Watched @novicewildcamper's review and that was enough to convince me. I also saw another review from wild karen and noted the same slight issue you had, and that's the expansion of the fly when it's wet, so it sags a bit; should be able to mitigate that by adjusting the pitch when it rains. I was thinking about buying the G2 but when I saw the interior and exterior measurements I ruled it out. I see it as more appropriate for Glamping than for Hiking. Heavier, wider to fit in a space in the backpack, the most common canister is the 100g one with plenty of room to swing around, and little interior height to accommodate both the Fire Maple Polaris and the Greenpeak. I will definitely stick with the G3 that I already own because I think the G2 is more appropriate for people who like to make complex meals in nature. For boiling, making coffee or noodles, the G3 is more suitable.

Yes it’ll work inside your house with no wind but that BRS stove is extraordinarily sensitive to wind and there is a gap between the stove and the pot necessitating the use of a windscreen outdoors in any wind above 3 mph. Where I live in Northern California it is always blowing at least 3 mph and usually more, probably in the UK also. I suggest the excellent Fire Maple GreenPeak Stove for the Petrel pot which costs $20 and would be much more wind resistant than the BRS stove.

@@camping_guru_uk Thank you. I really appreciate your answers! I am looking at the same 260g model. And your video is so helpful. The only thing that confuses me is the discrepancy between the down filling and the declared temperature limits. I mean that with a filling of 500g/700fp down and an 20d outer fabric it should be either warmer or lighter. For example, I have now ordered another Mammut Nordic 3 season sleeping bag, it has a declared weight of exactly 1 kg (400g filling/650 fp) and a temperature limits of -5/0 C. Also do not forget that it’s a classic mummy sleeping bag with a hood, that seems it is always heavier than a similar specs quilt, but for some reason not in this case..

I have two problems which I wondered if this will fix. The first is, being old and with weaker arms I’m struggling to initially get the awning ’tunnel’ fitted to the van. I can’t use the awning rail on my own, it’s too difficult. Usually I throw the guy ropes over the van and peg down, but now I’m struggling to pull the tunnel up onto the roof. I saw these and wondered if when fitted to the tunnel I could easily put them onto the roof so they’ll hold while I peg down at the other side. The second is, when using just the guy ropes I inevitably have gaps where the tunnel edge is gaping in places….and so this might take those gaps away by keeping it flat.

It's an easy fix to swap out to some tougher new ones. The seller couldn't been more helpful and refunded myself a good chunk of the original cost, certainly enough to cover buying replacement clips. After leaving the tent up for a week in the garden I found even with a full night of rain there were no leaks.
