That’s a little out of the way for our western trek so looking at somewhere around Dodge City give or take 50 miles. BlazeNSaddle is our second stop built into Trip Wizard if things work out. We then trek toward Tucson so we part ways with you at this point.😊 Indio in February is the plan!

Hi you guys! I've always been fascinated with RV Motor Coaches, not to buy but just the concept of living on the road in one. I've watched several KZbin channels about some of the Motor Coach resorts and was suprised that one was in Petoskey Michigan because I recall going there as a small child with my parents from Chicago. I happened across your channel and to my surprise, I know Judy from my childhood when the Warners still lived in Chicago! Your Uncle Jim was married to my cousin Hilda.I spent much of my childhood with Karen and Jimmy and even recall your mom, Alice, driving us around in a big lavender Lincoln. I was a car nut as a kid, so her big car with the power windows fascinated me. I'm Facebook friends with your sister Jacqui and have spent Christmases at Karen's house with Uncle John and Aunt Geri, may they RIP. Anyway, I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to following your adventures. BTW, your coach is beautiful and forgot to mention my name is Ron. I think you may have even been to our house in Chicago.We lived on Fremont in Lincoln Park but sadly, our family building was torn down last year. I didn't hear your husbands name in this video but I'll stay tuned for more! Stay well and Happy Trails!😉

When the refrigerator starts cycling, you should get 9-11 hours of runtime. If you really need to extend the runtime, you can put an appliance timer on the circuit and have it wait a couple hours to turn on and the cycle in on/off every two or three hours. My plan is one hours on with two hours off. This should give you 10-16 hours runtime. If you ever replace the refrigerator, think about one with an inverter controlled compressor. That should give you 16-24 hours continuous runtime.

Hi Gord, interesting setup. I had the same issue with our RV residential fridge, the 4 x 100 ah Led Acid batteries would barely make it through the night. I decided to replace them with Lithium batteries of the same size. I can now easily run the fridge for several days. As a test, I ran the fridge for 18 hours, I was still able to run the espresso machine and start the generator from the batteries with ease. While it’s fairly expensive for the batteries, I was able to do the install myself which lowered the overall cost quite a bit. Some additional benefits are the batteries will hold their charge while the RV is in storage for months, I no longer have to think about checking or topping up with distilled water, while travelling we can leave the RV for the entire day or days with the fridge and ceiling fan running.

@@wayneglabais1208 nice! What batteries did you put in? And did you have to change out anything else like a charge controller or whatever?

@@rvadventuresbigandsmall I went with the Battleborn 12v GC2H for a couple of reasons, they were a direct size replacement for the 6v GC Lead Acid batteries and therefore fit in the existing battery compartment, the GC2H also have the built in battery heaters. While Battleborn were not the least expensive, they provided excellent support while I was selecting components for the design. My existing Magnum MS2012 charge controller has a custom configuration profile for Lithium charging, I believe the newer controllers come with a pre-configured Lithium charging profile. I had to swap out the Battery Isolation Manager (BIM) for a Lithium compatible BIM to controller alternator charging better, and I added a Victron Shunt with the Smart Monitor and App. I rewired the battery hookups from 6v Series/Parallel to 12v Parallel only, I had new 2/0 cables built locally. The setup has worked flawlessly. I can provide you with the detailed specs and my installation docs if you’re interested. Heading to ORI in Nov Lot394 if you would like to have a look

Hey Gordon, well today is Monday and we left ORI last Monday and got home to Nashville on Thursday evening. We didn’t bother trying to unload anything and slept in the coach for two nights. So what, we have full hook ups here at the house. Like you I have to wash the coach before I put it in the barn. That will be a few days. It started raining during the night in Russellville, AR and really poured down from there to well past Little Rock then mild rain to Memphis so the coach needs cleaning bad. Happy you made it home safely. We also had no problems but had to run the generator a lot when we were stopped due to heat. Keep in touch.

@wayneglabais12087 ай бұрын
Hi Gord, did you ever figure out why your batteries were not charging from the generator? If not, check the charge controller button is on when the generator is running. It makes sense that the solar panels would charge the batteries because its direct to the batteries. But the generator would need the Inverter/Charger combo to charge the batteries. The generator provides 110v AC to the charger and the charger transforms the 110 v ac power to 12v DC. Sometimes for whatever reason on mine, I just have to push the button on my charge controller panel to Charge/on.
