A good Cempedak, like the one in this video, is sweeter and tastier than a Greek grandma's galaktoboureko without the animal secretions. It's truly sad that most people in the world will never try one.

My grandmother on my dads side used to grow orchids in a shade house near Mullumbimby in New South Wales, she used to show them at the Orchid shows which she used to go to at Lismore. So they grow in a 10b cold hardiness zone let alone zone 11 which is what zone Cairns is in, well, after my grandfather died in 2017 & my grandmother was also living in the nursing home that he died at & she eventually did last year my cousin who lives 3 houses down from their old house took most of them back to his house where they all died because he left them out in the hot sun,my point is that he should've at least put them underneath a tree so that they wouldn't get cooked. My dad took what was left back home with him to the Newcastle area where we live & he does have a king Orchid which grows beautiful flowers during the warmer months, so they will grow in a 10b zone which is zone my area is in. I have some self sown Crows nest ferns which spores came from old leaves that my dad put up the backyard to incinerate, the spores blew onto some brick work which gets moist & I transplanted them into pots,he brought the original ferns back from the far north coast of New South Wales many years ago. So,I do want to grow orchids as well, they need to be planted in a semi shaded area but,my dad has his king orchids growing in a shaded spot in the garden as well. Next Thursday we're forecasted to get a 23°C day in our area but the nights will still be at about 8°C, we live near the Barrington Tops which is a part of the Great dividing range, they got a light dusting of snow this week &; there has been snow at the snowy mountains as well obviously, the cold winds have been blowing off those mountains & we've been getting 13-14°C days this month. It was forecasted at 16°C yesterday but the wind chill made it feel like it was 13°C !

Lucky for you in Zone 10. I'm in 9B, with at least 5 months of single digit nights. No orchids for me.

That's if you can find a partner whose a vegan like you have done & not one of them who doesn't know that I eat a lot of fruit because her vegan snacks consisted of just eating doughnuts which is an unhealthy choice of food. I mean,I am not just one of them whose a Bee who just was buying that stuff before she went to jail, there's more of her side in my area whose a Heard whose a Green who doesn't get my grocery shopping either so none of them would support me in my area. There's a younger sort of woman who is after me whose none of them but I don't think that she's a vegan, she had an argument with that one of her whose a Heard who works at Woolies last Friday afternoon because thet one who actually works there thought that she would get me when she won't. Every time I shop there one of them is closed !

I know,I am not looking forward to a cloudy 13°C day this Tuesday in the Newcastle area in New South Wales, we've had some fine 16-17°C days but then we get more rain this week as well. I am looking forward to about mid to late September when the days warm up to around 22°C during the day,by October I look forward to the 26-27°C days. I mentioned how horrible Melbournes weather can get in even October when it was a nice 26°C day at the Newcastle airport then I froze my butt off when I arrived at the Tullamarine airport near Melbourne which was a chilly 13°C afternoon so I don't blame you for wanting to fly to Cairns after arriving home from Malaysia !
