I like the look of this meter but I wouldn't buy it for two reasons you have shown me. The lead on the top causes it to fall over and the double pins on each lead look a pain to use.

Are you sure the leads that come with it out of the box aren't Kelvin leads? I think they are as two cable leads such as the probe master 8152 give calibration failure in the DER EE DE-5000.

Hey I have an early serial # 2465b which I suspect has the same keeper battery as yours. I have access to a bench power supply, would you still suggest soldering a battery pack to the board over using the supply? Somehow the battery is still going, probably because there are like 5 original hours on the unit but I need to consider replacing it in the near future.

Looks like one of them is pulled out on mine for some reason the other one doesn't have any numbers just looking at the top of it...looks like one was pulled out at some point. Are these diodes the same? hmm..that's good think you did you video I didn't even see that missing diode - had a different issue than power supply. Thats not to shabby.. do like that you compare it to another bench millioohm meter. You can see the fw revision on nr10 in the menu.. "factory default" many tends to not wanna click on that, as hey think it will reset, but you do have a step more, and in there you will get fw info... you will likely have FW0.4 like my own unit..while the latest in the official protocol cloud is still listed as FW0.3. Its pretty straight forward to just cherryrig some cheap kelvin with an GX12-4pin connector, as clamp is far from ideal for bench uecases..

can ccp batch be trusted found different resistance.. Would you buy it from CCP? Digikey has those relays...but more expensive. Looksing at 100$+ for 16 relays. I'm getting either 356 ohm or 750 ohm on the 12v coil in the same batch with either 17 mA or 33MA - bad relays or normal? Seems like 2 different batches or so - can it be trusted? Link to Osaka pz....? Seems like I'm getting below .030 ohm on the contacts though - just checking with de-5000 @ 1000 herts for resistance on the contact - that seems ok? Seems like Uni-T will have hard time measuring that small of resistance. I'm guessing the coil resistance difference is ok as long as contacts are clean near 0 ohm?

Great video, thank you. I have Tektronix 2432 digital scope and it started to misbehave. I get a trance on channels 1 and 2, but cannot display a signal. My suspicion so far is that the issue is in the attenuators at the input. This is mainly because self diagnostics all pass. Do you have a video on removing and repairing the attenuators or can you have one in the future? I especially find your videos and your style to be very informative, you hit the useful stuff and don’t waste time showing the obvious or telling long stories. Keep up the good work!

My problem with my 2235 is in the sweap circuit all I have is two stationary dots with no movement across the screen. Looks like someone already did power supply caps except the Rifa caps. Darn I just got it from eBay to late to send back.

pretty sure this was answered but kinda still confused... I bought a cheapo: "7 Port USB 2.0 Hub Multi USB Splitter 2.0 Power Adapter Expander Switch for PC" and it also has a 5v power input (looks like it a female barrel plug input). Obviously didn't come with a 5v cable to AC plug, but could you essentially plug one in and if you did what would it do? Plugging the USB cable into another USB port on a power strip seems to give it enough power. What would adding the extra 5v input do?

Would you be able to sell a completed version of this? Or, more interesting the V2 of the pocket version? Thanks!
