The room and setup is looking great. I like the placard idea and the light by Retro Beard, naturally, looks fantastic. Of course we dig the toys and games coexisting. 🙂 I'm always trying to work in console boxes onto shelves but have yet to have any luck...
@OwazrimКүн бұрын
Thanks buddy Boxes take up a lot of real estate so it can be tough to work in. I have a tote full of stuff to figure out what to do with. I just had the thought that the last video was about unboxing/decarding Motu stuff and here I am with a wall of boxes for gaming. lol
@DrinkGameswithJosh2 күн бұрын
Looks good dude! You fit a lot into the shelves now. 🤙🏻 Nice vintage LEGO space sets. I used to collect LEGO Castle sets. I wish I hadn’t sold them off a few years back now…😢 I need to do a little reshuffle like this and refocus on the game room and collection a bit myself.
@Owazrim2 күн бұрын
Saved a lot of space by unboxing stuff. You can work on getting some of the Lego sets back but man Lego takes up space quickly. I want to get more of the Lego collection out. I have most of the sets I had when I was a kid. some are probably missing pieces but they were played with and rebuilt often.
@DrinkGameswithJosh2 күн бұрын
@ they are so much more expensive now then when I sold them off. I guess everything is though. 🤷♂️

Yeah, that is a problem. The big M-tron set I watched auctions for over a year until I won one that was at a price I was okay with.

Good Christmas message! The fight against FOMO is real! I have found trying to be subjective or focused on actually curating my collection vs acting on impulse or fear is a much more fun way to collect. I doubt I'll ever play all my games, but with flash carts, ODE, MiSTER etc actually owning a copy of a game to play it is not as important. I appreciate the aesthetic of these classic games and hardware and treat them more like art at this point. I like to focus nowadays on condition vs finding the very best deal. I think if the items in your collection are not physically in your way or you don't need the money from selling for life situations, hold on and enjoy. My kids can deal with all my games when I'm gone! 🤣
@OwazrimАй бұрын
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year dude! yeah, focusing on what you really want helps a ton. Doing some research when you see something new helps too. Collecting more than just games eats up space quickly so it is the final frontier.
@emsemtsemsemts4707Ай бұрын
Is it perfect?
@OwazrimАй бұрын
and dark
@DoYouNerdАй бұрын
I'm pretty good about NOT having FOMO as I don't follow reviews or anything gaming related; anything I pick up is because there was some sort of inherent interest of my own accord. That said, I'm absolutely terrible at carving out time FOR the games, so they do sit there un-played, but it's been seldom to never that anybody has "convinced" me to get a game. Probably a good thing too as I'm self-enabling enough. Ha ha
@OwazrimАй бұрын
I think early on when I was getting back into retro gaming I was learning about a lot of new stuff so I got caught up. Now I usually have some interest in a game already or I see something new and look up some gameplay videos.
@pappabeargamingАй бұрын
Fomo is really hard to deal with, I've ran into game stores a ton of time sand spent way too much to purchase a game I've never seen in the wild. Similarly, I usually get it and then I won't play it for years.
@OwazrimАй бұрын
spot on. I usually try and look up some gameplay videos so I have an idea about the game but outside of testing it may take me years to get around to it if ever.
@LindaTheGAMERGalАй бұрын
I have started to sell games that I don't like because it gives me money to get other games I want to try/finish.
@OwazrimАй бұрын
It's a great thing to do. Why hold onto it and let it take up space when you can sell it and get something you would much rather have and play?
@emsemtsemsemts4707Ай бұрын

I only have FOMO when it comes to digital games which is why I purchased so many xbox 360 games before the store closed. But like you say its about finding the time to play them all, so maybe I have a FONPE (Fear of not playing everything) instead. 😅
@OwazrimАй бұрын
FONPE I like it. lol. fear that you might be missing out on something possibly somewhere sometime.
@LameDadRetroGamerАй бұрын
I literally LOL when you showed aerial assault. I think I was guilty several years ago for buying way too much. It wasn't fomo necessarily but I had this idea that I had to build a collection and I have a lot of games that are just there now. Taking up space like you said. I'm much more focused on getting exactly what I want now and in the condition I want it. My biggest problem is staying away from eBay lol
@Owazrim26 күн бұрын
haha, I think it was similar for me too. I bought a lot of big lots so I ended up with extras and stuff I wouldn't have bought otherwise. If you did pickup videos it didn't help either. So many things to pull or push you to buy more stuff. staying off auction sites can help a ton. It is too easy to just buy a lot without it really kicking in how much you have spent or bought.
@WavesNGamesАй бұрын
There are very few games that you're "missing out" on if you haven't played them. Watching a lot of KZbin I get the feeling that finally getting a full collection seems to make a lot of people realize that they didn't need it after all. Learning from others experiences helps quell the fomo imo.
@OwazrimАй бұрын
Collecting a full set of something you hopefully, come to realize that I bought this stuff that I don't plan on doing anything with. Getting back into collecting it is easy to get caught up early on.
@8BitBoyUKАй бұрын
I know what you mean, buddy but I would never be selling any of those games, especially the master system. Sell them toys, they're just for kids. 😂
@OwazrimАй бұрын
lol, The Sega 8 bit is pretty safe. All the fluff from newer systems is on the chopping block. But I like my toys. The toys are also easier to find. lol
