Before I even watch the video, I'm going to say the answer is No! I just replied this same thing to another youtuber who posed this same question. I think you can find any and everything in Kingston. It's too much hassle to ship and more often than not, more expensive with all the fees incurred. I could be wrong 🤷‍♀.

Hi, How do you navigate getting a drivers lisense? I have NY state liscense can I just turn it in and get a Jamaican liscense or do I have to start from scratch to get my jamaican lisence
@LifewiddiJamFams
@LifewiddiJamFams 7 күн бұрын
You can drive on your international drivers license for 6 months and then you'll need to get a Jamaican license. From our recent research, to go through the process, we understand that we don't need to start from scratch. UK, USA and Canada driving licenses are recognised in Jamaica. You will need to pay for the license at TAJ (Tax Administration Jamaica and then go to your ITA (Island Traffic Authority) with proof of payment and the international license to get the rest of the process complete. 🧐💯

We see your point! Although Jamaicans may be reluctant to return home, people of various groups are seeing the potential of Jamaica and coming here from different continent and walks of life. They are buying up many of the developments. Property values have grown tremendously over the last decade, as it has in other countries, and it will continue to grow as Jamaica continues to develop and attract more and more investors and people who see Jamaica as a place they can come and invest, set up businesses and grow companies. There are different aspect of the housing market here based on who they serve. Key thing is to own one as soon as possible so that you get in on the ground level or as close to it as possible. 💯✨

@LifewiddiJamFams 11 күн бұрын
We appreciate your interaction with our content. We merely look at the statistics and have a different perspective to yours. Doesn't mean either of us are in denial. Simply a difference of perspective. We live in a global market place where professionals are participating in economic or quality of life migration. We cannot stop people migrating. Even if we implement a drafting programme where people are committed to working in education or the medical field for 3 to 5 years after university or a bonds period where they all need to work for 5 to 10 years in their field of study as service to their country, people will eventually migrate if that's what they desire. It's how we approach the problem that will make a difference. Large groups of Canadians, Americans and British professionals leave their countries each year to work in other parts of the world for a better quality of life. They aren't reporting it as 'brain drain'. They recognise people's freedom to choose and make provisions to remediate those problems. What are some of the ways you believe this problem, you've identified, could be solved? 🤔🧐

@CAROLYNCHANG-k3s One third of the Jamaican population is under 25 years old. There is surplus opportunities right there to produce 'Doctors, Nurses, Engineers, Teachers, Technology professionals' and other career personnel you feel is important. You are very passionate about your ideals regarding the professional make up of Jamaica and it's demographics. Have you considered setting up a nonprofit organisation that promote these career paths in communities where children are disadvantage and from low socio-economic backgrounds? That would raise the socio-economic profile of Jamaica and address your ideals of the professional makeup of the country, fixing the problem from within. When we hold such passions, it is often an indicator that we need to fix those problems. 🤔🧐

Some great points raised! 💎🤩 The content creators who are coming to Jamaica to create content are going to many different parts of the world to do so. Most are showcasing positive aspects of Jamaica. They are coming and doing it. and getting lots of recognition because Jamaican content creator aren't showcasing that aspect of Jamaica as much and it is what any people want to see. The beauty of the country, the natural resource, a view of Jamaica outside of Kingston and what usually shows up in music videos. Lessons can be learnt there! 💯💎😎 Jamaica has lots of space left to inhabit. Kingston and some of it's surrounding areas may be over populated (with a third of the population of Jamaica); however, the rest of Jamaica is doing just fine. 🧐

One of the most achievable improvements that would instantly improve brand Jamaica is for the entire nation to make a commitment to clean up the existing GARBAGE that seem to cover all walks of the entire island. Govt must assist with removal, BUT it’s the citizens and businesses that can control the quality/quantity that is produced and how it is contained until collected. Same goes for regularly debushing of yards, road banks, and other shared or municipal areas. A poorly kept environment is a health hazard (breeds rats, mosquitoes, etc), and gives the impression of a people who are lazy, and have no pride in their own surroundings or future. Our surroundings is the first and last thing locals and visitors (who are not shielded behind resort walls) see each day, and it sends a certain subconscious message.
@LifewiddiJamFams
@LifewiddiJamFams 13 күн бұрын
Great suggestions 💎💯; the garbage is definitely a problem and the citizens and business are the ones to lead on resolving it. The NSWMA would need to be involved for sure. An initiative that has proven successful in other countries is upcycling the same cans to make decorative bins that are placed on the streets so there are actually bins to put the rubbish in. The cleaning of the shrubs and grass off the roads are also crucial. Sometimes it makes the roads much narrower or people finds it difficult to see clearly around already winding roads. Would you consider starting a nonprofit to coordinate such an effort? 🤔🧐
@faithm2535
@faithm2535 10 күн бұрын
@ I don’t live local as yet, but if/when I do, I would not start a non profit for behavioral issues. When I visit, I manage to go all day every day without ever throwing garbage anywhere it is not supposed to go. Likewise, all lands have an owner that should be responsible for maintaining the banks.

@LifewiddiJamFams
@LifewiddiJamFams 6 күн бұрын
@faithm2535 Sounds great! There are a few adverts and programmes incorporated in schools. Even things about the risk of burning rubbish. However, people still choose to burn theirs and on a daily throw it into bush and drop it on the roads. It would be great to see the accountability increase. Maybe more rubbish bins on the streets and more frequency in rubbish collection in more rural parts of the country. Setting up skips where people can take the rubbish would also be great. Any fee measure will need to be tightly implemented, enforced and monitored. Nevertheless, it's worth trialing! 💎💯

@LifewiddiJamFams
@LifewiddiJamFams 15 күн бұрын
According to Immigration Advice Service, the cost of living is 0.49% lower in the UK than in the US (of course cities will have a different margin). Although Shipit says that USA has lower overall costs compared to the UK. There are some aspects that will be better in UK and others in the US. Investopedia has a good breakdown you could look at. However, mortgage rates, internet and other facilities like those tend to be better in the UK. Where are you watching from? 💎🧐

@CAROLYNCHANG-k3s Thanks you for expressing your views. Maybe it would be great if you watched the video and cross reference the points mentioned with actual history and not mere opinions. As Marcus Garvey said, 'A people without a knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots' Equally, Marcus Garvey said, 'Pay no attention to the man who criticises unless he is doing something better than what he criticises.' You repeatedly want to deny Jamaicans access to returning to their country and you consider yourself an ambassador, an ambassador of what exactly and what is the maifesto under which you are operating to transform Jamaica? 🤔🧐
