Team Liam always!!! Robert is more like their mother. Liam is more like their father. Even their mother realized that Robert is the worst of all. It's too bad the show ended. It would be interesting to watch Robert's downfall.

Robert was too smart for all of them ~ by the end of series 2 the show badly needed a leading man and they certainly got one!. The screen presence and Charisma of Max Brown totally outshone the rest of the cast that the writers had to use that ridiculous retcon of the character to try to keep the Liam character and actor relevant. #KingRobert~ the only Monarch for me😂👑

She is so right Willow is still in love with Liam. You can see the way she thanked him for helping her, during the announcement of the engagement. She frozed infront of the pappz and Robert did not help at all.

Robert doesn't love Willow. He only cares for himself. If he truly love her, he would use his own words not Eleanor's letter. Willow was blinded by the stupid music box. And I think Robert made a deal with her. That is the only explanation of why she said yes. Something like "If you don't say yes, I'll kill your family". Robert is after all a master manipulator. It's too bad the show got cancelled. I really like to see Roberts downfall, like his father predicted.

Team Liam always!!! Their father is right about Robert. Sure Liam did got dark, can you blame him? He lost his father and got betrayed by the man he trusted and considered as a father figure. That is a lot of trauma to handle. But Robert is manipulative, selfish and a sosioupath. Even their mother, sister, jasper realized that Robert do not deserve the throne. Liam is far more better to claim the throne. Because despite the darkness in him, his goodness is far more stronger.

Honesty I didn't think Robert loves Willow. If he does he would say it in his own words and not coppy Len's letter. And the way he talked to Willow, when she asked him about the blackout. There is no hint of feelings for her at all. Poor Willow, he probably made a deal with her when he spoke to her in the church. It is the only explanation of why she said yes.

As much as i thought Willow and Liam would be good together, Willow and Robert and makes a lot more sense. Really wish we'd gotten to see their relationship post marriage. Sucks the show was cancelled when it was.

To all the frustrated viewers. I found a secret scroll that reveals how the ROYALS 👑 ends. ⭐The wedding Eleanor warned Wilhelmina about the coup, and she told Robert, who is now King. Wilhelmina pretended to be part of the coup, but she actually planned to marry Robert as planned. Robert knew about the coup and hired his own security firm. What they did not know was there was an assassin at the wedding, with a gun and one bullet. The couple marry as planned. The assassin aims at the King but misses, hitting Wilhelmina instead. She dies immediately. The King is devastated, he rules England and become overly paranoid and tyrannical. The attack at the wedding gets him some sympathy, but with time people get tired of the growing surveillance and restrictions. They do not like Robert and want to get rid of the monarchy. Members of the Royal family who participated in the coup are banned from the palace. Jasper is happy with Eleanor in the real world. Eleanor is busy with charity work and having children. Liam is angry at Jasper for telling Eleanor about the coup. He thinks this is the reason the coup failed. The British people are unhappy with the monarchy, there are massive protests. Eventually the British citizens overthrow the monarchy. ⭐The Prison Robert, the King is arrested. He has his own prison cell, the only thing he asks for is a chess board, so he can play chess with his father and talk to him. While overthrowing the monarchy, the British people confiscated everything, but Robert managed to hide family treasures. Years pass, different family members are looking for the treasure, they finally figure out Robert knows the location. Robert has no plans on disclosing the location of the treasures (crowns, diamonds, historical pictures) to his family, who betrayed him. However, there is one thing he hid, which he now needs. He hid a black book with dirt on politicians. If he gets his hands on the book, this could help free him, and topple the current government, which has become very corrupt. Robert’s father (imaginary) is upset with the new government, he wants them destroyed. He tells Robert to get the black book, but Robert is still in prison. So, he asks his family for help. ⭐Jasper & Eleanor Jasper feels guilty for the failed coup. This time when Liam asks for his help, he plans to prove his loyalty to the mission. Jasper’s father helps find the treasure and secret black book. Jasper provides security. Liam provided him with weapons. Eleanor is kept in the dark about the mission to bring down the New British government. This causes some tension in their relationship, but ultimately it works out. At the end, Jasper gives Eleanor a large bag of treasures, for her charity. They go around to poor neighborhoods giving gifts, just like they did when they were young. ⭐Country House At the end, we see the family together in a fancy house in the British countryside. Everyone is getting along. On the TV screen we see members of the British parliament getting arrested. At the same time the announcer says facial recognition and other surveillance will be permanently removed. Robert and his father have a chess match. The father is finally happy; the royalty was abolished, the corrupt government taken down, his children are safe, they have matured and do not act like ‘zoo animals’.

I think this was a a good ending actually. I have rewatched this so many times. You can just imagine now their reign. I love that Creep is being sung by the choir and that the minister pronounced them “man and woman” (as if they were not before) in addition to King and Queen and man and wife. The whole thing with them having weapons and loading them in the church is just so fantastical. That’s one reason I like this show. That and the soundtracks 😅

I'm glad it ended when it did. The writers would have trashed Rillow in Series 5 to make the 'Good Guys' ie Toxic characters triumph. Although I would have loved up see rule together, navigate marriage and most certainly put the rest of that traitorous family in their place. Sometimes I want this show had not been cancelled,but sometimes I think may be this was good. Sorry, but is so obvious that the show trying to sell Robert being "the bad guy" is a badly written retcon,and I said "bad guy" bc other characters have done worse shit and the snow is trying to sell them as they are not that bad now . Also how the man that tried to kill Robert in the first seasons that supposedly regreted trying to kill him is now hating him and is being used by Robert's family,he is the one with the gun and everything,how are these people the good side ?

All the other characters have done worse shit? I'm sorry but no. From the moment we are introduced to Robert , to his flash backs playing chess with his father , it is crystal clear he is a psychopath genuinely incapable of seeing the value in others beyond his use. He was never supposed to be the hero and he never truly was. Even Cyrus who is the definition of spoiled , vindictive and corrupt as much as he wanted to be king never went through with killing his brother Simon... but Robert his own son planned his father's death just so that he could be king , that's beyond cold. And Cyrus unlike Robert has been shown to have deeper emotions for OTHERS ( his mother , his brother and Violet etc) , while Robert's emotions are very limited and shallow at best. There's a reason he (Robert) is often calm and cool , because unlike the others he actually truly does not care about anyone else but himself , nor did he EVER (even as a child) . He even low key mocks people who have deeper feelings for others. You would either need to be blind and or deaf or not paying attention to not see or understand Robert is a classic psychopath and was meant to be portrayed as such from the beginning. What bothers me is the ending , why Willow said "I do" . Maybe she is planning to destroy Robert's rein from the inside or maybe she is even more corrupt and was conning the Royal Family all along. Who knows.

@@phan643 there is no substantial evidence that Robert plotted to kill his Father, just the hysterical ramblings of Liam, and Cyrus!!~ a Rapist and Murderer ~that is definitely canon, the ridiculous retcon of Roberts character was a desperate attempt to redeem Liam and his actor due to Max Brown overshadowing the rest of the cast when he came on board

I have not seen still Robert killed and raped anyone . what jasper did,is also manipulation and being a rapist,but the show still decided to sell a romantic story of love with Eleanor. Also that Robert killed Simon wasnt never confirmed. The way he reacted to knowing his father being dead or seeing alone the footage when he was killed showed me another thing . Also I still remember when I watched the dvd scene of the first season with Ted pryce alone confessing unconscious Simon that he killed Robert bc he knew how much Simon loved him and wanted simon to suffer the same than he suffered with his wife, I still remember when I read the pilot script and how much really Simon loved and admired Robert there and his words. I also remember first season and how Simon told Helena how he missed Robert and how Robert could have been anything in the world. So ,I don't believe that Robert is just a psychopath,evil big villain,for me it must be something more,and if that isnt the case, that he is just bad,it would a a badly written retcon. And it still wasn't the original plan,that is a fact,so don't come here with "it was planned to be in that way since the beginning",bc evidence shows me the contrary.And also the rest of characters are still shitty in many ways,. Playing chess or Simon saying he had hubris isn't worse than being a rapist,killer etc,something many characters in this scene, the show already confirmed they are . Or may be bc willow knows something that the audience didn't and we will never know,may be that scene of him playing chess alone and talking with her before the wedding mean something and it isn't just "robert is just a psycho". You are the one that aren't paying attention .Also if that was plan of Robert to became king ,it was a shitty plan,also Robert's introduction ???he was shown feeling guilty for not coming back with Eleanor, to acne with "kathryn's shows that he wasn't sure of coming back,he was erasing the in his casket too.Also I don't but Ted Pryce hating so much royal family but his plan was for benefeting Robert to becomd the king? Why he would care,what he would win with helping Rober and making the royal family suffering. Sorry if I believe there could be more with Robert as a character and that if that isn't the case the other characters havent really too much moral high ground,and that would just confirm how some many badly written shows made character assesinations of certain character to made the other characters look better ,bc if you really analyze those characters aren't that good either,but shows tried to framed it in that way just bc they are protagonists or bc drama they changed things without caring about plot holes. If the Royals tried to redeem rapist and killers ,right now Robert hadn't done anything so bad that he couldnt be redeemed at all .And in the end I have said many times,it would be a retcon,it wasn't like that since the beginning ,it isnt my opinion,it is a fact.

@@dreamslove1184 Please. It was heavily implied that Robert has Simon killed , through something called imagery and recollection THAT'S what the chess game represents , not the actual game itself. The show makes it abundantly clear Robert is a psychopath in the truest sense of the word. Are the other characters saints ? NO. BUT despite their lack of morals and debauchery they do have one thing Robert never had , GENUINE feelings for persons other than themselves. Yes Cyrus raped , he also cared for his brother and Violet. Yes Helena schemed slept around and manipulated circumstances , but she also truly cared for ALL her children beyond herself. People aren't linear just because someone did horrible things dosen't mean they have no feelings for anything or anyone else. Robert , in turn , manipulates everything and everyone in his sphere for his benefit alone. He dosen't allow others to make their own choices and operated under the guise of he knew best. Even the way Robert speaks is indicative of his Dark Triad psychopathy , he is calm and cool because he dosen't have any genuine emotions for others. Feelings for others , that's what makes most people do irrational things , but with Robert there's only ambition and a bloated hubris. Seriously if you didn't understand that Robert isn't nor never was meant to be the hero and that of ALL the characters because he is a psychopath , which are born not made , he actually is the character on the show with the LEAST chance at redemption , then I really do feel sorry for you. The show made it crystal clear Robert is a power mad psychopath , and was even as a child. His father played a chess game with him , told him he had no special gifts that couldn't be taught , and that he still loved him very much. That didn't sit well with Robert , ever , because psychopathic persons HATE to lose and have little to zero coping skills when they DO. Now if his father had abused him , hurt him , told him he would never amount to anything , maybe it would be more justified. However Simon tells Robert he will not make a good king , because he sees the psychopathic uncaring , cold , callous , arrogant nature of his oldest son , so he's honest. A good king should be kind and care about the people and Robert was born not being able to do that , nor is he particularly interested in learning how to be more empathetic etc. So again very obvious Robert was meant to be the ' villain ' and also very obvious he had Simon killed given , his character and subsequent machinations to get the crown. But beleive what you want. 🤷‍♂️

@@phan643 Implication isn't confirmation and what I said, it is was a retcon and that is a fact. The evidence in the scene of Ted confessing to unconsious Simon he killed Robert to make him suffer ,the pilot script in how much Simon admired Robert , Simon telling Helena how much he missed Robert and how he believed Robert could have been anything in the world in first eason shows my point about being a retcon. Also stop using te word psycho,even in real life a lot of studies have to be done to a real person to say that.And you thinking a character that is a rapist for you can be so easily redeemed is so shitty,the thing is that in shows like this ,the things about Robert can be just red hearings ,they still can make another retcon,and show us how they were playing with us,not everything have to be what it seems,more nuance can exist,just bc he is shown being cooler than the rest of characters that are also manipulators doesn't mean he coulndt be redeemed . And that Robert has not other feelings that aren't for himself isn't what the shows have told us,even in scenes when he was alone about he felt guilt when Eleanor asked him why he hadnt come back or how he reacted alone watching his father being killed,he wasnt sure of really coming back even erasing being a price in his casket ,things weren't that calculating ,with Robert we still don't know many things,there are enigmas about his feelings and intentions . Also there is a scene of him wantig to be better. Also what was the reason for someone like Ted pryce that hated royal family so much and wanting to make them suffer ,in killing Simon to benefit Robert to become king? Why he would care in helping him?For me there are a lot of plot holes.Sorry If I said Robert being the villain is a retcon,that is a fact ,not an opinion ,sorry if I think characters that are rapist must not be redeemed at all,and yes I believe is easier to sell a redemption for a character, that hadn't not been shown raping and killing but that the "crimes" that you accuse him are just implications and not confirmations, than characters that are rapist. Also This is fiction everything can be written.

I recently watched “The Royals”, and beleive me am so devastated that there is no next season, it was a little journey for me , I felt I was a part of these ppls lives while watching tis.. and the moment the show ended I thought jeez how long should I be waiting for the next season n then learnt tat it was cancelled. Dissapointed is not word, am not sure what Mark did , but Tisz one hell of a creation , such a brilliant plot , I can’t imagine how tis man created this kind of a fiction .. ok I want to talk about Robert ❤.. I only wish Robert existed in real life .. he was portrayed shady all through the season but every single scene he proved our assumption wrong by making us still wonder if he’s a good or a bad guy.. the way he pursues Willow , all this feels so real to me , I don’t understand how tis can be a fiction , the way he becomes vulnerable to her ,n each time she has doubt on this relationship , the way he assures her , he convinces her to believe him , I wanted so much of Robert more , i couldn’t get over this character, there is a justification in everything he did .. i just lost it for Kathryn n Liam .. jasper n Len are cute, cryrus one hell of a character , but willow n ROBERT stole the show , stole my heart ♥️

i loved this scene, after analyzing that imaginary conversation Robert had with his father, I honestly think that Robert figured out about the coup and had a plan to deal with it, which involved Willow either losing her innocence (doing something dark like Robert) or being sacrificed by Robert for her involvement , he changed his mind as we see him make the winning move his queen(chess piece) and thats what he and Willow spoke about off screen and when finally said yes that smile on her face was relief that there was still so much good in him and she truly loved him, also does anybody else notice how queen-like Willow looks, like she has the weight of the world on her shoulders but the same time like its just another day, so regal, so majestic like she was always meant to be the queen

I think that once they decided to bring back the character of Robert, Willow was always destined to be Queen that's why they abandoned any romance with Liam. Max and Gen had scorching onscreen Chemistry

A graceful and good ending for the show, which I watched on Netflix. And as King Robert, I would have treacherous Jasper (and Hill) shot. I disliked this guy all through the show, always sporting a negative facial expression.

@@geraldinemckenna7034 lol yeah,the way that the show wanted to make Robert as the big bad evil guy to make Liam look better ,when Liam did so also many bad things and was so selfish and annoying too. Not forgetting that it seems for Eleanor his brother stealing a letter is worse than jasper blackmailing, manipulating and raping her.
