Your explanation of Chaos witchcraft *really* struck a chord with me. As someone who is a strong believer in science, yet has been feeling a strong pull toward witchcraft recently, I've been having trouble reconciling the idea that I'd like to try and practice witchcraft with my lifelong dismissal of any and all supernatural feelings. Allowing myself the grace to shift my mindset back and forth at will so that I can get what I'm looking for out of witchcraft but not having to suffer major cognitive dissonance is really resonating with me. Not willing to use an Ouija Board any time soon (Probably never will, Depending on if life doesn't take away my loved ones from me), But these are questions I've been really curious about, Regarding Ouija Boards: 1- How do you say Goodbye? Do you move the planchette across all the letters of the word Goodbye? Or just 1 letter? Or just touching the word in general would be enough? 2- In case the one I'm contacting is the Z entity without my knowledge (Just don't wanna spell his name cuz I don't know anything about him or what he's capable of), When the planchette moves across Z and O for the 1st time, Is it already too late? Or how many times does he need to come across the Z and O letters in order to be a true threat (Aka be set free) ? I heard it's 24 times. If I go to Goodbye after the 1st time, Is everything gonna be alright? 3- In case I'm contacting an evil entity, How many times do they need to countdown and/or come across the alphabet to be a threat? Do they need to do BOTH the countdown AND come across full alphabet? Or just one of them? Either case, How many times do they need to do each one of the two, To become a true threat (Aka be set free) ? 4- For the 8-movement thingy, How many times do they need to do it to be threatening aka set free? If they perform it 1 time for example and I stop them on the 2nd time (Aka go to Goodbye), Is everything saved now? 5- Is being full of grudge and hatred, Counted as being weak-minded in the context of using an Ouija Board? 6- How is "Ouija" pronounced? 7- What does "Ouija" mean exactly? I heard it's derived from multiple different words, And it was also named by a spirit. Is that true? If yes, What does "Ouija" mean or stand for? 8- What are the questions I must NEVER ask to a spirit, No matter what, Whether they're good or evil ? Please make a list with every possible question of that category, If possible 9- Aside from the Z entity's name, What are the other names I must NEVER allow to get spelled on the board at all costs? 10- What are the safety precautions I must follow BEFORE using the board? Do I need to pour salt around the board and/or light white candles around the board? Candles seem risky to me because clothes might get caught on fire while moving the planchette, So is salt around the board good enough protection in case shit happens? 11- After every session (Assumedly all ended with Goodbye), What are the safety precautions I must follow to avoid any lingering nonsense? 12- How many questions am I allowed to ask per session? Is there a specific number or does it vary per session? If it varies, How do I know the current number of questions allowed for the current session WITHOUT having to waste 1 of my allowed questions on it? I heard that if I surpass the limit, The spirit will "come after me" 13- How do I make it so that I contact a specific person's spirit like a deceased family member or so? I keep hearing there are people having contacted their parents and stuff, So I don't think it's COMPLETELY at random who you end up talking to. There should be something done in order to contact a specific spirit. I'm curious what that thing is 14- If NOT a person, But an object ends up getting possessed by the contacted spirit, Would saying Goodbye return the spirit back to its world? Or does following all precautions correctly prevent possessions from happening to anything, Including objects? 15- What is the safest place to use an Ouija Board? I know your home, And graveyards are the worst places to use an Ouija Board in. How about the best places? 16- If I see a sign of an evil spirit, And I give an out loud signal for my mate to move to Goodbye, Can't the spirit just try to resist our movement towards the Goodbye? Or are we able to move the planchette by force against the spirit's will and go to the Goodbye by force? Or can it do dirty moves to interrupt us like punching in the face and stuff? 17- After finishing the session (Ending with Goodbye), We should keep the planchette away from the board, Right? If yes, What is the minimum distance we must keep between the two of them? 18- Do spirits understand questions asked out loud vocally? Or does everything have to be said through the planchette? If they CAN understand vocal questions, Do they count towards the questions number limit per session? 19- When you're using the planchette to talk, How do you leave spaces between words so you can write your sentences properly? 20- If I say stuff like "I love you" or "I'm sorry I failed to protect you" for example, Do these things count towards the questions number limit per session? They're Not questions, But do they still count towards my limit of questions per session? 21- Can an entity communicate with multiple Ouija Board users at the same time ? For example the Z entity. Is it possible that +2 people from different locations and boards get Unlucky enough to have the Z entity as their session partner (At the same time) ? Or can each entity only communicate with 1 user at a time ? 22- I heard that "MAMA" and "ZAZA" are alternative names of "ZOZO". Is this true? If yes, Then I would appreciate a full list of ALL of his names/nicknames just for the sake of awareness 23- I keep hearing instructions about never letting the Z entity do the 8-movement, and so on, so he doesn't get freed. I saw footage videos where he DID get free and even possess people. Doesn't that mean it's already too late, That he's already roaming in our world and is free to do whatever he wants? Or is it for a limited time only and then he returns back to his world, Then needs another Ouija user to free him once again? Same questions for other evil entities 24- Is the Z entity the only one who is commonly known for appearing so frequently in Ouija sessions? Or are there other entities who also appear so frequently? I would appreciate a full list of their names as well for the sake of awareness

Your work is excellent and I'm hearing new things that broaden my knowledge. If I may, though, Paul Tillich; his name is pronounced "TIL-ik" or if one is Swabian, perhaps "TIL-ish," never "Tilch." The credibility of scholars does, for better or worse, stand on names being spoken well and correctly in public. Again, I find what you are doing very progressive and helpful.

I don't believe crystals and herbs contain magical powers themselves, but I think reflecting on them and imagining them as if they do can help us to reflect on ourselves :)

I posted this on my wall a while back and today I was just randomly looking for something/someone to connect with and somehow came across you. I am thrilled, I do watch Sednawoo and Aine Orga who are both along the same line, if anyone knows of any other channels, I would love to know! Here is what I wrote: I am a Pantheist Wiccan. God and Goddess ARE The Universe/Nature. They are NOT conscious though. I can't ask them for shit. I cannot pray to them. Nature is just...Nature, You can talk to Nature, You can commune with Nature but you cannot make Nature bend to your will. I am a skeptic when it comes to The Afterlife and Ghosts but I still watch Project Fear and Ghost Hunters and Expedition X because I want to know, I want to learn and I would LOVE to be part of another Ghost Group (I was a member of Las Vegas Ghost Connection for a year) and go on a Ghost Hunt to experience this for myself. I do believe in Magic and Ritual but probably only because I have experienced both of these for myself and know that both work. Also, The Rede which is why I am an Ovo Vegetarian and The Law of Return. Lastly, I practice The Sacred Journey, a series of books written by wise men/women in Witchcraft traditions while casting lots to be led through the books to become more Attuned. Its also how you climb the levels and earn degrees as a Witch in the Tradition I was raised in/around. ok ok so there is some unrelated stuff in there, the point is that I have always called myself a Pantheist Witch or Wiccan (The terms confuse me often and as a man, sometimes I prefer Pagan because Witch seems feminine, lol) but wanted to share the post so everyone here can see, we are out there!! :D

I really enjoyed this! The experiment with the good and bad spells reminded me of one of Jonathan Haidt and Scott Murray's experiments in which they asked atheists to sell their soul for $2. The little paper "contracts" they used clearly stated that it was not a binding agreement in any way, and the subjects were even told they could rip it up after the experiment. Still, only 23% of participants were willing to sign without any convincing. Humans are fascinating!

Where have you gone Skeptical Witch?

Maybe it's just tangentially related, but I feel like it's worth also talking about how one can and should decolonize their pagan and witch rituals and practices by examining where those elements are appropriated from. The first thing that comes to mind is, like, burning white sage in particular, which not only comes out of context from a variety of indigenous peoples, but the overharvesting of and poaching of white sage to sell to the white pagan and new-age practitioners who practice smudging completely divorced from its original context is also a big problem. Maybe it's just me, but I also don't feel like it's appropriate for euro-cultural pagans to direct their worship towards, like, Egyptian deities while having zero cultural connection to those deities; though I do acknowledge that I'm not really in any kind of position to be telling anyone how to worship either. I just think taking a real, honest look at these things are a part of decolonizing our paganism however.

Sorry, but the earth cannot be a disk for one person and a sphere for another. There's only one truth about this matter, and most humans tend to value truth higher than falsities. So I don't see the benefit of saying that other modes of thinking are on par with the scientific approach. Of course, other peoples' myths shouldn't be wiped from the earth just because they're wrong. But it must be allowed to say that that kind of magical thinking is untrue at best and harmful at worst.

CAuse I respect the people who created them I believe cultures can be owned by different groups, and we have no right to burst into a party we weren't invited into. Thank you so much for this! I just discovered atheopaganism tonight and cried lol- I feel so seen and validated in how I view the world. Adopted into Southern Baptist dad and intense Catholic mom (no hate to them or anything that’s just what they were led to believe). Strict cosmic guilt based views to say the least. Went to fundamentalist co-ops (homeschool schools) with all Bible/creationism based curriculum (aka evolution = evil god zapped everything into existence). I struggle with some religious trauma/ OCD etc. but still find solace in rituals (I do some witchcraft during full moons with meditative self love intent), routine, and community. I was very lonely growing up and nature/the woods is always where I felt safe. I could escape the ruthless god I was so scared of. I am thankful my parents love the earth and encouraged us to explore. I’m going to check out the groups you recommend because I really am craving to meet some likeminded people (which if anyone is reading this please feel free to reach out 🙂💖💯). Like many have mentioned in comments, I have some pagan friends but I just can’t get behind the supernatural aspect of it. I think the stories and symbols we learn are important and can aid in self growth. Such stories are only a natural unfolding of our evolution as sentient beings. Shape cultures etc.

A "day late and a dollar short" I found your channel :) As a soft atheist and a pagan with strong animistic leanings, I truly appreciate your breakdowns of various modes of pagan and skeptical thought. I'm a new subscriber, and I'll be going through your videos :) Edited to add- Chaos magic has been the SINGLE most successful practice I've had. I was VERY incredulous but then I said "What the heck...do it!" It literally changed my job in less than a year (I got exactly what I wanted, though no one thought I'd get it), my health in about 9ish months, and my servitor truly helped me with several relationships in my life within a span of a mere 2 years.

As I don't believe in deities outside of myself and see God and Goddess as archetypes of myself, I believe that all is Divine. As a Pantheist Naturalism Pagan, I believe in the spiritual realm, but it is all around and within me. I had Christians thought I was atheist and I can see I may be a little Athestic now.... Interesting video.

Science or the scientific method is universal in the sense that everyone that uses it correctly get the same results. This is because science only studies that which everyone can repeatedly observe. Things that fall outside this category aren't "fake" by this reasoning, nor are they "real", science merely makes no claims about such things. It's purpose is to look at things that are reproducable and observable for everyone, and put out a theoretical framework that best predicts the behaviour of physical objects. Saying that science is absolute knowledge and completely overshadowing everything else is wrong, but it is universal in the sense that everyone will reach the same results using it, maybe with different words, but the physical behaviour they describe must be the same.

Not because Star Wars is important to me, it is and influenced my spirituality. But I have a very cool psychic friend that I gave that nickname as I saw her and I like Anakin and Ahsoka from Star Wars. So it’s my way of including her spiritually. Though to the outsider it would look odd and probably out of place. Unorthodox crafting is the best! Love your channel

I experienced a psychotic episode 5 years ago where I saw signs everywhere and jumped to supernatural conclusions… I still have a tendency to see signs, but I just don’t give them as much attention. Recently, though, I attended a week long silent retreat and afterwards I decided to look up some KZbin videos about synchronicity. That sent me down a rabbit hole because there are so many videos that talk about synchronicity vaguely and that jump to supernatural conclusions about it. A lot of popular videos about synchronicity will say make sure you pay attention to these signs! And I’m like, dang this seems to be the oppositional to the idea of looking inwardly towards trusting yourself. It’s basically hinting at the idea that you can’t trust just yourself, you need these external signs to be complete. Do You have any tips for not letting yourself be influenced by people who try to influence us to believe in supernatural conclusions?
