Thanks for the review video. We're considering staying at Seal Bay at Easter, would you recommend the site?

You should be fine for Easter but during the August school holidays, it gets very busy. It's a large site so plenty to do if you have young children. You are located in the middle of the two entertainment venues, one for adults and the other for kids. What kind of site are you after ?

You'll be fine then, the indoor pool is great and you'll love that, the outdoor one is much smaller but still good if you have the weather. Just make sure if you intend to book any activities you do that prior to going, swimming is just turn up. Lots of nice sites in Cornwall, depends on how far you want to travel.

I tow trailers for a living and these are great tips. However I would caution on leaving the trailer hitched up. Depending on the length and weight of a trailer/ caravan, you could place excessive force on the hitch plus exceed the capacity of the jack, if your starting to unload the suspension of the tow car.

To follow up as promised. It may be worth being aware that there is a repair service available on a well-known buying and selling platform with bay in its title. Search for "Truma Combi Combustion Fan Test'. They will diagnose a fan sent to them to confirm where the fault lies and repair with a one-year warranty. Total cost is about a third of buying a new part - which might appeal to some. We used this service and it was brilliant. The part was diagnosed, repaired and posted back the day it was received. In our case it was a failed diode on the circuit board - very common, apparently. The fan is now refitted and no more E 6 H. Thanks again for getting us on the way to success and avoiding a very expensive and possibly lengthy repair at a dealership.

Thanks for letting us know the outcome, glad it's all sorted.

Just to say a massive thanks for this video. It got me on the road to solving my problem - not least as it showed how easy it is to access and remove the combusion fan. I did not know about the small cover that just lifted up! I was anticipating the need to remove the whole boiler - beyond my comfort zone as I did not want to start disconnecting gas components. I know of only one other video on the internet (subsequently discovered) that helps in this way. Your video was found almost by accident and I nearly could not find it again when I wanted to write and say thank you. There are Truma "Combi 4" and "Combi 6" boilers and I think your video gets lost in the search for these. If you adjust the video title to make it more clear that it is about a "Code 6" error on Truma combi boilers, it will be found more easily for anyone searching for Code 6 issues: e.g. "E 6 H". My combustion fan is now out and hopefully being repaired. I hope to update again shortly with further information that may be useful to others.

Great top tips for towing , however a caravan, especially brand new, is an expensive asset and in the nearly 25 years of towing a caravan I’ve always had Tyron Bands fitted to all my vans and despite never being in the unfortunate position of having a puncture or a blow out, Tyron Bands give you that piece of mind, especially with the introduction of so called “Smart Motorways”, for you to be able to continue towing at very low speed and find a suitable parking area to be able to have the tyre changed by either you or a professional. Tyron Bands work by keeping the tyre from coming off the rim and causing the caravan to become uncontrollable and also cause expensive damage to the caravan wheel arch and wheel. A cheaper alternative at a couple of hundred pounds to what it could be if disaster strikes.👍

What would you take out the van for winter storage? Hopefully weather permitting we will go away for 5 days will re cover the van and bring home the battery and put on a trickle charge adapter as well as put the wheels on a tyre lock to stop any “standing” damage for 3 months.

I'm sorry but the second the bearing end cap came out with no resistance shows the outer race is too loose in the roller and the way it span round with noise indicates zero lubrication and to much play between the balls and the races. Bearings don't like being washed with rain especially zz ones (shielded) rather than 2RS ones (rubber seals) for the price of a couple of bearings they definitely needed changing while it's stripped down. Mine clicked and the bearing fell to bits. Poor design with hardly any water protection.

Had a week there worst touring site we have visited in 40 yrs of touring. pitches were scruffy unkept there website for that site shows nice tarmac roads nice bays opposite each other false advertising. The touring park is up a massive hill the site goes up in stages almost impossible to reverse you caravan onto pitch. The showers are so outdated beyond belief. The laundry has two washing machines only one working told by a static van resident been out of order for weeks complained to reception falls on deaf ears. As for the entertainment you've never seen such load of rubbish. Restaurant is open to public with access to entertainment. The place is a tip.

So - Ive adopted your way except to date not used a ramp. Been lucky I guess. However. Initially it’s great. But I found issues with the bathroom door being off centre after levelling. Why I wondered? Doh!! I have an internal water tank. My levels were always before I filled the tank. But after it was full the neutral position had of course moved. Dammit. Dunno if anyone else has that issue -😊 I d like to know though. So my plan next time is to get it as level as I can then fill and then re level. Interestingly when I have the van on the road outside the house it’s never a problem - so the weight and less stable ground does matter. I may just buy a milenco wheel rack (😅it’s got a proper name, so I don’t need to fuss moving onto a ramp. I do like your vids tho mate. Keep on doing them!

I had the same issue on my 2012 Conqueror.....i was in the South of France where i leave my caravan for 9 months of the year. Spoke with my insures Tower Gate who were fantastic. Agreed to cover the cost of the repair at a Swift Dealer near Bergerac. Its definitely a manufacturing fault. The silicon rubber seal that allows the glass to flex during movement becomes hard over time and this is what creates the cracking. The repair guy said that the silicon rubber seal has now been upgraded and no longer losses its flexibility. Total cost to have a new one fitted including all the silicon sundries glass and labour was £2.5k ......thanks Tower Gate Insurance.👍
