Yea, now that I see the c4s, they need particle effects... Also, is it possible for you to make a mobile version...

I would like videos on this channel to be one of two things: 1) New release overview, so going over all the features and changes since the last version 2) Devlog, going over specific problems you solved and how you did it, eg "Today I will show you how I increased the FPS with this rendering optimization"

Not 1 video, 2 videos. First video: Update details, Second video: Update in depth. This benefits all kinds of players.

The itch integration is a terrible idea not everyone has an itch account and even so, you're just offloading the burden. Why did you choose to make your own certificate server and not let a third-party doing for you given your reasoning.

I'd love to see more YT uploads. If that means that you switch to "slice of life" style, then that's fine. But I also enjoy the detailed explanations.

I would love to see more of these in detail videos. You have to know that you cultivated a following of people that like these detailed devlogs. You should never stop them unless it becomes too much for you. al alternative series that is most lighthearted next to it would speak to a different kind of audience, with overlap

I'm a bit of a programmer and a bit of a game designer, so it will be interesting for me to hear about the intricacies of development from the technical side and how you got to this point and what thoughts came to you. I won't ask for more videos or longer ones, but I'm just interested in following the game.
@retr0breezy4 күн бұрын
I'd like to see you make 2 types of videos. Update videos that talk about what you have added in an update. And Process videos where you talk about the challenges you faced in the technical along side your thought process. So that if there are some viewers that are only interested in the updates with brief explanations, then they wont have to listen to parts of the video they don't understand or care about. But I personally love the in depth explanations!

I'm a developer who has been very curious about developing games but never really gotten into it, personally I love your in-depth explanations of how technologies are implemented and how they work behind-the-scenes. That being said maybe keeping the technological aspects a bit shorter and adding some form of explanation as to *why* the feature is added in the first place also makes it more interesting to follow along the development of the game. Good luck to you and your game, I hope you are doing well and I hope you don't get stuck in too many nights of endless roadblock bugs!

Will the server have an “offline mode” like minecraft where it doesn’t require any authentication? While this has a whole myriad of issue most of them are fixed by requiring users to make a password for the specific server which a lot of offline minecraft servers do. (Btw no I do not pirate Minecraft, I have bought it legally multiple times and I’ve never even used a cracked version myself)

considering to add geological features like mineral distributions or high concentrations that might be detected on the surface as well as for example things that can be found in minecraft mods like these ones: Large Ore Deposits, tectonic, JJThunder To The Max and more! Even adding the possibility of exploration of different planets and star systems like on galactic craft but make it in a way that these planets can be almost generated automatically as no mans sky or elite dangerous or something similar. THe sky is the limits! xD

Id enjoy future dev logs if they were concise on a concept like adding dungeons or a hunger system, but it would be nice if they were more frequent. In general I think a good focus on development would be to add more progression to work through to avoid the game being Minecraft with just different ideas. Love seeing the progress so far, the game feels really cool already

You need to give servers the ability to IP ban, because I can mass create itch accounts very easily and I'm not too shy of griefing myself :)

Can auth system be accountless? Clien generates private-public key pair, and shares public key with server, which uses it to identify the player. The server generates a long payload (4096 bytes?) that it encrypts with public key and sends it to the client. The client decrypts it with private key and sends it back to the server. If payloads match, that means the client is really who he claims to be since it was able to decrypt the payload. If not, the client does not have corresponding private key and can not be trusted

The thought process for deciding what feature to add and, a bit of how, sounds way more intriguing. Using the video brole to show off new blocks well discussing decisions i think is fantastic. That way you can keep it technical but still shkw hey this was wadded or this cow(type) mob was added. Subtle but shows functional process

when or if you add clouds, please let them look like they go infinitly far. It terrible breaks any immersion in the sky, when the clouds get cut off or fade out with the fog at the edge of your render distance.

"Spherical" planets would be extremely cool and fit the game. You could make Torus-shaped planets and project them so they look like spheres

FinalForEach I want to congratulate on where you brought the project. Keep on having fun with developing the game as much as possible. I do want to say that the game often feels very cold to me. That's why I sometimes have a problem playing it myself. I feel like a shift to warmer collors should work nicely.

4:28 for a second I thought you'd say the solution would be "each user makes an SSH or SSL key, then server does challenge-response with the client". This is how TeamSpeak operated for the longest time. Advantages - no external service to rely on, no account to create for the user. Disadvantages - user would have to copy their key to new device / installation of the game to keep their "account" on the game server, no authority that would list existing users, "multiaccounts" for griefing easy to make as it's just about generating new keys on client machine, rather than bypassing rate limits of an authority server

Watching all this unfold on the Discord server has been amazing... But even though all that information is available there, I would still like these kinds of videos, with detailed explanations. As long as the game is this early in development, I think it is a great idea to talk about the underlying code and how everything functions, and then on a later stage (Might be some years), just talk about the updates and what is in them.

You've probably gotten this question a lot, but do you plan on adding automation? And how do you plan for it to look? Also, will we be able to design our own vehicles out of blocks? We'd have to get to space somehow, are we going to be able to build our spaceships out of blocks, or will they be just standalone entities like in popular minecraft mods such as Galacticraft?
@DebasedAnon5 күн бұрын
More frequent updates about individual features you're adding will help you grow both in terms of views and subs which will translate to a bigger playerbase on launch. I think you should focus on getting it to somewhat feature parity with Minecraft without blatantly copying what unique ideas they DID have ofc. But if you get it to a point where its similar in features you could easily get a massive amount of players because people are sick and tired of Microsofts bs combined with the glacially slow updates. From there you can just release content updates and you'd have more content than Minecraft quite fast at the rate they're going.
