visitors from all over the world. The ride around the area starts at a ferry crossing at the river Lek. From here you ride on dykes, through residential areas, along small channels and beautiful green farmland. You mostly ride on bike paths shared with pedestrians. Sometimes you ride segments of gravel. You pass cows grassing and windmills scattered along the route. Once you have passed the Windmills at Kinderdijk, you ride along the river Lek. The ride ends at a ferry crossing. The ride is almost flat and car-free. It is the perfect ride for beginners or intermediate riders.
In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a trained cyclist. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app transforms your effort into speed and lets you ride the ride as if it were a real outdoor ride. With the app, you get a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on KZbin. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data such as altitude, distance, speed, heart rate, etc. displayed during the training session.

Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute KZbin and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, KZbin, etc.) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride.

Thanx guys, great work again. Is it possible in the software (Open Road, I am a paying user) to somehow mark the journeys you have already made? That would be brilliant. Otherwise you have to write everything down somehow. Laborious

Hi Peter, Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated. In the overview of the training log, you can see which rides you have done. So there is no need to manually mark the rides you have done. In the future we will pair the training log with the cloud library, so you can see which rides you have started and completed. I hope this helps. You are always welcome to write our support. We are here to help :-)

Normally love the rides, but please don't make cyclist look like the bad guys. Too many kids and people walking dogs on this route for the speed you require, in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback. One of the benefits of using a super wide-angle lens is that you see more of the landscape. Unfortunately, it also has some drawbacks. The super wide angle makes it look like 1: objects are closer than they are, 2. the speed is faster than it is.
