Hello, I'm thinking about adding the red guylineslike you, what length did you use?, referring to another video where I saw that you put a nut on your trekking poles, if you put a headless screw on it, it would be perfect, where the tip of the trekking pole goeson this tent, no?

@@blackdeathrodrigo that's a great idea. I've now started using the trekking pole with the spike upwards but I cover the spike with a little thing flexible rubber type cover. I'm going to make a definitive pitching video at the weekend. The guy ropes I used for the red ones are 4m long.

@@camping_guru_uk Thank you very much, I have been looking at what modifications to make to the tent, waiting for the climate to improve where I live, so I can seal the seams.

Nice video :) the guy line clips are a great idea do you have a link on ali for those?

Hi, here's the guy lines, the only thing is I got them during a sale for about £5 including delivery and tax etc. They are very good and won't absorb water from the feel of them. a.aliexpress.com/_EHMrAwf

@@camping_guru_uk Ha! I ordered the same ones but to put on a tarp ridgeline to help prevent wear and tear from tying knots.

Durston x-mid knockoff. I will keep my Sil poly x-mid solid 2 thanks.Dan put a lot of work into an original geometric design. This is a rip off.
@camping_guru_uk4 ай бұрын
To be fair it's a different tent for sure. If I could have got an x-mid in the UK for the same price it's sold for in the US I would have but... The x-mid poly works out about £450-£500 with delivery and tax here. The Asta Gear can be bought for £150 delivered including tax etc here in the UK. As for Dan putting in a lot of work I can't disagree but he also took a lot of ideas from tents that went before. Rip off I'm not so sure, heavily influenced, definitely 😁

@@camping_guru_uk Most of these Chinese tents are heavily influenced by Nemo, MSR wtc but don't get it exactly right. That one will not work as well as the xmid.
@camping_guru_uk4 ай бұрын
@@BrokenBackMountains I totally agree, the x-mid just looks perfect in the shape and cut. There are a few little fitting points I'd change but it looks amazing.

I'm giving mine a test run just now. I like it so far. I don't care if it's a rip-off. I am not going to fork out for an X-Mid and pay double in taxes and customs to Europe.

@@snowcelt let me know if you will about which way up you put the poles. Cheers
