the shorts algorithm hooked me with clips from this show. scott ryan is genuinely mesmerizing in this role.

If you'll consider unsolicited advice, you don't need to use the pronoun "they/them" if everybody knows the gender of the referent. You're talking about a man, which is clear even from the accompanying pictures. So "he/him" is more natural.

What is there not to like about this show? This show is kick ass, this character, "Ray", stands up and stands out, in every scene he is in.

Best show I've ever watched, and probably will ever watch.

Ray has a code that he doesn't break. He hurts bad people who lies, cheats and steals. When Freddy got him to whack the wrong guy, he went back to the guy's house and gave his grieving wife some money and closure.

I thought the show was a cross between Breaking Bad and Trailer Park Boys.

This was a great show.

I watched the hole series---For gods sake bring it back !

This was an awesome series and it is a shame it was canceled. Ray is a character you can get behind. He has a very human aspect to someone who makes a living off of making people disappear.

*Spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched it yet* If I would've seen The Magician first and then watch this, as I've literally just finished the series today. I would've understood the reference made in season 3. Freddie's wife asks Ray for help with Freddie's gambling addiction and owes someone money. Ray goes to reason with the man in question, after leaving the man turns to his security guard and says "do you know who that was [..] that was The Magician." It's kinda like Matilda, how Miss Trunchable references one of Roald Dahl's other books The Twits.

I wished Netflix would pick it up.

The anger management course is hillarious. We need more of that.

This is the best show I've watched in the past years.

I love where he ends up at the finish of season 3. Exactly where he was whilst developing the script. Wouldnt be surprised if most of it was written in a caravan at Christie's Beach. Quite a few people live there. I did myself for 3 months during Covid and can totally imagine him living out there.

When my son was 6yo he point blank asked me if Santa was real. "Ask me when you're older" was not good enough. He had it all worked out and explained explicitly why Santa must be a fairytale. Never wanting to lie to my boy I told him straight. "Now that you've worked it out, you can use that knowledge to your advantage." 1. By pretending to believe in Santa you get extra presents 'from Santa' from his mother. 2. Now he could gauge how smart other kids are. 3. This way it doesn't spoil it for the little kids who might overhear you 😁

Ray Shoesmith, what a guy. Def someone you want having your back, not the other way around.

You gave a truly excellent review that encapsulated in an interesting fashion the essence of what is the attraction of Mr inbetween it's not predictable and you do like Ray, but, nevertheless, one must feel somewhat hesitant about getting too close to him! You also have an excellent voice for narration very clear and engaging.

also - Ray's daughter is played by Nash Egerton's real life daughter - aiding the chemistry I feel
