Fantastic place, haven't been yet. I did drive from Dartmoor(West) up to Dunkery Beacon near there on Exmoor though (you're on Exmoor, btw!) and the drive certainly didn't take an hour and was pretty difficult! The road between there and Exeter goes twisting through some sort of extreme-contoured River Valley for ages. Wouldn't want to do it after the floods/snow we've been having. It was tough driving in the dry in Summer!

Nice, again, right near where I come from. I recommend you visiting 'Baggator' and 'Lynch Tor' in the same trip, they're in a relatively similar area, you have to drive south from Mary Tavy along the A386, but before Tavistock you turn left for Harford Bridge + Peter Tavy, then literally follow that road (it passes Peter Tavy Church) all the way to its end where there's a nice grassy car-parking literally beside Baggator. Then you have a fair walk uphill to Lynch Tor. When you stand on Baggator on a clear day you'll have an excellent view of the towering Standon Hill high above it.

Unless your at creason wood you are camping illegally. If your near tavi there is no camping anywhere in the woodland on the official Dartmoor camping map. So you talk about being responsible but you not. Naughty boy 😔 Just like all the other you tubers on Dartmoor who treat it with complete disrespect. I have only seen one or two who actually do things correctly and camp responsibly and your not one of them. The only reason you don't want to tell people where you were was because it was illegal. Btw: if you know Dartmoor you should know that no open fires are allowed anywhere on the moor, it its not allowed no exceptions except in a life and death situation. Its really reckless to do so.
@Andy-n4uzzz3 ай бұрын
As long as you say “leave no trace” at the end of your video it’s fine though right? 😂 Having 10 Fosters and trying to light a fire is exactly the sort of “wild camping” that gives the rest of us a bad name.
@Intotheoutdoors692 ай бұрын
Hi Dave, thanks for the comment I wasn't camping at Creason woods or the Tavy. The area I planned on camping was Dartmoor but there was a little spot just outside the Dartmoor boundary. I didn't camp where I had planned because there was people there so I had to walk a bit to where I did camp, which still is outside the Dartmoor boundary line. Yes I am like most you tubers because most you tubers actually do treat Dartmoor with respect. Apart from my first video where I camped at Teignhead farm which you're not supposed too and I had a fire in the same spot loads of others have in the past. Since then, I've always camped in the permitted wild camping spots and certainly don't have fire's, I know how hazardous they can be. I would also love to fly my drone on Dartmoor to get some Dartmoor scenery cinematic shots especially the Tavy cleve but we are not allowed to so I dont. Trust me I really do want to say where it is but I'm being respectful to my freind who doesn't want me to say where it is. Im assuming this is the only video of mine that you have watched, I would suggest you watch my other video's and you will see how respectful I am on Dartmoor then come back to me and let me know if you feel the same, because trust me I love Dartmoor and will always treat with respect 😁👍
@Intotheoutdoors692 ай бұрын
Well what a surprise, at the end of the video I say leave no trace and I actually leave no trace. Having 10 fosters is just that, having 10 fosters, whether your a disrespectful wild camper or a respectful wild camper, I took all my litter home with me as always. As for the fire apart from my first video where I camped where I should've and had a fire I haven't camped where I shouldn't and definitely have not had a fire on Dartmoor. Where I camped in this video was outside the Dartmoor boundary and the fire I attempted tonhave was also outside the boundary. And if I had got the fire going it was on the dry bit of the river bed with loads of water around so would've been a very safe place to have it😁👍
@davedevonlad74022 ай бұрын
@@Intotheoutdoors69 I truly hope you do respect Dartmoor as it's my home, my family have lived on and around Dartmoor for generations and it's absolutely devastating to watch people treat it and it's people and animals with no care in the world of the consequences. I have witnessed ponies dying choking on sandwiches wrapped in plastic, foals standing over their dead mothers after being hit by a vehicle, many sheep the same way and being attacked by dogs not on a leash, many many burn marks by BBQs and open fires, so much litter and so much more. It's just absolutely devastating to see. I truly hope you do respect Dartmoor and it's not just lip service.

If you head look at the map follow East Reiver Dart North it turns left then you have waterfalls then sandy hole pass here is a link to that video😁👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZauioB_bNV9bposi=J9YsENrZQa7v5Ptm
